The Chocolate Effect
21 year old Imani Southland is only tryna do whatever it takes to make it in life. Because her father was in jail and her mother died when she was only seven years old, Imani grew up with only an older brother to guide her, determined not to be a statistic and now a junior at Southern University of New Orleans, she's making it happen. On her way to become a doctor, she maintains a 4.0 grade point average, while volunteering at a dance studio for inner city kids and working a full-time job. With her busy schedule, she has no time for love. Not even when it comes to Xzavier Wheeler, a senior at her university as well. Though he was 6'2 and the color of peanut butter, Imani doesn't fall for him like all of the others do. When Imani's life and health are seriously threatened, it's up to Xzavier to prove her wrong. Not all of them are the same. But their relationship comes to a screeching halt when Imani's ex-boyfriend, Ares, comes back into the picture, swearing things will be different this time. Once Imani gets a taste of Xzavier and all he has to offer her, will she be able to give in to the Chocolate Effect or will she walk away forever?
