Ranboo is a nineteen year old merman. There's not much to his life, other than the fact that he's a merman. You may think it would be fun to be a merman or mermaid or merperson or whatever, but it's actually pretty boring. There's nothing to do besides swimming, swimming, and swimming some more. 

Ranboo's father is the king/god of the ocean. Now, that's pretty cool, right? Wrong! His father doesn't let him do anything. He has to stay at the castle all day and night doing jack shit. 

One day, when Ranboo sneaks out to go to the peer, he spots a boy, maybe just a year or two younger than him, in an unsafe ordeal. Ranboo's quick thinking saves the boy, and then Ranboo's life starts to change. 

But is it for the better, or worse?

The teasing, the toying, that is, until a storm hits, and Tommy falls overboard. Wilbur loves to mess with the boy, but now is no time for jokes. This is life or death for this boy. Tommy can somewhat remember a pair of hands grabbing him, and him grabbing a piece of wood to float on. Wilbur pushes the boy back to the ship where his brother and his two friends are there to pull him back aboard. Once Tommy can think, he knows that it only could've been the Siren that had saved him. In the ""wise"" words of c!Ranboo, "choose people not sides." Sometimes, though, you have to choose a side. Tommy's lived in the same town forever, his two older brothers taking care of him and all the other crimes in the city as the top heroes after the death of their parents. From running around town with Tubbo (and maybe Ranboo sometimes) to skipping school (also with Tubbo), Tommy could probably take on the world as long as he had his best friend beside him. However, when you're assigned a side from birth, it's hard not to have enemies...... ~ ~ ~ Mostly Tommy's perspective, some angst so TWs will be listed at the beginning of those chapters. Tommy had just recently moved homes. The one he left was one full of memories. Not good ones, but not necessarily bad ones, either. He didn't have much to live for at his old home, so he moved in hope of starting over and meeting new people. He had no more family, and his school friends had long moved on from him. In fact, the only number in his contacts was his mum's who was long passed away. Tommy was young (sixteen, to be exact) and he often forgot things. Usually just as simple as forgetting to do the laundry, or forgetting to reply to a notification on his phone that he received three seconds prior. Simple things that didn't matter. This time, though, he forgot to charge his phone before leaving his new, barely furnished apartment. He didn't think much of it. If it died, it died. No biggie, right? He figured he'd be alright for an hour or so without his phone. That is, until he got lost in the large, unfamiliar town that he definitely didn't even slightly know the layout of. He didn't know where he was or how to get back to his apartment, especially without a GPS. And then, when it definitely couldn't get worse, it began to rain. Tommy was soaked. He was cold, hungry. He cut into an alley and sat down against a brick wall, curled up on himself. He sat there for a while, and then heard footsteps. It was three men. The older one crouched down in front of him. "You look awful...Come with us, mate." But Tommy didn't want to.
