Poems, East Village, New York City. The White Porcelain Well evokes both the inner and outer landscapes of New York City's gay village. Written mostly in coffee houses and all-night diners over the course of several years, these poems attempt to capture the denizens of the East Village in all their magic, mystery, joy, pathos and heartbreak. These are poems of love, yearning, youth, aging, loss, and memory, all played out against the backdrop of Manhattan's towering spires and gritty back alleys.
