After suffering a mysterious accident six months ago, Mara finally awakens from her coma, only to find that her mother is missing and she has no memory of the accident that left her there. Desperate to make ends meet for her sister, Mara starts painting again, and while most of her paintings are of strangers, there's one that's vaguely recognizable- a black-eyed person who her intuition tells her knows the truth behind her accident. During a thunderstorm, this very same person appears and dies before her in her home.

With a target on her back and a desperation to save her family, Mara's attempt to dump the body proves fruitless and the corpse, to her surprise, comes back to life, saves her, and offers her a deal.
