A Maid For The Master
Jay suddenly stopped smiling. The atmosphere changed abruptly, and he leaned in towards me.
"You've been getting more embarrassed around me lately. Why is that?" he asked, voice low. My eyes widened slightly and my body tensed.
"N-No I don't," I lied.
"Don't think I don't pick up on these things, Lissie," he said, getting closer, closing me off. "I've been sensing your behavior for a while now, and I cannot ignore it any longer."
"No reason," I stated quickly.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"As in, I have no reason to be embarrassed around you," I repeated with a little more confidence. "You're probably hallucinating, so stop it. You're distracting me and I can't focus," I snapped, a bit of unintentional venom in my voice.
"Whatever you say," he said, referring to what I had said before. He nonchalantly leaned back towards his original position. "We both know that's not true."
Just barely scraping by in life, Lissie finds a job as a house maid for one of the wealthiest, sexiest eligible bachelors in the area, Jay Von Trapp.
The first encounter between the two wasn't the best. Pretty awkward, actually. Therefore, they're not exactly fond of each other.
Though, as time goes by, things change.
With the way Jay has been looking at her lately, nowhere else to go, her heart jabbing at her, and to top it all off, some competition out to get her, Lissie's life just couldn't possibly get any more complicated than it already is.
. . . Right?
