✫ Wife of Vladimir ✫ Son of Dracula ✫ Child of the Stars ✫ Fate truly is a funny thing. People had always said that it had a sense of humor and I had never believed them, until now. My mind was made up once Scarlet had placed her hand in mine and I thought I knew how the night would end. Yet as she stepped into the moonlight and out of the shadows, I was taken aback. My mouth went dry and my throat tightened as I realized this was the closest I had ever been to a human in a while. I wondered if that was the cause of the strange feelings, but it went further than that. It wasn't because she was a human, but because of how she appeared to me. Not only that, but she smelled differently than other humans. Her scent was sweet; like pastries, bread, and cakes. There was a hint of vanilla and strawberries stuck upon her as well, but that was all the furthest thing from my mind. All I could do was stare at her in disbelief.
