"I'm not going to sit around and watch you kill yourself. I've done that two too many times, and I'm not going to do it for a third time." || After moving repeatedly throughout her childhood, Nora Kristoffersen came to recognize two constants in her life - music and her family. When her family finally settles down in Washington state as a teen, she, for the first time, finds her tribe of people in the burgeoning music scene in and around Seattle. However, the fun punk rock party atmosphere doesn't last long as more of her friends bands get signed and hit it big, leaving her as a background songwriter and roadie spreading herself too thin just to make ends meet. More important people in her life start heading down the wrong path as she's forced to watch them hurl towards self destruction. At the same time and against her better judgement, she starts to fall for her ex-boyfriend's ex-bandmate, someone who quit the Seattle scene years ago to pursue the money making music down in Hollywood. The more Nora learns about the reality of the music business, the more she comes to see it as a truly wicked garden - a place of untamed pleasure, and unknown pain. But can she do anything to change it? Can she do anything to help her loved ones get off their path towards certain self destruction, or will she get lost in the garden too? [Set in late 80's & early 90's Seattle and Los Angeles. Contains drug use, violence, self harm/suicide mentions, and sex.]
