Since that day, Pendleton lived with sorrow and guilt for not acting when he should have done. Two nights later, being driven with guilt, he killed himself. Many of us know the rest- he ends up in hell, goes under the alias of Sir Pentious, sacrifices himself for his friends (and Cherri Bomb, of course) and gets into Heaven as a redeemed soul. But what if that never happened? What if Pendleton became so filled with guilt from his inability to act, that instead of becoming a vulnerable (yet acting villainous) snake demon in hell, he was doomed to wander his own workshop halls as a ghost? Well, that is exactly what happens. Almost ten years have passed in a still Victorian-era London, and author Emerson Wiles, a beautiful young authoress, had rented the former inventor's apartment, turning it into a writer's haven. Pendleton becomes shocked at the young woman who enters his home...maybe now is the chance to do something...
