Andrea has never had an easy life. Her mother, after suffering from depression most of her teenage life and eventually was missed diagnosed with anxiety instead of postpartum depression killed herself shortly after Andrea's first birthday. Because of Andrea's upbringing, she has always been skeptical of having a family of her own, fearing she will leave her child behind just as she was.
Andrea, now a twenty-four-year-old newlywed finds out that she is pregnant. Because of the past, Andrea is struggling with her options. Will she decide to keep the baby or abort it in the hope that history doesn't repeat itself?
Opportunity comes knocking on her front door when she receives a call from her uncle notifying her that her estranged father has passed away, leaving her with all of her mother's belongings. With no other family, Andrea is forced to make the six and a half hour drive to Vermont to deal with the personal items. But what she doesn't expect was to find unopened letters addressed to her from her mother. It seems that instead of writing a pregnancy journal, her mother wrote her daughter letters. Letters detailing a sick mother's love for her unborn child and newborn. Will she receive the closure that she never had and find some strength in her mother's letters or will she just find another reason to give up hope of ever having a happy ending?
