This fic is basically Mike and Will stuck in that insanely hot, slow, quiet summer where everything is happening at the same time. They just moved into an apartment so they're around each other 24/7. There are a lot of lingering touches, sharing beds a little too comfortably, staring a little too long, and both of them lowkey noticing but pretending they're not. Mike is having a full internal crisis because he's realizing these feelings didn't just appear they've always been there and now he can't ignore them anymore. meanwhile will? He already went through it. He's been there. He's just sitting in it. So it's a LOT of accidental touching that is NOT accidental. Almost moments, quiet tension in like every room ever. The party is there, but they're also third wheeling their emotional spiral. and it's all very soft and achy and intimate and like summer air, open windows, late nights, skin-on-skin for a second too long type energy. Basically, two best friends realizing they're in love in the slowest, most painful, most tender way possible, and neither of them knows what to do about it except stay close anyway. What is a girl supposed to do when she is still a virgin after passing a quarter of her life without any attention from men? According to my friends, I'll "just" have to find a one night man at a bar. Not my idea of a fun time, but who ever said losing their virginity was fun? Probably a lot of people, but I wasn't gonna risk dating a guy, who then freaks out over my virgin state, or fall in love, give everything to him, and then lose it all. But most importantly of all, I know no guy would be interested in me (I have been told that plenty of times, which I happen to fully agree on, with my shy, awkward personality and over the top curvy body) unless I promised him a single, no strings attached sort of night.
