I followed her
Underneath her body
With every step, she took huge masses of water to follow her. It was supernaturally huge and I was sure it was following her because I felt the earth shift after she left the tent.
Kent tried to ask me where I was going and if I needed someone to follow me through the city but I didn't want too much attention and I had a feeling that she would sense all these men following her through the city
There was something off about this girl; she was hiding something and I had a feeling that this may lead me to something, like the mysterious water beast
I kept a few feet behind us
I watched as she took a far more complicated route but one where very few people were ther. I often saw other maids and housekeepers taking out huge baskets of clothes or little children running around making their own fun. I knew that she didn't want to be seen but it was unsuccessful because even the children would stop in their tracks and watch as she moved through the city
A group of soldiers heading to the camp walked past her hurling insults and making faces, she ignored them and continued walking away, they then saw me behind and quickly bowed in my presence I continued walking away from them just as that strange girl did as well
Everyone wants to be close to the general. More of a chance to survive this upcoming war with the rebels. But they didn't understand that I do not have friends. A soldier is a soldier and I will fight alongside them no matter how dangerous it may be.
Recently they have been getting increasingly bolder in their attacks. Attacking at even the expense of their own lives. They have been attacking villages in search of the dragon as well, reports from soldiers who encounter them in the field say that they will tear through anything to find what they are looking for. They leave nothing but ashes as they leave stealing women and gold from their prizes.
We have been keeping a close eye on them for the past couple of months but recently they have been awfully quiet I don't know what they have planned but I am sure they are going to do something soon and very soon.
I must have been lost in my own thought because I was dragged back to reality when I heard a voice in the middle of a large group of girls, I looked to find the girl I was following but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Our village was flourishing until you arrived here ever since everything has gone to ruin. We cant even marry in our village because you walk around here seducing our men! Once you are gone we will be restored to our former glory"
A younger girl in a beautiful dress similar to the one her sister was wearing spoke very boldly in the middle . she stood tall with confidence only occasionally glancing around to see if anyone would challenge her, none had.
I stepped a bit closer to see what was going on, i wasn't the only one, the once quiet road was now full of spectators and hecklers.
In the middle of the circle, I saw the girl from earlier, the nurse
She stood in the middle with a defensive stance. She was hugging her arms and eyeing the girl who was speaking just now.
On the ground around her, I realized there was a pool of blood forming, I looked back up to see there was a huge slash in the girl's arm.
The other girls stood around her with murderous looks in their eyes. The one in the middle was holding a medium-sized blade ready to strike again at any moment.
This was a setup, it looked as if they intended to kill the girl in front of everyone.
The crowd whispered
"If only she would settle down and marry like women should"
"If the general were here he would be ashamed"
The village doesn't even welcome this girl
I know she has odd looks her sister's features are a complete contrast to hers. It was as if she was born to stand out. I looked at her from afar. She was beautiful in a strange way. Her hair almost seemed to protect her the way it surrounded her head. She was tall with long limbs and beautiful skin, like a creature out of a fairy tale
I snapped out of my thoughts as she yelled with force " intruder"
She pointed into a crowd where I immediately noticed a figure dressed in all black moving forward very quickly. No one else responded, maybe thinking she was trying to get out of this situation. Before I could respond
Before anyone could respond to this action, a sword plunged right through this girl's chest
I mind-linked with my dragon and told it to alert the soldiers and the general
The rebels here in this camp
I watched as the girl looked down at the sharp piece of metal coming through her chest, before she could even scream a pool of blood escaped her mouth before she fell to the ground
But how
How did the Medic spot them before anyone else?
Screams broke out all around as the body fell to the ground
" if you all can just answer our questions no one else will have to be hurt," the rebel leader spoke
The crowd remained silent fear visible in their eyes
I knew the soldiers were getting closer but I already knew that the rebels had outnumbered our men. I could sense their warm bodies surrounding the whole camp.
How could rebels invade our village with no one noticing
"Where is the dragon?" he asked
No one answered
" has anyone seen a blue dragon," he asked once again his voice quiet but filled with power
Another scream rang through the crowd as he plunged his blade into another innocent villager's chest causing another body to fall to the ground.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a bag of ashes
I then began to use my heat and formed it into a bow as well and made an arrow once I was satisfied with the shape I lowered the temperature allowing it to harden
I drew it back shooting an arrow into the sky with extreme accuracy
Years of training wouldn't allow me to miss a shot like this
"Has an-" his question was cut off by a roar coming from the sky an arrow can down from the sky plunging into one of the heads of the hooded men.
They paused after the body hit the ground they search the audience before their eyes fell on mine.
"The prince! Why is he here" the man with the blade yelled into the crowd
I launched into action fighting all the hooded figures around me
I formed a small blade with the remainder of the ashes slashing men's throats as I move through the
I could see some of the soldiers fighting beside me
The men fought resiliently but the more they killed the more rebels would show up
I looked up and saw the girl running into the forests
I looked at the large trees and vegetation in that area, but why would she run in that direction?
But from the stories I've heard that forest was extremely dangerous.
She would get herself killed either by a rebel or by the forest
I looked around me and noticed more soldiers from the camp were here and the rebel we beginning to lose the battle some even retreating, my eyes fell back toward the forest
I needed to know where she was running off too
I took off in that direction
But I think it will be able to lead me closer to the dragon
Following her was harder than I thought it would be
She moved with such speed and diligence
She moved faster than the average soldier
Where did she train like this
She jumped over large stones and branches, climbed over obstacles and it seems like she glided over small bodies of water as she ran through them
She rounded and corner so I slowed to watch her
We were out of the village surrounded by poisonous plants but she didn't seem to be worried
Her body was hunched in pain
It was amazing that she could still move with the number of injuries she had
Her arm was still bleeding a huge amount
If she keeps going she will faint from blood loss
I stepped a little closer but a twig snapped under my leg
I moved back before she could see me but she didn't even check
Her body took off again showing no signs of exhaustion
The deeper we were in the forest the more sounds of dangerous creatures and harmful plants were shown
I took off into the trees
I noticed tigers and other murderous creatures making a way for her as she ran through this, almost as if they were showing a sign of respect to a familiar friend.
The girl has some kind of power. she moved with such force
I noticed a cliff up ahead but she showed no signs of stopping I swung and jumped a little faster from tree to tree to try and reach her without getting eaten but I couldn't get there on time
She dove off the edge without hesitation
I quickly climbed down from the tree to see if she could make it from that drop but I saw nothing below me
The bottom of the valley was untouched by human hand
The river flowed and animals ran around
I stood there catching my breath, I felt my heart drumming against my chest, she just killed herself without any hesitation
Maybe she was working with the rebels, maybe she was just tired of it all
But I still didn't feel at peace, something didn't make any sense.
I couldn't help but notice a reflection of a scale
As I looked closer I realized it was a blue scale
The dragon was here
But it must be camouflaged
I sent a mind link to Leo calling him to bring me down but I could hear the cries of men coming up the mountain.
I paused for a moment allowing myself to feel their body head, hoards of men were coming in this direction.
They must've followed me without me noticing, I was so focused on the girl I didn't even check for someone following me.
And by the sounds of it, the mountain didn't show it as much mercy as I had been given
Even though I could tell they lost many men there were still hundreds of them making their way to where I stood, the sounds of their screams gave me a bit of relief before I prepared myself to take them on.
I looked back over the edge
And there the dragon was
She had a huge injury on her side
This injury would surely kill it
I had to get down there I save some scales to show to the king, remove myself from these vain missions and get back out on the battlefield as soon as possible.
I noticed a wet figure walking toward the dragon without any control
It was the girl
But how did she survive
I looked back down at the drop, it was impossible if the impact didn't kill her striking a stone or maybe blood loss from her injury should've done it.
Her silver hair flowed down her back
her clothes had tears exposing much of her body
She looked almost magical in this wet state, strange
waters flowing beside her with every step
She then reached out to the dying dragon almost like she was showing her condolences
like she felt every bit of pain the dragon did
even though dragons are aggressive by nature you could tell that the dying dragon leaned into her touch
But as soon as they made contact water soon shot from the river and started to surround both of their bodies forming a barrier between them and the rest of the world
I have never seen a thing like that before
I haven't even read of such occurrences
but before I could invest further I turned and was faced with an army of hundreds of men
I was going to make them regret coming around me and this camp
