HABOL ANG hiningang pumasok si Kairus sa restuarant na napag-usapang kikitaan nila ni Mr. Lao. Halos liparin niya kasi ang papunta sa restaurant na sinabi nito dahil may kung ano siyang nararamdaman na nasasabik na siyang makita ito. Maybe because he thinks that Mr. Lao could be Honey's Father and he wanted to meet him.

When he entered the fancy restaurant, he immediately roam around his gaze to find the person he's looking for. His head stopped roaming when his eyes settled to the old man who had a narrowed eyes. Old who's definitely looked like a carbon copy of his woman.
The old man looks like the male version of his baby. He's pretty so damn sure, that this old man is his baby's Father. The man who wanted to meet him. Biglang kumalabog ang dibdib ni Kairus, iniisip niya kung ano pwedeng mangyari at bakit gusto siya nitong makausap.
He's not dumb, he knew this man didn't just entered his company because Mr. Lao just wanted to invest. Their wealth is faw away from each other. Yes, he do have his own successful company but it's not wealthy as Mr. Lao's. That's why, it's very hard for him to convinced that Mr. Lao just wanted to invest. He knew there's something that this old man wanted from him. In the world where that Mr. Lao is standing, he and his company is just an ant. He will never deny that.
Looking at the old man while walking towards their place, he look so strict, but he's pretty sure that he can manage, he will never let go of his baby. If this old man have the guts to separate them, he will never let that happen.
Nagsimula na siyang maglakad patungo sa lamesa ng kikitain. Nakikipagusap ang matandang lalaki sa katabi nitong may edad na babae na pamilyar na pamilyar sa mata ni Kairus. Honey's mother.
Nang makarating siya sa lamesang iyon, awtomatikong napatingin sa gawi niya ang mga magulang ni Honey. He smiled politely and manage himself to speak formal with respect. The people who's infront of him is hundred percent sure his baby's parents.
"I'm sorry, I'm late." Ani Kairus at bahagyang yumukod upang magbigay galang sa dalawa.
"K-kair-"
"Mr. Hudson!" Mr. Lao exclaimed. "I finally met you. I'm glad." The old man said and smiled at him back, but he knew there's something behind those smile.

The old man stood up and held his hands towards him. He immediately accept it to show some respect and to formally introduce himself.
"I feel the same way, Mr. Lao." Aniya at nginitian ang ginoo bago bawiin ang kamay niya na hawak nito.
Ngunit ayaw iyon bitawan ng ginoo, mas lalo pa nitong hinigpitan ang pagkakahawak sa kaniyang kamay na para bang pinipilit nito. He knew what it means, he's scaring him, but what this old man did to him doesn't terrified him.

"I really do, Mr. Lao." Aniya at binawi muli ang kamay niya ngunit ayaw pa rin iyon bitawan ng matanda. "Can i have my han--"
"Papá." Nanigas si Kairus ng marinig niya ang pamilyar na tinig ng nobya.
He immediately turn around his gaze to find where the voice coming from.
"B-baby?" Utal niyang ani ng makita ang nobya na ngayon ay nakatayo na sa kaniyang gilid.
"Papá, what do you think you're do--"
"Zhōngwén, wǒ de nǚ'ér." Ani ama ni Honey sa lenggwaheng tsino.
"I will just excuse ourself, Papá. Mr. Hudson is a very busy man, he's a business man after all. I think he needs to g--"
"Are you busy, Mr. Hudson? As far as I know, I set an appointment for you to pay your whole attention to me." The man said while slowly letting go of his hands.

"Yes, you are!" Putol sa kaniya ng nobya na halata niyang gusto na siya nitong paalisin.
"No, i am not." Pagmamatigas niya.
Agad napukol ang masamang tingin ng nobya sa kaniya. Iniwas niya ang paningin sa nobya upang hindi makita ang napakatalim nitong pagtitig sa kaniya. He bit his lower lips and take a deep sighed before facing Honey's mother.
"Mrs. Lao, it's been a day. How are you?" Pormal niyang bati sa ginang.
Alam niyang Mamá dapat ang itawag niya sa ginang pero sa tingin niya ay hindi ito ang tamang panahon. Base sa obserbasyon niya, walang alam ang ama ng nobya.

Tumayo ang ginang at naglakad palapit sa kaniya. Agad siya nitong sinalubong ng yakap ng ito'y makalapit sa kaniya.
"What are you doing here, hijo? You're putting yourself in danger." Bulong na ani ng ginang sa pagitan ng pagyakap nito sa kaniya.

Umupo ang ginang at ginoo. Gano'n din ang ginawa ng nobya niya, tumabi naman siya kay Honey at hindi nakalagpas sa kaniyang paningin ang masama pa rin nitong pagtitig sa kaniya.

Mr. Lao called the waiter and when the waiter reached their table, Mr. Lao spoke.

Habang hinihintay nila ang waiter, bigla niyang naramdaman ang kamay ng nobya sa kaniyang hita na kaagad nagbigay bigla ng init sa kaniyang katawan dahil sa sensasyon na dulot ng makasalanang kamay ng nobya.

"What do you do for living?" Sunod nitong tanong.
"I am a businessma--"
"I already knew that, what I wanted to know is something new." Putol nito sa kaniya.
"I owned three different company with many bran--"
"I knew that one too."
"I am one of the owner of the big casi--"
"I know." Lihim niyang ikinangiti ang muling pagputol sa kaniya ng ginoo.
"Looks like you already know everything about me, Mr. Lao. Did you do some research? Did you investigated me? Or you stalk me? Choose." He asked, but he made sure that there's a little respect the way he delivered his words.
Ramdam niya ang tingin ng nobya niya sa kaniya. Kita niya sa gilid ng mata niya ang gulat na nakaguhit sa buong mukha ng dalaga.
"I just knew some things about you, you're one of the very successful businessman after all. We're just running in the same circle, that is why." Matigas na ingles ng matandang tsino.
"Some? You knew some, but not the whole me, yet, you act like you know everything. Great." He erased all his emotions in is face. "Don't fool me, Mr. Lao. I knew that, in the place that you're standing I'm just an ant." He smiled fakely.
He just said the all truth. Totoo naman na langgam lang siya sa mundong ginagalawan nito. He made his own little research while he was driving towards here. He knew that this old man in front of him is not just a simple business man. Mr. Lao will never be a billionaire if he's just a simple businessman. He also knew that this man is ruthless.
Namagitan ang nakakabinging katahimikan sa pagitan nilang apat. Kita niya ang gulat sa mukha ng mag-ina, ang tsino naman ay diretsong nakatingin sa kaniya na para bang binabasa nito kung ano ang tumatakbo sa kaniyang isipan.
"Here's our food!" Anang tinig ng ina ni Honey na nagpa-basag sa katahimikan na namagitan.
Inilapag na ng waiter ang mga pagkain na inihanda ng mga ito sa kanilang mesa. It's all expensive food.

He knew that this old man infront of him is a billionaire. He's definitely aware of that. Ang hindi lang mapaniwalaan ay ang nobya niya. Kung umakto kasi si Honey ay parang simpleng babae lamang ito na kailangan munang pag-ipunan ang isang bagay na gusto nito bago mabili, 'e ang totoo naman ay kaya nitong bumili ng hindi pumupikit.

Nagsimula na silang kumain, all the food that served by the waiter was all chinese dishes. There are few american dish which is steak, but most of them are chinese dishes.
Tahimik ang naging pananghalian nila, hanggang malapit na silang matapos, walang ninuman ang nag-abalang mag-salita. Binibigyan niya ng pagkain ang nobya sa plato nito ngunit ngingitian lamang siya nito na ikinasimangot niya.

Biglang tumaas ang dugo ni Honey sa ginawang panlalait ng ama na lingid sa kaalaman ng nobyo. Sinigawan na niya ito pero hindi siya nito pinansin. Handa na sana siyang harapin ang ama sa unang pagkakataon upang ipagtanggol ang nobyo ng magsalita ito na ikinagulat niya.
"Wǒ rènshí nǐ, Mr. Lao." I do understand you, Mr. Lao.
Gano'n na lamang ang pagkagulat niya ng marinig itong magsalita ng lenggwaheng tsino.

"Y-you can speak C-chinese? You do understand me?" Utal na tanong ng kaniyang ama.

Kairus smiled. "I am an International businessman, Mr. Lao. My investors are from different part of the world. For us to understand each other, we should deal in one language. For the better transaction, i studied different languages. Some of my business colleagues aren't that good in English, so I myself, adjust and study, so that we could have a good conversation."
Hindi lang gulat ang naramdaman ni Honey. Nakaramdam rin siya ng paghanga. She knew that she fall in-love more.

"Really? That's cool of yours." Anang ama na nakabawi sa gulat.
"I'll take as a compliment." Ani nobyo.
Bumuntong hininga muna ang ama niya bago muli nagsalita.
"As I've said, let's go back to our topic earlier. We both know that i know you as a businessman, but the things i knew about you are just limited. So, I just wanted to ask, who are you behind those elegant and fancy suits of yours?" Tanong ng ama sa nobyo sa matigas na Ingles.
"Me? Who am i? Are you asking, who am i?" Pagniniguro ng nobyo habang pasulyap-sulyap sa kaniya.
"Yes."
"Well, i am the boyfriend of your daughter. I can be her husband in the future too."
Malalaking matang napadako ang tingin niya kay Kairus. Her heart beat so fast. Ang walang prenng bibig ng binata ang magiging sanhi ng kamatayan niya!
"What?" Her father was taken aback too.
"I said, i am her boyfriend, soon to be husband of your daughter" He said while staring at her intently.
