Chapter Fifty-Two . . . Forgiveness
Cat's POV
I laid on the couch waiting for Gavin while trying to get Raya to kick. I wanted to feel my baby move more than anything, but she just wasn't ready yet.
"Come on Raya, one kick for mommy." I begged, but it didn't seem to work. "How about we listen to pappy, uncle Ray, and daddy?" I offered.
I quickly got on my laptop and brought up the latest Let's Play. I plugged in my headphones and put them around my belly.
I waited a couple of minutes but got nothing out of her.
I sighed, "Come on baby Raya."
The sound of the door opening made me jump, but I relaxed when I saw that it was just Geoff and Gavin.
"What are you doing?" Geoff asked as both boys walked into the living room and sat down.
Gavin kissed me on the cheek and then noticed the contraption I had made on my belly.
"Wots all this?" He asked.
"I was trying to get Raya to move a little, but she's being stubborn."
"Wow, I wonder where she got that from?" Geoff said sarcastically.
I grabbed the nearest book that I had near me and through it at him.
"Hey!"
Gavin laughed and rubbed my belly gently. "She'll move when she's ready."
"Do you think we should be nervous?"
Gavin shook his head and laid his hand on top of mine.
"You heard the doctor, sometimes babies take awhile to move."
Geoff got up with a stretch and rubbed my belly gently. "Baby Raya will be ready to move in no time, don't panic." He said to me before lowering himself so he could talk to my belly. "Huh Raya?"
I chuckled at him.
"Thanks Pappy."
"Welcome Mommy." He looked at Gavin. "I'm going to bed. Good night guys!"
"Night!"
Geoff went up the stairs and I looked at Gavin who was staring at me.
"What?" I asked as I untangled myself from my headphones.
"You are so beautiful."
I stopped what I was doing and smiled at him.
"You are too."
He put his hands under his chin.
"You really think so?"
I smacked his shoulder playfully and yawned. "Man, I'm tired myself." I said while I got up.
"Wait!"
I stopped and turned to Gavin. "Yes?"
"I want to show you something. Are you really that tired?"
"You want to show me something?" I asked and he nodded slowly. "Well, what is it?" I asked, but he only smiled.
"It's a surprise."
"Okay."
"And you sort of have to drive . . ." He trailed off.
"Okay, where do I have to drive to?"
"Our house."
______________________________________________________
"Gavin if I'm driving all the way to the house for sex, I'm telling you now that I'm not in the mood."
Gavin chuckled at me and shook his head.
"It's not sex?"
I arched and eyebrow and looked his direction for a minute before back at the road.
"Gavin Free is not wanting sex?" I asked. "What has this world come too?"
I pulled into the driveway and each of us got out of the car.
I was about to head to the house when Gavin stopped me.
"What?"
He pulled out a blindfold from out of his pocket and hung it in front of my face with two fingers.
"I'm not really into the whole 'Fifty Shades of Grey' thing, but thanks for the offer."
He gave me a look and I sighed before taking it out of his hands and putting it around my eyes. I turned around and he tied it tightly in the back.
"You're not going to make me fall are you?" I asked as he took my hand and guided me to the door. From then on I didn't know where we were going.
We came to a stop and Gavin's hand left mine.
"Um Gavin?" I called.
There was a sound of a flip of a switch and then suddenly the blind fold was left from my eyes.
"Gavin." I whispered as my hands went to my mouth and tears spilled to my cheeks.
"Do you - do you like it?" He let out.
I didn't speak and instead walked over to him and took him into my arms and held him tight.
Gavin's surprise was Raya's room. The walls were painted white but were decorated with pink flowers. There were hand-made pink, white and black paper flowers hanging on the wall along with a frame with a painted R in it. The crib was wooden and painted white, but the sheets were pink,, white and black with black ribbons with white polka dots hanging on the side. There was a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling. A white chair was sat on the side of the crib along with a book shelf full of books, and finally a white dresser pushed up against the wall.
"How did you do this?" I asked.
"Well, Allie and Lindsay came up with the ideas, and Michael and I did the work."
I pulled away from him and wiped my eyes.
"You think she'll like it?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist and laid his hands on my belly.
"Are you kidding me she's-" I trailed off when it felt like a grasshopper hopped around in my stomach.
"Wot is it? Wot's wrong?" Gavin asked with a concerned voice.
I quickly directed his hands on the feeling.
At first his eyes were confused but then they widened.
"Is she kicking?" He asked.
I nodded. "She really likes this room." I laughed with even more tears in my eyes.
He pulled me into his arms again and Raya kicked more.
"She's really excited." I told him and he rubbed my back.
"I'm so happy." He pulled away and looked at my face. "I did this because I know that you don't fully trust me. This is to show you that I'll be there for you no matter what." He put his hands on my face and kissed my forehead.
"Gavin, I think . . ." I trailed off and thought for a second. "I think I'm ready to forgive you and trust you." I put his hands on my belly again. "Both of us."
I saw tears form in his eyes, and I leaned in to kiss in. "We love you." I told him honestly.
"And I love both of my girls."
We kissed again, and honestly kissing has never been as sweet as it is now.
"Do you want to see the rest of the house?" He whispered against my lips.
I wrapped my arms behind his neck.
"You did the rest of the house by yourself?"
He looked down at the ground with a grin.
"I had some help."
"Help never hurt, love." I whispered. "So do you want to show me the rest of the house?"
Gavin picked me up bridal-style. "We can start with our bedroom."
I rolled my eyes.
"So, when do we move in?" I asked him getting totally serious.
"Whenever you want to."
I thought about Geoff and Griffon, and how much they were a joy to be around
Could we really leave them so fast?"
"Maybe in a little while." I offered and he smiled.
"I agree."
I touched his cheek.
"You know, I think we should break in that bed. You know to make sure it's-"
I didn't finish the sentence due to Gavin running like a maniac to our new bedroom.
God did I love him.
