"hey everly," ej called out as he came up to her in the hallway. everly gave ej an annoyed look and rolled her eyes, "woah? what the hell is your problem?"
"nothing ej, can you just leave me alone!" everly spat and made her towards her locker.
carlos came up to them and saw how mad everly was, "so what are you mad about now?"
"i'm not mad!" everly yelled and slammed her locker as hard as she could. ej and carlos took a step back and looked at everly with shock. everly took a deep breath and sighed, "sorry... just stuff with ricky."
"what now?" carlos asked.
"did you guys see what he got nini last night?" everly spat and rolled her eyes, "god, it's like he likes her or something."
"uhh," ej started to say while everly and carlos raised an eyebrow at him.
"what?"
"ricky told me that he does like her," ej confesses. carlos and everly's jaw dropped to the floors as he continued, "he even told me that the kiss in the play was real. he was never supposed to kiss her."
"i fucking knew it," everly muttered under her breath.
"god, that nini girl is fucking ruining everything," carlos whined. ej and everly nodded their heads agreeing.
"i wanna get back at her," everly breathed out and looked to the side. she thought to herself for a moment before her eyes lit up, "come on!"
"what? what's the idea?" ej asked but everly was already dragging the two boys to the computer lab.
"just come on!" everly exclaimed with excitement in her voice.

nini was by herself, walking through the halls until everly came up next to her, "nini, hey! how are you?"
"oh uhm.. hi everly," nini said with a soft and awkward voice, "i'm okay, how are you?"
"im great, so anyways! you did amazing in the play," everly cooed and gave nini a fake smile, "seems like you and ricky had some real... chemistry up there."
nini's cheeks turned red and she looked to the floor, "oh uh.. yeah. just acting though."
"mhm," everly muttered, "well, i just wanted to let you know that there are no hard feelings. ricky and i are totally over."
"oh well.. that's nice, but ricky and i aren't a thing," nini replied with a smile, "we're just friends."
"hmm.." everly simply said with a cocky smile, "you know, if you wore better clothes and put on makeup — you'd be kinda pretty."
"oh," nini awkwardly said and gave everly a forced smile.
"hey, where's gina?"
"oh, she's in a dance meeting right now.."
"oh cool!" everly exclaimed and pulled nini into the cafeteria, "wanna sit with us at lunch?"
"oh, i don't kno–"
"cool! follow me," everly exclaimed, cutting nini off. she pulled nini into the cafeteria and as nini walked in, she felt everyone's eyes on her.
nini looked around and saw everyone staring at their phones, laughing as hard as they could. they were all looking at nini as their laughs echoed the rooms.
"uh.. what's going on?"
"oh, you don't know?" everly asked nini with a smile. the girl showed her phone to nini and revealed an inappropriate photoshopped picture of nini, "isn't this you?"
nini looked up to see everyone laughing and staring at her. they were all showing each other their phones and making fun of her. the girl didn't know what to do. she was frozen, standing there as tears started to flood her eyes.
"nini!" the girl heard gina yell. nini quickly turned around to see ricky and gina running up her. nini ran as fast she could into ricky's arms. the boy held her as tight as he could as gina rubbed nini's back.
"nini, nini," ricky said over and over to get nini to calm down, but the girl couldn't stop crying. gina's body filled up with anger and she walked up to everly as fast she could.
"everly! what the fuck!" gina screamed and smacked everly's phone down on the floor. the whole cafeteria got silent as they watched everly's phone shatter on the floor. ej and carlos stood next to everly as they tried to comprehend what happened.
"GINA! WHAT THE HELL?" everly screamed and pushed gina backwards. ricky let go of nini and and walked up to all of them.
"DON'T TOUCH GINA," ricky screamed and pointed his finger at everly's face. the girl slapped ricky's hand down and gave him an infuriating look.
"BRO! GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF HER FACE!" ej yelled and stepped in front of everly. gina rolled her eyes and started laughing.
"GOD EJ! OF COURSE!" gina yelled as tears fell down her face, "OF COURSE YOU'RE STICKING UP FOR EVERLY! I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF YOU GUYS WERE SECRETLY FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS, EITHER!"
"WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING?" everly yelled at gina's face. gina scoffed and chuckled.
"im implying that you're a whore, everly, and that you'll do anything for a clout," gina spat in everly's face. ricky started to laugh and ej grabbed him by the shirt.
"you think this is funny, bowen?" ej snapped as he balled his fist in the air.
"do it ej," ricky sternly said and looked at ej right in the eyes, "hit me."
ej inched his hand closer to ricky's face, but let out a deep sigh before letting ricky go. ricky laughed under his breath and turned around to walk back to nini, "i knew you wouldn't fucking hit me."
"what'd you say?" ej spat and grabbed ricky by the shoulder. before ej could do anything, ricky turned around and punched ej right in the face.
the whole cafeteria fell silent as he held onto his face. carlos, everly, gina, and ricky all stared at each in shock as ej laid on the floor.
"come on, ricky," gina said and started to back away from everyone, "let's get out of here."
gina and ej looked at each other one last time before she turned around and grabbed nini, "come on neens, let's go." gina and nini ran out of the cafeteria without another word.
ricky stared at ej as he stood up, "you're gonna regret that ricky!" ricky rolled his eyes and chased after nini and gina as ej yelled after him.
"YOU HEAR THAT BOWEN? WE'RE THROUGH FOR GOOD!" ej yelled, "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THAT!"
