This oneshot has quite a powerful meaning behind it, as it focuses on the beauty of scars. If you have scars, please understand that they are beautiful and that they are a part of you. I have scars from many accidents due to an illness I have to endure so I understand it is hard but I accept them as a part of who I am, and I hope everyone else does too.

Since Shoto had started opening up more after the Sports Festival, he and I had gotten incredibly close. We were best friends, almost inseparable, and spent almost every evening either in his dorm room or mine. I had even been with him on multiple occasions to meet his mum who loved me, although Shoto refused to introduce me to his father which I wasn't bothered by. I wasn't sure I wanted to meet him after everything he had put Shoto through.

Annoyingly I realised after the Stain incident in Hosu city that I had actually fallen for the clueless boy. When I had heard about what happened to the three boys I was excused from the agency I was with and ran straight to the hospital where I shouted at Shoto for ten minutes straight about being reckless before hugging him tightly, which he returned whilst muttering an apology.

Ever since that incident we had gotten closer physically as well as mentally, as we'd hug often and always sit beside one another. It did hurt when girls in the school would approach me and ask if Shoto and I were together because as much as I wanted to say yes, I had to say no. It pained me when girls would attempt to flirt with him in the corridor, but thankfully Shoto would always find an excuse to leave with me by his side. Shoto also seemed to get very protective over me whenever a guy would approach, and Shoto would stand right next to me so he could glare at person intimidatingly.

I had wondered for a while whether to talk to Shoto about my true feelings, but we had such a perfect and solid relationship that I thought it was way too risky to loose.

One Friday afternoon, Momo and I had arranged a girly sleepover in her dorm room. She was my best girlfriend, and we hadn't had a girly night together for a while so I was looking forward to it. Packing up my books I wondered about what films we were going to watch when suddenly a grab on my waist made me jump and turn around sharply. "Shoto! Don't scare me like that!" I exclaimed and he simply chuckled.

"I'm visiting mum tonight, do you want to come?" He asked with a small smile.

"Aw, I'd love to but I'm actually having a sleepover with Momo tonight," I said and a slightly saddened look was cast over his features.

"That won't start until later though, won't it?" He asked.

"Momo says she wants to tutor me first, to help me improve my grades in English," I told him and he pouted.

"I thought I was your personal tutor," he muttered making me giggle.

"Of course you are Sho, it's just Momo and I need some girly time together. I'll see you tomorrow, promise! We can hang out on your balcony," I smiled, pecking him on his cheek quickly. It was something I did often, and he didn't seem to mind. In some cases he encouraged it. I then spotted Momo over his shoulder waiting for me with folded arms. "Say hi to your mum for me!" I added as I ran over to Momo, waving at Shoto as I went. Together, the two of us headed back to the dorm rooms and I collected everything I'd need for this evening, then made my way to Momo's room for the night.

First we spent a good few hours doing work, but I didn't mind it so much as Momo relaxed and knew how to have fun whilst also studying. It wasn't until later that evening when we got onto the classic girly gossiping. I had spent all afternoon wondering whether to tell her of my feelings for Shoto or whether to just keep them bottled up and try my very best to ignore them until they go away. It had been painful though, trying to keep them inside me, and after a moment Momo had noticed I had spaced out. "(y/n)? Everything okay?"

"Huh? O-oh- yeah, yeah, everything's fine," I lied and she picked up on it straight away.

"No it's not. I know you well enough to tell that you're lying. What's bothering you?" She asked, concern evident in her voice.

"Okay... it's probably best to talk to someone about it... I have a crush on Shoto," I admitted. It was the first time I had said it aloud, and it felt good to get it off of my chest. I wasn't sure how Momo would react, but slowly a grin began to appear on her face.

"Finally!" She exclaimed, catching me completely off-guard.

"What do you mean 'finally'?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"I mean you've finally admitted it! I've had my suspicions that you liked him but I thought maybe you were just really close friends. But then all those kisses on his cheek made me think otherwise... I'm glad I was right! Because I'm pretty sure he likes you too-,"

"No, I knew you were going to say that. Not everything is always that perfect, Momo. Just because I like him doesn't automatically mean that he likes me back," I sighed.

"I suppose that's true but you don't see the way he looks at you. It's like you're the only girl in his world," Momo said making me blush.

"I highly doubt that. Plus, he's my best friend, that's all our relationship is ever going to be," I said. "I'd rather stay his best friend then risk loosing him by confessing," I added and Momo sighed.

"(y/n), he-,"

"No Momo, please don't," I interrupted her but she continued.

"He really does seem interested in you," she tried to enforce. I remained silent for a moment, pondering the possibility.

"I think he just sees me as a best friend. I'm okay staying that way, and... and even if he gets a girlfriend, I'll support him," I said, putting on a brave face although the idea was crushing me inside.

"(y/n)..." Momo apparently didn't know what to say.

"I'll be alright, really. Now, how about we choose a film to watch?" I suggested and she smiled, nodding in agreement. I was admittedly distracted throughout the film, wondering if what Momo said about the way Shoto looked at me had any truth behind it. Thankfully though we didn't touch on the subject again, and just carried on with our girly night.

- Timeskip -

It was the next evening and Shoto and I were curled up on his balcony, wrapped in blankets and stargazing into the darkened but clear skies. It was times like these that both of us were able to console in each other about whatever was making us feel low. I felt incredibly special to be the only one he would speak his mind to, and because of this I knew how much he trusted me. It was nights like these that I adored, as we'd often end up cuddled together, both pointing out particularly bright stars and speaking our minds.

Tonight however, I could tell there was something bothering him due to the difference in his quietness. We remained in comfortable silence, looking up at the clear skies but I wanted him to tell me what was bothering him. Usually it was one of three things: his father, his fire quirk or his scar.

"I never asked, how was your mother yesterday?" I asked curiously, leaning my back against the door back into his room and looking over at him. He seemed to wake up from a daydream as he looked over to me, then wearing a slight smile.

"She's okay. She missed you though," he said making me chuckle slightly. Rei and I got on very well, and she often showed me baby pictures of Shoto that she had in her room much to his dismay. I simply stared at the boy, and in particular his scar. He couldn't see the beauty of his scar, even though most of the girls in school fawned over him, but I understood how he felt.

Gently I reached out and cupped his cheek, brushing his scar with my thumb. This action caught him completely by surprise as he turned towards me and I could physically feel his cheeks heating up. I smiled at him, but he still seemed quite taken aback by my actions however he didn't move. I half expected him to flinch and jolt away however he stayed sat down where he was, staring at me as he let me stroke his scar just under his eye. "Shoto, your scar is beautiful." I wasn't afraid to tell him that since it was the truth.

For a moment it looked as though he couldn't say anything. Then he sighed. "How did you know?"

"How did I know it was your scar that was upsetting you? Shoto, I know you well enough to work out these kind of things," I said with a smile, one he slightly reciprocated. "So..."

"I just can't help but think back to the licence exam... when Yoarashi was talking about my scar. He was saying horrible things... but he was right. It is ugly," he mumbled, looking down at the ground. The licence exam had only been a week ago, so I understood why the things that boy said had stuck in his mind. I sighed as Shoto fiddled with the edge of the blanket.

"Sho, your scar, it really is beautiful," I tried to enforce but he just scoffed a little. I etched closer to him then cupped his cheek again, rubbing his scar once more.

"Scars can't be beautiful, (y/n)," Shoto said as he looked into my eyes.

"I believe they can be. I've never told you this before but..." I pulled my hand away and held the hem of my pyjama top. "When I was ten I was in an accident, and this was the result," I pulled up my top, stopping just at my breasts as below them was a long and thick scar which was slightly indented into my body. The skin was a pinky-red colour, and was clearly an odd texture. He stared at it with wide eyes, both surprised and embarrassed.

"How did... how did that happen?" He asked, his voice laced with concern as I pulled down my top again.

"Well, I was ten years old and I was on my way to my friends house who lived down the road..."

I was walking down the empty road towards Kaede's house, as she wanted me to keep her company as her mum went out for groceries. As I was walking down the street I heard loud noises from up ahead, and spotted two men running towards me. It took me a moment to realise that it was a hero chasing a villain, and I froze in fright seeing the villain running directly towards me. I knew I needed to run away, as fast as I could, but I was glued to the floor.

Suddenly the villain had taken ahold of me, and there was on one else around to help me besides the hero. I cried out, begging the hero for help as he came to a halt in front of the situation. The villain was holding a large knife up against me, and I couldn't help but hyperventilate as the tears fell down my cheeks like a waterfall. "Take one more step and the girl dies," the villain growled and I merely whimpered.

"It's okay, you're going to be okay," the hero said to me, however he ignored the villains warning and slowly stepped towards us. Before I realised what was happening, the villain had raised his knife and stabbed me in the right hand side of my torso. Pain ran through my body, pain I had never felt before. I screamed out, falling to the floor as I saw blood leaking from my body quickly. Seconds before I blacked out I saw the figure of the hero above me, on his phone as he knelt down and held onto me.

When I woke up I realised I was in a white room. I was laid upon a bed, and as I tried to move, sharp pains were sent to my torso. I cried out and two figures appeared in my blurred vision. I realised they were my parents. People in white coats came in and fed me some strange syrup whilst also tinkering with a beeping machine next to me. It took me a while to realise I was in a hospital.

The doctors had told me what had happened, and that I had needed many stitches. They told me that I had to stay in hospital for a while, and that my body may go through phases of pain. They told me it would be difficult at first, but that over time my body would recover.

"It was quite a lot for a ten year old girl to take in," I finished telling Shoto my story.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He asked quietly but I merely shrugged.

"Listen, Shoto, you have to accept your scar like I've accepted mine, it hurts me to see you upset because of yours. Everyone has scars, granted some are more obvious then others. Anyone who attempts to belittle anyone because of a scar are not worth your time, they're just the definition of a horrible person. Please, Shoto," I whispered. He was silent for a moment, apparently trying to digest my speech.

"Sorry (y/n)," he mumbled.

"There's nothing for you to be sorry about Sho," I whispered with a smile. At the same time we leaned in for a hug, which felt so warm and passionate. I couldn't help but blush as he wrapped his arms around me tightly, and my heartbeat began to excel as I breathed in his scent. I closed my eyes, taking in the loving feeling of his hold.

Slowly he pulled his body away from mine but our faces remained incredibly close. Still with our eyes closed, our noses and foreheads were touching and both of us were breathing heavily. Without waiting another second, our lips pressed against each other in a passionate and long awaited kiss.

Electric sparks were flying across my body as I tilted my head towards his right side, deepening the passionate kiss. He brought one hand up to run through my hair and placed the other around my waist, pulling me into his warm body. By the way he was kissing me, it seemed as though he had been just as desperate as I was. Our lips only pulled away briefly for breath, before they were back on each others, moving against the others perfectly.

Gently we pulled apart from each other, him still holding onto me tightly as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Sho..." I mumbled under my breath, looking into his heterochromatic eyes.

"Thank you (y/n), for reassuring me about my scar," he whispered, pressing his forehead back up against mine.

"A-anytime," I whispered back and he laughed lightly.

"You know I've wanted to do that for the longest time now," he admitted making me blush even more.

"Same here," I said with a bright smile.

"You're beautiful," he mumbled making me blush bright red.

"Even with my scar?" I said in a teasing tone.

"Especially with your scar," he said, kissing me quickly.

"The same goes to you too, Shoto," I reinforced, cupping his scarred cheek and pulling him in for another deep kiss. This night was definitely going to be a night I would remember for my entire life.
