The practical was next so I had to let go of Katsuki's hand to get ready. He honestly looked disappointed that it was time to let go but I told him I would stand next to him while we waited.
He was fine after that.
I slip on my costume, and realize it has some parts about it that don't really work well with my quirk, maybe I'll get some changes when we work on our main moves.
I headed out to the arena where I see all of the teachers, including Papa and Dad. My eyebrows pull together in worry. They said we were fighting robots.
I shift slightly closer to Katsuki, uncomfortable with how this was playing out in my head.
We would fight the teachers, and that would mean they are already hand picked for all of us. Meaning they stuck us with someone we would have a hard time fighting.
Everyone here was someone I would have a hard time fighting, just because I grew up with them all. I have personal and deep connections with each and every teacher in front of me.
Oh god. This is going against some of my morals. I can't fight family! That's insane!
I think both boys sensed my distress because both of them nudged me. Hoping to get me to calm down. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath and bottle up this feeling.
Doing so I looked like I lost all trace of emotion, feeling stares trailing over me I feel nothing, as if I had become inhuman, or I was putting on a face.
Yawning I return my attention to the teachers, who seemed to have smirks and smiles on their faces, all in their favorite poses. I could tell they were mainly excited.
I just needed to get through this, and then I would never have to do it again.
That's my only concern.
"You will be partnering up to take on a teacher, you will either need to reach the gate and escape to pass, or you will need to fight and handcuff the teacher to win. This is a test on your decision making skills."
I nodded unenthusiastically. But Katsuki looked towards Midoriya and glared at him, making threats to beat and kill him. Just to think he was basically confessing how he liked me nearly 25 minutes earlier. Crazy.
I feel myself heat up a bit a the thought, I still hadn't given him an answer I suppose. But I feel like we're both basically on the same page now.
I do like him, he just doesn't know that yet. I smiled a bit, letting my emotions come back enough to let me enjoy the feeling of liking somebody.
"Lily you're paired with Jiro and will be battling Present Mic." I feel my blood run cold.
Papa?
I had to fight Papa?
Not once, ever, have I fought with Papa, Dad knew this, he must've paired us up with him. I also relatively knew Jiro so this was mainly my connection to Papa that I was going against him.
Damn it.
I go with Jiro to strategize, either way neither of us knew what to do against him. We could easily go deaf really.
I didn't really care, I was mainly immune to his quirk by this point cause he used it so much around the house, for a while Dad thought I was going def.
Nope. Just becoming immune to Papa's quirk. Scared the living daylights outta him.
If only I could see farther I could shut his quirk down immediately so we could get done. But I'm pretty useless.
No. Stop thinking like that. I know where that got me last time.
Before we know it it's our turn, we step out into the forest and into the blaring voice of Papa. He screams as if it's the last day on earth, I watch as Jiro covers her ears.
Thankfully I don't have to because I'm used to it. Just one of the perks of being his daughter.
"How the fuck-," Jiro starts when Papa stops, quickly replaced by his voice again. I wince a bit this time because it was a bit louder than I was used to. "LILY? HOW ARE YOU NOT IN PAIN?!" Jiro screams over Papa.
I shrug, but help her cover her ears, she was sensitive because her quirk includes them, so I could only be sympathetic towards her right now.
"YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHOS NOT HAVING A PROBLEM! YOU NEED TO CANCEL HIS QUIRK!" I shake my head.
I can't I'm not helpful right now! I can't even see him! "LILY! PLEASE! YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE!" I wince at the blood coming from her ears at this point.
I start tearing up, gingerly grabbing her ears as my Papas screaming stops, "You're getting hurt cause I don't have confidence in myself.. I'm so sorry.." I whisper.
She looks at me in confusion, probably not being able to hear me. My face becomes pained.
"YOU CAN DO THIS!" She screams. And slowly my eyes widen, somebody I barely talked with, who hangs out with a lifelike pikachu, believes... in me.

"You've got this my little Listener! Papa and Dad will be right here with you!"
"Don't worry about it.... practice again. You are not a failure for a few mistakes."
"Something... more... something... deeper.."
"Fight back! You've got this!"
"Auntie Nemi has got your back, I Promise! Family comes first right?"

Jiro is right. I can do this. I have my entire family and Katsuki behind me right? I'll be the greatest hero, trained by them all, supported, loved.
I can do this.
One little mistake can't keep me down.
I nod and pulled her sideways, to where she was out of the direct line of Papas quirk. I then asked her if she can hear where he is.
"About 70 meters that way," she pointed towards the area she heard Papa. "We need to sneak around, I have a feeling we are getting low on time."
I nodded. We've got this.
We headed around the outer ring of the arena quickly while we listened to where Papas screams were coming from. Jiro led the way and when we got close enough for me to see we hid in the bushes.
"I'll cancel his quirk while you use my capture weapon to get him still, then I'll handcuff him. Sound good?" She smirked and I smiled.
I handed my capture weapon to her and then put myself in Papas line of sight. Distracting him, I saw from the corner of my eyes, Jiro get closer to capture point.
"What are you doing little listener?" He says before I smirk.
"Gaining confidence."
He breathed in and then screamed, I quickly activated my own quirk and canceled his, Jiro pounced, tying him up in my capture weapon, I then run up to the pair and slip the cuffs on him.
Jiro cheered once they were on, and put her hand up for me to high five, I happily complied and cheered.
"NICE JOB LILY!" She screamed, I snickered, she could still barely hear. Which made me ask how she heard my plan? How? She was def.
I just shrug it off as a coincidence and headed back to the watching room while Jiro was taken to Recovery Girl.
On my way there I see Katsuki leaning up against a wall, a furious look on his face. I skip over, "Not too happy about you partner I suppose?"
He shakes his head, surprisingly calm with me. I grab his hand and he sighs, relaxing to my touch. "Don't worry, I know you'll win." I smile and hear him chuckle.
"Of course I will, I'm the fucking best. Wait- I WASNT WORRYING!" I laugh at his reaction, and simply enjoyed the quiet time with him.
We sat against the wall, his hand was in mine while I played with his fingers. The breeze blowed softly while the sun sent warm rays down onto our faces.
I kept my eyes trained on his hand while I played with it but knew he was stealing glances at me, he tucked one of my loose pieces of hair behind my ear gingerly. As if he were scared I would break at the wrong move.
I sighed in content and leaned my head against his shoulder smiling with a giddy feeling building in my stomach.
I definitely liked Bakugou Katsuki.
