Author's POV
Rey stopped the car in front of his house, getting down he moved to her side to open the door for her but before that she got down, he shook his head at her fake attitude behaviour. Both of them walked towards the main gate of the house.
He rang the bell and glanced beside him, she was standing there with nervousness visible on her face, she was continuously fidgeting with her fingers not knwoning what will happen. Wanting to calm her down he held her hand in his startling her, she looked at him shocked, giving her an assuring smile he said,
"Don't worry they are gonna love you."
They were lost in each other's eyes that they never realized when the door opened, Avantika who has rushed to open the door eager to meet Taani looked at both of them standing there staring at each other. She smiled big seeing the young couple, her eyes moved towards Taani, his mother's eyes gleamed in happiness seeing the girl he loves, Avantika could say that they were so much in love looking at them.
Wanting to grab their attention she cleared her throat bringing taarey out of their world. Their heads snapped in her direction, Rey passed a sheepish smile seeing Avantika passing him teasing smile, while Taani smiled awkwardly being caught by his mother like this. Cursing herself she greeted her,
"Namaste aunty!"
Avantika looked at her surprised when Taani greeted her folding her hands, that's rare nowadays while Rey gave his mother an I-told-you-about-her-manners look. Smiling wide Avantika hugged Taani making the girl surprised,
"Namaste beta." Breaking the hug she urged both of them inside,
"Andar aao dono."
All of them walked inside where Ranvijay was sitting, Taani greeted him the same way making him smile wide, he hugged her lovingly which Taani could see as both his parent's hugs were very warm and comforting as if she is hugging her parents.
"Taani, Rey ne jitna tumhare bare mein bataya sab kam tha, you are more beautiful than he told us."
Ranvijay told her looking at the girl, she blushed at his compliment while Rey smiled proudly happy that his parent's liked Taani.
"Yes, specially in this saree. You look amazing."
Avantika too complimented her when remembering something Taani frowned but replaced it with an awkward smile,
Weren't they supposed to not like me in traditional outfit, Rey said they do not like those type of girls.
Rey knew what she was thinking about looking at her expressions which were changing continuously, he tried to stifle his laugh while both his parents looked ta her in amusement, Rey gestured them about the plan through his eyes making them nod in understanding cursing their son for making them do this with Taani.
"You really liked the outfit?"
Taani asked confused if she heard right or not, Rey was having a hard time keeping a straight face when Taani's face ashened hearing Avantika,
"Of course bachha, you look so pretty, in fact humne socha bhi nahi tha you would be into traditional clothing as most girls nowadays don't like it."
Taani could do nothing but pass another small smile to them thinking what is she supposed to do now, she was in her own thoughts when Ranvijay's question brought her back into the real world,
"Taani beta, kuch batao apne bare mein. How's everything going in life?"
"Everything is going great uncle. Abhi apni studies complete kar rahi hu along with training in our business."
"That's great! And Rey told us you are really good in business along with cooking and other household chores. That's a rare combination."
Avantika said admiringly, Taani blushed at the compliments she was getting but internally cursed her luck,
What the fuck is happening! They are not supposed to like me, Taani kuch kar isse pehle Rey ke parents impress ho jaye or shaadi pakki ho jaye.
"No aunty, there is nothing like that, business to main thoda bahot tauji ki guidance se kar leti hu, and cooking bhi itni achhi nahi hai. Just normal."
Rey immediately came in between,
"Mom, Taani is lying, vo kya hai na, she doesn't like someone praising her. Vo amazing hai inn sab kaam mein, cooking, cleaning, business everything. Just perfect."
Taani passed him an angry glare while he smiled at her over sweetly pissing her off more.
"Really, I am really happy. Rey you fulfilled our wish hume tumhare liye koi aisi hi ladki chahiye thi, who is so beautiful and perfect in everything."
Avantika said to Taani who looked like a deer caught in headlights,
Yrr aaj jab first time chahti hu that people don't like me, to main sabko pasand aa rahi hu. Kya karu, jaldi kuch soch Taani.
But before she could do something Ranvijay said,
"Bhai hume to tum bahot pasand ho. In fact itni ki I can't wait for you both to get married. Ek kaam karte hai, Rishi se baat karke do din mein sagai or ek hafte mein shaadi karwa dete hai."
Taani's eyes popped out hearing him while Rey discretely passed him a thumbs up throwing flying kisses at his parents,
"Haan Taani, jaldi shaadi karke yahan aa jao or ghar sambhal lo. Vese bhi college to khatm hi hone vala hai, perfect time for both of you to get married and settle down."
Rey was jumping in joy seeing her expressions, although he had no plans of marrying her this early, they both have so much to achieve before that, he just asked his parents to say all this as a part of his plan.
"Or haan jitni jaldi shaadi hogi utni jaldi hum promote hoke grand parents banege. Ek saal ke ander ha plz. We really want to see your kids soon."
Taani was stoned was an understatement, Rey had a hard time in controlling his laughter now, both hearing his mother who was occasionally passing him angry glares and taani who just wanted to run for the hills. When he asked his parents to act like this he never knew they will be this good.
Wow Mom-Dad, amazing! Akhir parents kiske hai.
He thought raising his invisible collar and looked at taani who was sitting lost. The image Rey portrayed of his parents was different from what was in front of her, what she didn't knew was that both the faces were fake in fact they were the coolest parents on earth. However Taani was hell confused right now to react.
Ye kya ho raha hai, ek hafte mein Rey se shaadi. Or ek saal mein bachhe. Ye sab kese? That's not what I want.I don't want this marriage. Atleast not like this. Please Krishna ji make this all a dream. Ab utha dijiye mujhe iss dream se, ye sab nahi chahiye mujhe. Abhi to main khud bachhi hu, mere bachhe, kese?
"Taani? Bête thik ho tum?"
She turned to Ranvijay who looked ta her concerned, she nodded in agreement not wanting to disrespect them, although Ranvijay and Avantika were acting and they meant nothing they said, but they could tell the poor girl was shocked right now, they admired her respect for them that she didn't for once snapped at both of them in anger even though she didn't agreed to whatever they said. She just sat their silently listening to them, if it was any other girl she would have snapped at them angrily long back. They were happy at Rey's choice, not because she was listening to them like an obedient daughter-in-law but because they could tell the girl was really loving and respectful towards her elders.
"Uncle ye sab bahot jaldi nahi hai?"
Taani asked them hesitatingly, when Avantika shook her head,
"Jaldi kahan hai beta, tumhari age mein I had Rey. So it's decided hum kal hi date fix karlete hai."
She cursed her son in her mind for making her do this, Taani has finally had it enough, all the emotions she was controlling coz of confusion and being overwhelmed came out, small tears came in her eyes and she let out a sob startling Rey who was sitting beside her.
He jumped in his place seeing her crying, cursing himself for making her cry. Both his parents were startled to when they saw the Taani sobbing like that. Their heart ached seeing tears in her eyes, although they met her for the first time they felt an attachment to her, as if she was their daughter. A need to protect her from the big bad cruel world rose in them just like Swayam, Rey and Taani's family feels towards her.
Rey immediately cupped her face saying,
"Shh shh jaan. Why are you crying? Look at me? Kya hua?"
But Taani continued sobbing, he hid her in his arms who was crying continuously,
"Mujhe aapse abhi shaadi nahi karni. I thought main sabko pasand nahi aaungi, but yahan to ulta hi ho gaya."
She said innocently, Rey's lips curved in a smile hearing her. She was so innocent while his parents were in awe of her. Before Rey could say something he felt a sharp pain in his ear, he winced looking at his mother who was pulling his ear tightly,
"Oww Mom. Mom plz chodiye dard ho raha hai."
"Dard ho raha hai, idhar aao bachhu tumhe to main batati hu. Taani bête rona band karo jo sab humne kaha vo jhoot tha......"
She said holding Rey tightly by his ear while Taani looked at them confused, Ranvijay too stood up slapping Rey making him whine and going to Taani he hugged her sideways,
"haan beta, ye iss nalayak ne humse karwaya. Isse pata tha tumhe shaadi nahi karni so he made this plan jahan tumhe lage hum tum dono ki shaadi abhi karwa rahe hai. And he made us a part of the plan too."
Avantika twisted his ear more making him wince in pain more,
"Owww, Mom. Plzz plzz chodiye na."
While Taani's eyes widened realizing all this was a plan, she frowned at him who was passing her a sheepish smile,
"Haan Taani, or plzzz bachhe, vo ek saal mein bacho vali baat bhi jhoot thi. Hum log koi zabardasti nahi karenge kabhi tumhare sath. Tum hamari beti hi ho. Jab tum dono ka shaadi ka mann hoga tab hi hum shaadi karenge. Or sare marzi tumhari, tum dono ki life hai after all."
Avantika told her slapping Rey's hand in between who was trying to loosen her hold on his ear, she twisted it a little more when his ear went red, Taani not able to control herself said,
"Maa, chod dijiye naa inhe. Dekhiya na ear kitna red ho gaya. Plzzz"
All three of them looked at her amused while Taani bit her tongue, his parents smiled at her care while Rey was smiling bigger. All the pain was long forgotten, but what anyone didn't noticed was what she called his mother apart from Avantika herself, leaving his ear she said,
" Say once more what you said."
Taani looked at her confused repeating,
"Unka ear red hogaya hai."
Avantika smiled shaking her head,
"Not that, jo tumne mujhe bulaya."
Taani finally realized what she was asking and said,
"Maa!"
Tears came in the both their eyes, avantika hugged Taani tightly caressing her head, Rey's smile grew seeing the two most important ladies of his life together. She broke the hug and caressed Taani's head once more,
"I am so happy with Rey's choice, but the most I am happy about is that you love my son. He is so lucky to have you in his life. And ab tum humesha mujhe Maa bulaogi, aunty nahi."
Taani nodded when ranvijay said embracing both the ladies,
"And mujhe Papa, Dadda, Daddy or anything you want."
He kissed Taani's head lovingly making Rey pout,
"Ye kya ab beti mil gayi to mujhe bhul gaye! Meri hug or kiss kahan hai?"
Avantika gestured him forward laughing and he too embraced both the ladies from other side making Taani stiff suddenly. The group hug soon broke and Ranvijay slapped Rey's head,
"Ab sun, agar tune Taani ko rulaya to main tera vo haal karunga jo kabhi dream bhi nahi kiya hoga."
Rey nodded obediently and looked at her who was still angry at him for the prank and was not even looking at him.
"Taani beta tumne maaf to kardiya na. Vo abhi iss prank ke liye."
Avantika asked her hesitatingly, Taani shook her head in denial not wanting her to apologise,
"Aree of course maa, main naraz thi hi nahi aap dono se. I know bas prank tha. I am sorry too maine bhi over react kiya."
Avantika kissed her forehead and Ranvijay joked,
"Or Taani plz jo bhi iss gadhe ne tumhe hamare bare mein bola hai usse bhul jana. Hum tumhare parents hi hai, jese tum apne ghar rehti thi vese hi yahan bhi reh sakti ho." Taani nodded when Avantika told her,
"Haan ab tum plzz change karlo, as much as you look beautiful in this saree I want you to be comfortable and enjoy dinner with us. Tumhare paas spare clothes hai?"
"Nahi! I don't have any."
Taani told her when Rey said,
"Aree there is, I got a dress for you one day. It's in my room. You can change there."
Avantika smiled brightly ushering,
"Great! Taani you go change, Rey isse le jao tab tak I'll ask servants to plate dinner."
Nodding taarey went upstairs to his room while his parents smiled brightly,
"They look so goo together!"
Ranvijay said admiring the couple, his wife smiled in agreement,
"Hmm, hope whatever differences are between them they solve soon."

Same time (Jodhpur)
Ranawat Mansion
Parth was in his room when his intercom rang, he picked it up and heard one of his men was on the call,
"Sir, there is a news!"
Parth hummed asking him to continue,
"That guy Reyansh's parents are here to meet her, she is right now in his house with them. They both are going tomorrow evening back to New York."
He smirked hearing this,
"Good! Tumhe pata hai kya karna hai, vo New York ke liye nikle but make sure pahonche nahi."
The man on the other side answered in affirmation and Parth cut the call. Rotating the intercom on the table he said devilishly,
"Maine kaha than a Reyansh Singhania, tumhe tinka-tinka karke marunga. Tumne mujhse meri Taani chinne ki koshish ki, I'll steal everything which you love and care about in life. Aaj akhiri baar mil lo apne parents se, kya pata kal vo ho na ho."
He laughed aloud imagining Rey breaking down bit by bit.
