Taehyung's sudden feelings of elation at his mother's words died at Jungkook's question. The harsh tone in his voice still ringing in the heavy silence that followed as Taehyung approached Jungkook, even against the nurse's advisement. Before Taehyung could say anything about the current situation, Jungkook's gaze bore deep into Taehyung's soul with a piercing cut. "I need to be alone right now. I don't want to talk about it until I'm ready," Jungkook spat, crossing his arms over his chest and turning his head away from Taehyung.
Taehyung's eyes wavered with deep emotion as he nodded sullenly, taking several steps back from Jungkook's bed. Before Seokjin could stand up and say anything, Taehyung bolted from the nurse's office. Jungkook flinched as if to move to chase after Taehyung until he locked eyes with the nurse. "Are you not going to chase after your fiancé ?" Jungkook asked, venom in his words as he turned away once more. Jungkook was trying desperately not to show that this had severely hurt him as Seokjin stood beside his bed calmly.
Seokjin rubbed his own arm nervously, gathering his courage as he'd done at Namjoon's apartment. "You know, the engagement to that nurse wasn't Taehyung's choice, right? His father demanded that since he couldn't straighten out, he was going to be forced to call the nurse his fiancé..." Seokjin started explaining, earning that same cutting glare from Jungkook. Although Jungkook remained silent as he waited for Seokjin to continue his explanation. It wasn't like they knew each other well enough for Seokjin to be able to say much about the situation.
"I've been blindly chasing the same guy for seven years, overwhelmed by my love for him. He wasn't as blind as you are towards Taehyung though because you just seem to brush aside his feelings. As if they don't exist to you and if you don't start treating Taehyung right... He won't be single for long. He's a very desirable man that anyone would love to get their hands on. I've seen the way Hobi's been eyeing him recently. You're just lucky he picked you," Seokjin added, glancing over at Hyungwon before turning his attention back towards Jungkook to see his angry expression falter.
"You don't seem to understand the amount of anxiety I feel about being in a relationship. I don't want to lose the freedoms that I have while I'm single," Jungkook expressed, his tone softer as he cast his eyes downward. "And it isn't fair that he's compelled me to fall in love with him only to learn that he's engaged to someone else," Jungkook added as Seokjin noticed the teary eyes of a lovelorn man. Seokjin opened his mouth to speak and then closed his mouth once again before turning towards Hyungwon. "Do you mind giving us a moment? I really think this is a private conversation," Seokjin declared, watching as Hyungwon rolled his eyes and shut himself in his back office.
Seokjin turned towards Jungkook once more with a serious yet soft expression. "Look, Taehyung and his mother are going to find a way around this stressing situation. So if I were you, I'd make him my boyfriend before the nurse even has a chance to ask him on a date. Tae likes you. A lot. I know just by watching the way he interacts with you or talks about you. His eyes light up like Christmas lights. It's really cute," Seokjin cooed, losing his train of thought before he cleared his throat in embarrassment. "I just know that... You two would honestly make an amazing couple. I don't want that to slip past Tae because you don't know how long people have on this earth and... it's best to take advantage of the situation. Taehyung would do anything for you right now to make this up to you. Demand he takes you on a date or something, I'm positive he'd do so," Seokjin added, giggling as Jungkook smiled softly at Seokjin's words. "So I'm going to find him and allow you two to talk this out," Seokjin exclaimed, turning towards the door to leave hastily.
Jungkook watched as Seokjin left, waiting patiently for him to find Taehyung and bring him back to the nurse's office. He silently thought of what he'd say to get Taehyung to not only forgive him but agree to date him without being rejected. The thought of rejection was what terrified Jungkook the most about relationships. He sighed softly to himself, lost so deep in thought that he didn't realize how long it had been when someone knocked lightly on the door.
Jungkook looked up to see Seokjin dragging Taehyung back into the nurse's office, despite his protests and tear-streaked face yet again. Jungkook felt a twinge of guilt when he heard Taehyung whisper hoarsely to Seokjin about how Jungkook didn't want to see him right now. Jungkook reached out towards Taehyung, clasping his arm firmly in his hand as he pulled Taehyung towards him. He urged Taehyung into his lap and promptly wrapped his arms around the elder, planting his chin on Taehyung's slender shoulder. "Please," Jungkook pleaded softly in Taehyung's ear. "Hear me out."
Seokjin smiled as Taehyung's cheeks flushed bright red and he waved towards Jungkook and Taehyung before leaving the room. "G- go ahead then," Taehyung stuttered, allowing Jungkook the opportunity to speak. "I'm sorry about what I said earlier. Your friend--"
"Seokjin. That's who you were talking to," Taehyung interrupted as Jungkook nodded softly against Taehyung's shoulder. He tenderly placed a chaste kiss on Taehyung's exposed shoulder, looking up into his eyes before continuing once more. "I know that if we don't talk this out now, it's only going to create problems between you and me," Jungkook mumbled softly, still resting his chin on Taehyung's shoulder. "Seokjin told me that it wasn't your choice to get engaged to the nurse... I- I know I didn't listen to you when you first tried to explain it, but I needed to cool my head for a few minutes before continuing any conversation," Jungkook admitted softly, flushing from his own childishness. "Or I might have said something I would certainly regret later..."
Taehyung remained seated in Jungkook's lap, listening to his words as he glanced over at him to see how close Jungkook was to his face. Taehyung flushed bright red as he turned to face Jungkook and sit beside him on the bed instead. "I- It was my father's decision," Taehyung whispered softly, a flood of complicated emotions attacking him as he wrapped his arms around Jungkook and cuddled into him. Jungkook smiled softly and wrapped Taehyung in his arms, allowing the smaller male to cuddle into him as he continued. "Yeah... Seokjin told me that too. So, you know how you can make it up to me?" Jungkook asked mischievously, intertwining their legs together.
Taehyung froze, thinking it was going to be something inappropriate. Although, he would do anything Jungkook asked to make it up to him. "What's that?" Taehyung asked softly, waiting for Jungkook to answer. Most of his bruises had healed by now and it wasn't like they hadn't entertained each other since that promise, but if Jungkook requested anything sexual as a make-up gift, Taehyung wouldn't refuse. Jungkook smiled and held Taehyung tighter against him as he inhaled sharply before speaking. "You can take me on a date," Jungkook declared, smiling down at a shell shocked Taehyung. "You would pay for it though," Jungkook added teasingly, trying to make a joke.
"Of course," Taehyung answered excitedly, his eyes lighting up like a sky full of fireworks. "I wouldn't make you pay for anything anyway since I'm making up with you," Taehyung added, nodding vigorously in agreement to his own statement. Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle at Taehyung's adorable nature, his smile fading slightly. "It was only a joke, but I won't fight with you on it either," Jungkook announced, laughing as he cleared his throat. "And... if the date goes well... I may just have to consider being your boyfriend," Jungkook mumbled the last part as Taehyung whipped his head around to stare up at Jungkook. He couldn't believe what he'd just heard, but Jungkook was still mumbling and rambling on as his face grew redder and redder.
Taehyung felt tears sting his eyes as Jungkook froze completely. "Why are you crying, Tae?" Jungkook asked with deep concern, wondering if he'd said something wrong again. Taehyung shook his head as his tears trickled down his cheeks with a large, boxy smile spreading across his face. "You don't know how happy that made me," Taehyung sobbed out softly, crumpling into Jungkook's embrace as Jungkook soothingly rubbed his back. "So, they're happy tears then?" Jungkook asked nervously, still rubbing Taehyung's back soothingly.
Before Jungkook could react, Taehyung had tilted his face up towards Jungkook and kissed him softly. "Then I'll try to make this such an amazing date that you won't consider any other option, but to date me," Taehyung asserted as Jungkook chuckled. Jungkook leaned down and kissed Taehyung softly once more, forgetting just how sick he felt with Taehyung beside him. Nothing could bother him when Taehyung was with him. "That was also a joke, Tae," Jungkook laughed, halting Taehyung in his actions immediately. Taehyung felt a surge of pain and complicated emotions at those words, like pinpricks to the shards of his already shattered heart. He felt tears again, this time of a different kind as Jungkook continued. "I wouldn't have to consider anything. I- I kind of already know that I want to be your boyfriend," Jungkook added, mumbling once again in embarrassment as his face flushed once more.
Taehyung felt elation suddenly rush him once again as he cupped Jungkook's face and kissed him heatedly. Throwing Jungkook off, it took him a moment before he closed his eyes and kissed Taehyung back. The elder tilted his head back slightly, allowing Jungkook to deepen the kiss as he moaned softly and rubbed up against Jungkook's thigh in desperation and need. Jungkook pulled away from Taehyung, panting from how heavy the kiss was as he cleared his throat in embarrassment. Taehyung panted softly as well, wanting more of Jungkook but Jungkook held him at a distance for the moment as he tried to catch his breath. "Damn, Tae," Jungkook whispered, still panting softly as he met Taehyung's heated gaze. "That was really fucking sexy, but I'm not feeling up to the challenge," Jungkook remarked, wincing slightly from the pain as he still tried to catch his breath.
Taehyung nodded softly as he cuddled into Jungkook once more, his arms wrapped lazily around Jungkook's waist. "I- I'm sorry... I just got so excited. Does this mean you're my boyfriend then?" Taehyung asked meekly, staring up at Jungkook with big doe eyes. Jungkook laughed softly as he wrapped his arms around Taehyung tightly and stroked his hair tenderly. "Yes, I'll be your boyfriend, Tae. It'll be the biggest fuck you to your father," Jungkook declared, turning Taehyung's head to kiss him tenderly and sweetly once more.
When they pulled away from each other, Taehyung couldn't help but giggle at Jungkook's words. Jungkook was right about that, but one thing came to Taehyung's mind amidst all his giggling as he turned towards Jungkook. "Um, wh- what made you change your mind? If you don't mind my asking," Taehyung whispered politely, fiddling with his fingers in embarrassment. His cheeks felt hot as he waited for an answer as Jungkook kissed him on his cheek and his already heated face turned an even darker shade of red.
Jungkook smiled softly at Taehyung's reaction, finding it incredibly adorable as he laid his head on Taehyung's shoulder for balance. "I don't mind you asking," Jungkook noted, grabbing Taehyung's hand and intertwining their fingers together. "It was something Seokjin said. He not only said we'd make an amazing couple, but he was the one that told me to demand a date from you. He also commented on how I should snatch you up before somebody else does," Jungkook whispered softly, side glancing Taehyung as his cheek still rested on Taehyung's shoulder. "It made me think. Really hard about how I don't want to lose you... I- I've been really selfish about what's going on between us and I expected things from you without really giving anything in return. So I want to return those feelings towards you because I'd rather be with you than lose you to someone else. Technically, I know I'm not playing fair by coercing you to choose me over your father's handpicked fiancé over there, but I promise that if you do choose me, I'll do everything within my being to make sure you don't regret your choice."
Taehyung stared at Jungkook with large, watery doe eyes as a boxy smile spread across his face once more. "Oh, Kookie," he cooed softly, sniffling as more happy tears flooded his cheeks. "I'll always choose you," he whispered tenderly, squeezing Jungkook's hand in his own as he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Jungkook's lips. Jungkook gently wrapped his arm around Taehyung's waist, cupping his face as he kissed him deeply until they heard the sound of someone deliberately clearing their throat.
