When Shoupe told us that my brother and Sarah were gone, I broke down in tears and felt my whole world fall apart. However, when I somehow got the strengh I needed to take a deep breath and calmed myself down, I realized something.
I was feeling fine.
I could clearly remember the feeling I had when my brother was being drowned by Topper. I could clearly remember the feeling I had when again, Topper tried to kill him shoving him off the Hawk's Nest.
And this time, it felt different. Something inside me still had hope and was begging me to not crumble.
I looked around me. Everyone was still crying, sobbing and lamenting for John B and Sarah. And it just felt weird. I just wipped out the tears from my cheeks and stared at the storm outside the tent.
That's how I realized. Something clicked inside me and that was the moment I knew.
