"I want that one!" Sparks shouted, finger accusing the sky.

I softly chuckled and shifted my head towards her. She looked back at me with approval.

"Go ahead, take it." I assured her.

"Yess!"

"As long as I get that one." I raised my finger pointing towards a blinking one.

Sparks looked at me with a slight expression of disgust. "That one? But it's dying..."

I lowered my hand, eyes still lingering on the flickering star.

"Well, all stars are dying... they're kind of like people. They shine so bright just before they lose everything. And by the time the light is gone for good, it's entirely too late to save them..." I trailed off.

Sparks didn't respond, instead giving me a side glance and looking back up to the sky, my words sinking in.

"Let's both pick out a star." I suggested in attempt to change the dulled mood I had caused. "Ok!" She beamed.

A few moments passed, and I secretly let Sparks do all the scavenging. She seemed to enjoy it too much that I'd rather watch than budge in.

Her eyes lit up when she spotted the 'perfect' one. "This one!" she exclaimed. I leaned towards her looking down her arm where her finger pointed. My eyes caught a bright steady light. It was a good star.

"Perfect." I assured her.

"Our Star." Sparks held out her pinkie for me to take. I smiled to myself, hooking my pinkie around hers, sealing the vow.
....................................

My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the lighting in the room. I outreached my arms and legs letting them loosen from my slumber, slightly arching my back. I gently rubbed my left eye and assured myself the bandage was still secure on the other.

Wow. I cant I remember ever sleeping that well. Hm, maybe it's the bed.

I pulled the sheets off of me, hanging my legs off the edge of the bed. A shiver ran down my spine as my feet met with the floor, my half bare legs adjusting to the cold atmosphere.

I hugged my bare arms, "It's freezing in here."

I looked over to the bedside table at the holopad device. The clock read "7:07." My mind stirred up the memory of Kylo saying to meet him for training at "7:00," and i'm pretty positive he isn't a patient man.

"Shit."

I quickly rushed out of the bed towards the living area, snatching up the training attire. I ripped off the nightgown letting it fall the the floor, quickly urging the black legging-like pants up my legs.

The remainder of the attire were leather wrist gauntlets, a black turtle neck shirt, and knee high leather boots. I topped it all off by pulling my platinum hair into a low ponytail.

I busted through the doors of my quarters and was surprised at the lack of stormtroopers guarding my cell. I suppose the Commander ordered them away? Whatever, right now I needed to figure out where the training room was.

Why couldn't he not be a dramatized man for one second, and given me more thorough directions and maybe I wouldn't be lost and late.

I quickly made the decision to go left out of the corridor, rounding a corner or two. By the time I maneuvered around my 4th corner, I had collided into sturdy object.

I loudly gasped, my wrist was in the clutch of Kylo Ren, and I dared to meet the gaze of his mask, feeling the anger radiating off of him.

"Late." he seethed through the mask.

"I'm sorry commander, I don't know how I over slept, I have a hard time sleeping, a-and last night was one of the fir-" my rambling was cut off when his grip tightened around my wrist fast.

I slightly gawked at the pain, switching my eyes back and forth between him and his hand. The pain automatically turned into something else.

I slowly raised my glare towards the black slits. "Let. Me. Go." I spoke through gritted teeth.

Silence passed between us both, before he abruptly dropped his grip and my arm swung to my side. I took my wrist in my hand, caressing the soreness.

He then strode off down the hallways without giving a second glance. I didn't hesitate to catch up with him hoping my little moment didn't piss him off too much.

He walked with reason the whole way there. He stopped upon two sliding doors to which opened at his arrival. I scurried in before they could close again.

I took a look around the gym-like room. It was a replica of what we use to train in under Vex's lessons. It was only accompanied by a few weapon racks, metal table, a couple exercise equipments, and mats that covered parts of the floor.

"Here." he pointed at the center of one of the mats, waiting for me to approach.

"We're gonna see where you're at with hand on hand combat."

My specialty, I smirked to myself.

He didn't waste time before he grabbed one of my wrists, twisted me around so my back as to his torso, and kicked me down to the ground with his boot on my spine.

A small cry escaped my lips once my knees made contact with the mat. Jesus this is gonna be hell.

"Up."

I looked back up at him, nervousness radiating from me, pushing myself up off the mat. It was a lot more intimidating with him wearing the mask. To be completely honest it was scary. Sure, taking down a person doesn't seem that bad, but with the robotic touch of the mask, it was too inhuman to belittle him as much as a mortal man.

About twenty minutes in, and I still hadn't managed to block a single move he threw my way. He really wasn't going to spare me any mercy.

After knocking me down for the seventh time, my anger finally started to bubble. This time I wasn't going down so easily.

He reached for my forearm while raising his knee to hit me in the rib, but I blocked his grasp to my best ability. I could feel the surprise ripple through him. I took his distraction as an opportunity to slam my elbow into his abdomen.

His stomach quaked at the impact, slightly bending over. I backed up and raised my leg. I arched my knee, preparing to kick him down, when he grabbed my foot first with one hand, but then both and threw me across the floor.

I crashed into one of the weapon racks and some rods fell on top of me. I winced at the contact, quickly averting my gaze over to where he was standing, not wanting to get distracted before his next move.

He was walking over to me, not too fast, but not too slow. I quickly squirmed and tried to push the equipment off of me, before he could reach me.

Right before I could push off the last rod, I saw a gloved hand stretched out to me. I slowly ran my eyes up the sleeve and my uncovered eye met with the mask.

I hesitantly went to grab it, looking up at the mask emerging my attention stern. Once I was back on my feet, I dropped my grip from his hand, and he gestured for me to return to the mat.

And sure enough, right before I could meet with the mat again, I felt two large hands apply an excessive force to my shoulder blades, and push me to the ground.

"Your too easily persuaded."

I looked up through knotted brows, eyes filled with fury.

I pushed up off my palms and stanced myself for preparation for the next move, challenging him.

My turn.

He took my newfound determination as an amusement. He prepared in his stance as well. I saw one muscle finch in his arm, and that's all it took for me to launch myself at him, sparing no second for me to unleash my anger.

I maneuvered my legs legs on top of his arms, restricting them from movement, and locked my grip around his neck. I squeezed with every inch of power in me, eyes burning holes into the shields of the mask.

I snapped out of my trance, strength faults ring for the slightest of seconds, allowing Kylo to flip our position so he was above me, this time returning the favor of blocking my airway.

His hands were big enough to wrap around my whole neck overlapping each other, giving him and advantage to squeeze it until it snapped. However, he wasn't going to kill me. Why would he? He brought me here to train, to get stronger, not to waste his time and take out some rage on me.

Even though I knew he'd stop, I didn't enjoy just sitting here being strangled, so I began smacking his biceps, letting him know I was done.

At first he didn't hesitate, then he gave a quick shove and released my neck. I coughed and coughed, until my breathing was stable again. I looked up at him, rubbing my throat.

"Pathetic."

I was hurt by the comment, returning my gaze to the floor out of shame.

"You'd rather surrender than fight back." He began to walk away.

"Excuse me?" I caught myself as I rose back up from the floor.

He turned back around to me, not speaking a word.

"Surrender? You think I would just give up like that in battle?!" I began to inch my way towards him. "That i'm weak and pathetic? If i'm not mistaken your throat was under my grip before I stopped to SPARE YOU!" I didn't hold back tasing my voice. He was NOT going to accuse and belittle me, without hearing my word.

"Spared me?! Would you spare an enemy in battle??" he retaliated, making his way in front of me.

"This isn't battle, we're training, or whatever you call this shitty excuse for taking out your anger issues on me!" I yelled in the face of the mask.

If I had moved an inch more my nose would've been touching the cold metal that covered whatever being was underneath it. I stared into the slits searching for any sign of human. I wasn't backing down and neither was he.

"Training is over, get out." he ordered sternly, not a muscle moving, as if he hadn't even said it.

I slowly backed away and stomped out the door, Once I was in the hallways I began to make my way back to my room, or at least try, this place was huge. Luckily I spotted the corridor and entered my room.

I plopped onto the sofa and stared at the bookshelves. My mind was blank after my interaction with Ren, so I decided to fill it with a book.

I walked over to the shelves and skimmed my eyes over the books. My attention was caught by a dark green book, embedded with golden texts to cover it.

It was an adventure novel. I searched for the name of the author but it didn't hold any information. I shrugged my shoulders and made my way back to the sofa. I sat down and got comfortable.

I read the book for what felt like 30 minutes, but when I checked the clock on my holopad, over 5 hours had gone by since the morning of my training lesson. I looked back down at the book, and noticed the small remainder of pages left of the book.

I suppose I was so in depth with the story time had slipped by me. Besides, anything but this life seemed to be much more ideal.

My tummy rumbled, interrupting my thoughts. It was lunch time so I might as well head to the dining hall.

As soon as the thought passed in my mind, I flinched with excitement. Dining hall. Maybe I could see Sparks and the rest of my crew there! It didn't take long before I marked my page in the book, and rushed out of my room. The hope for reuniting with my friends overflew me. Hmmm...

Hope.
