Stevie fiddled with the sugar packets that sat in a box in the middle of the table. She had arranged to meet Pauline at Café Bohème, a cute café that she always went to with her friends when she was in Paris. The tables were small and intimate and Stevie felt extremely anxious thinking about facing Pauline again after so long.
After Timothée had broken up with her, Stevie waited for any sort of communication from Pauline. It never came. The two had had a close friendship since they met, so when Pauline failed to reach out, Stevie felt even more heartbroken than she already was.
If that wasn't enough in itself, Stevie then bumped into Pauline at an audition whilst she was living in LA and Pauline had ignored her. This led Stevie to confront Pauline in the waiting room in front of the 10 other girls auditioning. Obviously, this did not go down well and the pair had not even mildly interacted since. Pauline had even blocked Stevie on all social media platforms.
When Timothée had texted Stevie asking her to meet Pauline she had been apprehensive. In all of it, Stevie still maintained the opinion that she was in the right and the idea of dragging up a load of dumb shit that happened years ago didn't really appeal to her. But she knew how important family was to him, so she agreed.
"Hey." Pauline smiled, settling down into the seat opposite from Stevie. Normally, Stevie would have stood up to hug her, but she wasn't sure that would be appropriate.
"Hey, are you okay?" Stevie nodded back at her.
"I'm great, thanks. You?" Pauline enquired.
"I am also great." Stevie commented, slightly robotically.
"I can safely say that I never thought that we'd ever do this again." Pauline sighed, chuckling slightly.
"Honestly, me neither." Stevie shrugged, a genuine smile on her face this time.
"I know it's a poor excuse, but I genuinely assumed that you and him were over for good. And I guess you almost were." Pauline offered, biting her lip.
"Ok." Stevie started, tukcing a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I'm really not here to start a fight, but that isn't actually an excuse for what happened."
"I know." She shook her head in embarrassment. "It's stupid. I'm so sorry for what happened between us. I saw you as my sister and I should have treated you like it. I knew you were upset but I didn't reach out. I wanted to, believe me. But then time went on and I felt like it had been too long to get in touch and that you were over it all and..."
"I wasn't over it." Stevie offered, a sad chuckle escaping her lips. "I still wasn't over it when I saw you at that audition."
"God, please don't remind me." Pauline buried her head in her hands. "That was... So obviously there was already tension between us and then this was when Timmy had just started seeing Maika and I didn't know if you knew so I didn't want to say anything or do anything to upset you, so I just had an internal freak out and decided to ignore you. In retrospect... not my smartest move."
"Yeah." Stevie nodded in agreement, a small smile playing on her lips.
"But then you started getting worked up and I felt like you were attacking me for something that Timmy did to you." Pauline explained. "You left and I called him to rant and then he actually took your side, which just angered me even more. I just decided to block you."
"Right." Stevie nodded, her stomach fluttering slightly at the thought of Timothée defending her when they were broken up.
"I'm so sorry, Stevie." Pauline shook her head at herself. "I really am. I acted like a child. I should have spoken to you, heard your side of things, actually maintained our relationship. I'm actually embarrassed of how I handled things."
"Thank you." Stevie smiled, letting out a breath that she didn't know she was holding. She reached out and held Pauline's hand. "And I'm sorry for shouting at you. I shouldn't have done that. Honestly it's a miracle people didn't label me as a diva after that outburst."
"Shut up. It was understandable." Pauline laughed, squeezing Stevie's hand.
"So, I hear you're trying to get a free Harry Styles concert ticket from me." Stevie raised an eyebrow at her.
"I mean... If you're offering." Pauline raised an eyebrow back.

Stevie shoved a spoonful of Captain Crunch cereal into her mouth as Timothée watched her through the screen. She had FaceTimed him from her trailer whilst she was on her lunch break due to the time difference. It was midnight in London and Timothée had just gotten home from the play.
"What's going on with your Instagram story?" Timothée yawned, resting his head back on his pillow.
"Oh my god, just people on Twitter. I posted a photo of Jacob on my Instagram story and they all jumped on it and started ripping into me. Saying I don't care about your feelings and calling me a bitch." Stevie shook her head in annoyance. She took another bite of her cereal and swallowed harshly. "It just makes me think that we were right not to do that couples interview for Dazed. I'm sick of people thinking they know about us. Like that should be between us, not the rest of the world, you know?"
Timothée started to laugh. "People always think that they know everything about celebrities lives. It's funny because they think they know the ins and outs of our relationship when I'm actually the one that treated you badly. Not the other way round."
Stevie smiled in amusement, swallowing her cereal. "You aren't mad though? About me posting a photo of Jacob?"
"Nah." Timothée shook his head. "He seems cool. I feel like we could've been friends if we'd met under better circumstances."
"Yeah." Stevie nodded, putting her bowl into the sink of her trailer. "I get vibes between him and Z."
"Really?" Timothée gawked, earning a nod from Stevie. He hadn't expected that. "Does it bother you at all?"
"No." Stevie laughed. "It's actually nice watching them together cause I can see like reflections of us in them. It's nice to see someone care about him the way I should have."
"That's good." Timothée grinned. He was happy for Stevie that she had closure and happy for Zendaya because she had found someone she liked.
Stevie tried to rearrange herself in her chair and violently banged her knee against a table. "Fuck." She grimaced. "I'm so over not having my own space. If I never have to sleep on a bus again it'll be too soon."
"Are you sleeping on your trailer?!" Timothée gaped at her, horrified.
"Oh my god, no!" Stevie laughed at his naïveté. "I'm staying with Alexa but I just mean like I'm sick of only having a room. Like, I had a room at my parents place, I have a room in the flat with Lily and Char, I had my own bunk on that tour bus, I stayed in hotel rooms... I'm just so sick of rooms."
"My entire flat is a room." Timothée pointed out, laughing at his small NYC studio. For a Hollywood A-Lister, he definitely didn't show off his wealth.
"Do you never want more, though?" Stevie wondered.
"I always want more." Timothée shrugged. "You don't want more then you just stay in the same place."
"Yeah..." Stevie smiled, knowingly. "When is your lease up?"
"My lease ran out in March." He nodded. "I just moved my stuff into storage until I'm back in the city."
"Right..." She nodded. "Have you started looking for a new place?"
"Not yet." He shook his head.
"Do you wanna..." They both began at the same time.
"You go." Timothée continued.
"No, it's fine," Stevie nodded. "You go."
"I was just wondering whether you maybe wanted to look at getting a place together?" He finally asked.
"I've literally wanted to ask you that since London!" She started laughing. "I was embarrassed because I thought you wouldn't want to!"
"Shut up." He laughed along. "I was going to ask you on your bus before Gia interrupted."
They both continued laughing, staring at rach other through the screen. "So you actually want to do this?"
"Like I said." Timothée started. Stevie could hear his smile in his voice. "I'm with you, but always."
