Carter Winchester is Dean and Sam's temporarily unknown sister that was a result of an affair that John Winchester had before Sam was born. He regrets the affair and wishes he never did it. The woman soon committed suicide after she had Carter, telling her she loved her and that angels were watching over her (like Mary told Dean).
