Chapter 7: TAKE ME
Sapo-sapo ko ang aking ulo as I carefully went down the stairs. I seem to have been beaten repeatedly with a hammer because of my severe headache. I tightly closed my eyes and tried to remember what happened last night ngunit wala akong matandaan except that I drank too much alcohol in a nightclub with Carina and Sasha last night.
“Good morning,” Mana Senya greeted me while she was brewing my coffee.
“Good morning din, po.” Dumeritso ako ng upo sa usual seat ko sa dining table. I set my elbow on the table and rested my forehead on my hands.
“Oh, kape mo, hija.” Mana placed the coffee in front of me before gently stroking my head. “Inutusan ko na si Susan na kuhanan ka ng gamot para hindi na gaanong sumakit ang ulo mo,” she softly said.
Pinanood ko ang paggalaw ng usok sa ibabaw ng puting tasa to prevent myself from thinking about how much my head hurt so it wouldn't get worse.
“Bakit ka naman kasi nagpakalasing kagabi, e, alam mo namang may klase ka ngayon?”
“Nasaan po si Bàba?” pag-iiba ko sa usapan. I don't want to remember the reason why I got drunk last night.
“Hindi pa siya umuuwi mula kahapon, hija. Pero huwag kang mag-alala dahil tumawag naman siya kanina at sinabing babalik siya mamayang gabi.” Mana Senya lightly stroked my hair again before she finally took a step away from me. “Punta lang akong kusina at maghahanda na ako ng almusal natin.”
“Sige po.” I forced a smile.
I deeply sighed. Sinasabi ko na nga ba'ng negosyo lang ang dahilan kaya napaaga ang kanyang pag-uwi. Why does he even have to lie to me at sabihing na-miss niya ako kaya siya umuwi? As if namang hindi pa ako sanay doon.
“Ito na ang gamot mo, Prinsesang lasenggera!” May pagbibiro sa tuno ni ate Susan kaya natawa ako sa kabila ng pamimitig ng mga ugat sa ulo ko.
“Salamat, ate Susan.” I quickly took the medicine and the warm water before closing my eyes. I'm still sleepy.
“How did I get home last night, Ate? Sina Carina ba ang naghatid sa akin dito?” I asked because I don't really remember what happened last night.
I also had doubts that Carina was the one who took me home because I know naman na likaw ang mga intestine nila pagdating sa akin. They don't really care about me that they'll just leave me inside the club or parking lot or let someone just rape me when I'm already drunk. Hay, bakit nga ba naman kasi ako nagpakalasing ng sila ang kasama? Kainis talaga!
“Wala kang matandaan, ano?” Ngumisi sa akin si Ate. “Alam mo bang para kang lantang gulay kagabi? Hindi ka nga makatayo at halos gawin mo ng pamunas ang sarili mo dahil nagpagulong-gulong ka pa sa sahig. Nakakahiya ka.”
I pouted. “So, I went home alone?”
“Malamang, hindi! Hindi ka nga halos makalakad, ‘di ba?” Natatawang umirap siya sa akin. “Pasalamat ka talaga at hinatid ka ni Pogi kagabi.” At humagikgik pa siya.
I frowned.
“P-pogi?” I nervously asked when I suddenly remembered my dream earlier.
No!
“Oo. ‘Yong bisita ni Mr. Liu noong isang araw. ‘Yong lalaking matangkad na may magandang mga mata,” kinikilig na pagi-imahe pa niya. “Nakakatawa ka nga kagabi, e, akalain mo ba namang lumambitin ka pa sa leeg ni Pogi tapos pinipilit mo pang halikan ka niya. Ayaw mo pa ngang pumayag na umalis siya ng ihatid ka dito. Tinulak-tulak mo pa nga ako ng aalalayan na kita dahil ang gusto mo'y siya ang maghahatid sa 'yo sa kuwarto mo. Attitude ka, ghurl, ha! Akala mo ba ‘di mashakit?” She rolled her eyes on me and then, she laughed carelessly as she pointed her index finger at me. “Sinabi mo pa ngang isusumbong mo siya kay Mr. Liu kapag hindi niya ginawa. Ta's isipin mo na lang kung gaano ako nagulat pagkababa niya kasi puro suka mo na siya. Nakakahiya kay Pogi!”
Sunod-sunod akong napalunok habang iniisip ang sinasabi niya. My brain doesn't want to process it.
“Ka-close mo pala ‘yon? Alam mo, bagay kayo.” She even giggled that made me frown.
“Pleaseee, take me!”
Tangina! Napatakip ako ng buong mukha at bumagsak sa lamesa ng marinig ang bahagi boses ko. Ang akala ko ay panaginip ko lang ulit iyon pero... shit!
It's not a fucking dream!
Carina and Sasha invited me to go to the new nightclub na hindi kalayuan sa University because they said they wanted to know if maganda ba doon. I didn't really want to go because may pasok pa kami the next day but pumayag na din ako to their insistence because gusto kong panandaliang mawala sa isip ko ang mga sinabi at ginawa sa akin ng Dominic na iyon. First time ‘yon mangyari sa akin, and that is so annoying!
So, even though I know my ‘friends’ also have an evil plan for me ay sumama pa din ako sa kanila I'm also curious about their new gimmick for today. Last time kasi they left me sleeping in the carpark. Fortunately, the bouncer who noticed me was kind enough to wake me up even though I knew it was very difficult on his part.
The Club was actually good than I expected. Hindi gaanong kalakihan but not the type that it lacks space. But if Bàba is not here in the Philippines, I would still prefer to hang out at NeoBar because parang pangalawang home ko na din iyon.
I just shook my head sa dalawang kasama ko na parang may plano akong lasingin. Panay kasi ang abot nila sa akin ng kung ano-anong klase ng mga alak. Tinatanggap ko naman ang lahat and drink it 'til my heart's content
Many things can really happen in just a snap. It was as if all around me had suddenly become chaotic since Bàba left and went to Korea and everything began to be more weird each passing days.
Napahawak ako sa batok ko ng maramdaman ang pananayo ng mga balahibo ko doon. I've been feeling it for a few days now. You know the kind of feeling that someone is watching you from afar? Nakakapangilabot but I don't want to panic.
I tried to look around but I did not notice anything suspicious. Maybe it was just the alcohol.
“H-hey, drink moreee.” Sasha handed me another tequilla when she noticed that the glass I was holding was already empty.
I smirked and just accepted it.
“So, who's your new boy toy?”
My eyebrow raised at Carina's question. I almost winced when she crossed her legs. She's wearing a very mini skirt that I can almost see the lower part of her undie. Ewy!
“New boy toy?" I repeated. I don't remember that I had a new kalandian because the one I was flirting with suddenly had a selective amnesia. From Sugar to Ms. Mia? Tanginang ‘yan!
“Yeah.” She sly a smirk. “The whole University is talking about what happened between the three of you. Napahiya nga daw si Jackson, eh.”
Patagong umirap ako. Usap-usapan ba talaga o dakilang tsismosa ka lang?
“Kaya ngaaa! Jackshon boy was sho furious wheeen Carina asked him— aww!”
I hid a smile when I saw how Carina kicked Sasha's legs under the table.
“You're already drunk, Sash. What are you saying?” Carina glanced at me so I just smiled innocently at her. “So, who is it? I heard he looks… old.”
I laughed before I took the tequilla shot that Sasha gave me. Looks old? Who the heck said that dahil putangina niya, napakahambog niya! Dominic can even beat hell because of his hotness—oh, shit! What am I thinking? Galit ako sa kanya!
“I don't fucking know who that bastard is,” I wished.
“Weh?” She raised a brow. Mukhang may balak talaga ang gaga.
What? She'll make me drunk and then tatanungin niya ako ng kung ano-ano about Dominic? Then what? She will seduce him like how she seduced Jackson? Oh, puh-lease!
“Yeah.” I nodded. “Don't worry, hindi siya kasing sarap ni Jackson.” Dahil mas triple ang sarap niya.
Shock flashed across her face. Maybe she thought na hindi ko knows ang ginawa nilang fuckery ni Jackson when she found out na fling ko siya. She didn't know na mayabang ang hinayupak and that he even boasted to me how good he was when banged the shit out of Carina. Mga baboy talaga. Ang ewwy, ha!
"What did you say?" Her whole face is starting to turn red.
Sasha, who was sitting next to her, looked really drunk as she was already talking and laughing to the half empty bottle of Jack Daniels.
“Ha? I am not saying anything,” I denied. “Maybe you're already drunk too.”
Her eyes narrowed at me na parang hindi siya naniniwala sa akin. I shrugged my shoulders because I don't care naman if she believed me or not. I just continued drinking and ganoon din naman siya.
I noticed her sudden silence after that at ang pauli-ulit niyang pagsulyap sa akin. Maybe she was afraid I might already know the truth. ‘Yong pagiging backstaber niya at pang-aakit sa mga nagiging fling ko na akala mo'y desperada ng magpakamot kapag nangangati. Natatakot siya na baka magsumbong ako kay Bàba tungkol sa mga ginagawa niya sa akin behind my back at singilin ang mga utang nila upang gipitin sila. Baliw din kasi, gagawa ng kalukuhan tapos hindi naman pala kayang panindigan.
Their family owes us a lot because their company almost collapsed due to bankruptcy last year. Her parents knew that we were ‘friends’ so they came to Bàba and asked for help. And si Bàba naman, by just hearing my name will make him immediately release money no matter how much it costs.
I felt a little dizzy when I suddenly stood up. Sinabi ko kay Carina na mag-re-restroom lang ako but she didn't turn to me or even glance at me and no one seemed to hear me. I just shrugged and sewed my way to the restroom.
I leaned on the sink for a few minutes due to dizziness after I peed. I also retouched but I don't know if my lipstick was drawn correctly. I went out of the restroom because I could no longer cope up with the dizziness and I really wanted to sleep already.
I was caught off guard when someone suddenly grabbed me in my shoulder on my way back.
“Don't touch meee!” I shouted and tried to get out of the man's grip.
I don't know who he is because he's wearing a black baseball cap and my eyesight is also a bit blurry. I winced because he was so close to me that I could already smell his strange and upleasant natural scent and the smell of cigarettes in his mouth that I dislike the most. Ewy!
“A-ano baa? Lemmeee go!” I said feistily. I tried to remove his heavy arm from my shoulder but it just slipped because of his sweaty arm. “Yuckk—Oh, my gosh! What the fuck is that!?" I trembled when I felt a cold and sharp thing pressed againts the side of my back. It's a freaking knife!
Unti-unti na akong nakakaramdam ng takot at panic. Oh, my! I can't die virgin!
“What d’ya need baaa? You need peeera? I can give you that, I have a lot inshide my bag! Just spare meee, please, Kuya! I'll also give you a deodorant, for freee! Gusto mo ba ng roll-on?" I slurred out of desperation.
“Tumahimik kang tangina ka! Kapag may nakarinig sa ‘yo sasaksakin kita,” he threatened and pressed the knife behind me even more so I immediately closed my mouth shut.
Fuck. Hindi na talaga ako babalik sa club na ‘to, ever! Bukod sa walang kuwenta ang bouncer dito dahil may naka-puslit na goon at armado pa, hindi din nila pinapahalagahan ang proper hygiene. Like, eww. It's given na mag-amoy pawis kami and amoy ng sigarilyo, pero ‘wag naman amoy putok. Torture na this!
“Do we have a problem here?”
A baritone voice caught our attention. Agad na nagbunyi ang kalooban ko ng makilala kung sino ito. I'm safe from this body odor na tinubuan ng face!
“Wala, P're. Nag-uusap lang kami ng girlpren ko,” the goon behind me said.
Girlfriend? What the fuck? I hope Dominic would not believe him. Baka isipin niyang ang pangit ng taste ko!
I saw Dominic violently balled his fist. His eyes meets mine. I look at him like I am begging for my life.
“Totoo ba ‘yon, Miss?” he asked me with his monotone voice. Oh, geez! Don't tell me hanggang sa sitwasyon ba naman na ito ay ikakaila niyang we know each other!?
I closed my eyes in horror as the man presses the knife behind me. Pakiramdam ko ay tumagos na ang knife na hawak niya sa dress ko dahil ramdam ko ang lamig ng dulo nito sa skin ko. Wala sa sariling tumango ako dahil sa takot.
“Y-yeah...”
“Oo, p're, kaya umalis ka na,” taboy na saad ng lalaki na halatang naiinis na. “Huwag ka ng makialam pa dito. Away mag-syota ‘to.”
“Pasensya na din, P're,” Dominic gritted his teeth and gave him a smirk that tells how dangerous he can be. “Hindi puwede, eh. Akin kasi ‘yan.”
I almost caught my breath because of what he said. Para akong pinaglaruan ng sarili kong tainga dahil sa narinig.
And then in just like a blink of an eye, the guy behind me and Dominic are already fighting and throwing punches to each other. It was clear that the other man has the most advantage because aside from having almost the same body built, the other man has a sharp knife on his hand, and he looks like a goon who's ready to kill.
At first, I was afraid for Dominic life because of the advantage of his opponent but Dominic was able to fight back on hand. Nang mabitawan ng lalaki ang patalim ay agad itong sinipa palayo ni Dominic. I shrieked when the guy gave Dominic a leg kick but Dominic was fast to recover and throw him a multiple punches and choke him using his arms until the guy lose his consciousness. Pabalyang binitawan ni Dominic ang lalaki sa sahig at hingal na tumingin sa akin.
My eyes widened as I watched the goon lying on the floor. His chest was moving slowly. He's still breathing, isn't he?
“Ish he... Ish he dead?” I asked in fear but no one answered me. I looked away from the goon's body to look at the man in front of me.
He looks so menacing right now. I chewed my lower lip as I stared at him. I can't help to blame myself because he got a little cut on his sweet lower lip. His fingers ran through his hair before he shook his head. I was relieved because of his response.
“Wheere did yah leearn to fight like that?” I asked a little amazed, but Dominic seems not to hear me. He just grabbed my arm and pull me closer to him. We were almost hugging each other as we walk away from the goon's unconscious body.
“Where are your friends?” he asked as his eyes roamed around the place.
“Over there—oh! They left me!” Tumawa ako ng hindi ko makita ang mga kasama ko sa ukopadong lamesa namin kanina. Sabi ko na nga ba't may evil plan ang mga iyon sa akin. Nag-Cr lang ako saglit, bigla na lang silang nag-disappear.
I haven't got my car in NeoBar yet so I just went with Sasha. I have not yet thought of getting that dahil may ibang kotse naman akong ginagamit pamasok. But now, I am regretting it because I am already alone with this amnesia guy!
I saw Dominic's eyes turned into slits as he looked at me. He didn't seem to want to believe that my friends had left me.
“I'mtellingthetruth!” I hissed, words tumbling from my mouth in rush.
I tried to push him, but as expected, he didn't even budged. Sa laki at tigas ba naman ng katawan nito ay ano bang laban ng maliit kong katawan dito?
“I already told you not to drink too much and you didn't listen! Look what happened because of your stubbornness!” he growled and his voice was lethal. “Paano kung wala ako? Ano na namang mangyayari sa 'yo!?”
Hindi ako umimik at napanguso na lang upang pigilan ang nagbabadyang paghikbi ko. This guy is not really aware of how he pained me. I should hate him but the attraction I feel for him is more powerful. Oh, God! I really hate myself when I'm drunk.
The next thing I knew was I'm already lying on my bed inside my room. Lumibot ang tingin ko sa paligid at natigil iyon sa malaking bulto ng lalaking nakatayo sa aking paanan at tinatanggal ang stilettos mula sa paa ako.
"Are you really here?" Inaantok na tanong ko sa lalaki at pilit itong inaaninag sa kabila ng kadiliman. I know that he is Dominic. I can smell his familiar scent from here.
He looked up to me. And when our eyes met, I realize that my body really wants him, desperately. I got up from lying down and grabbed his shirt to pull him down with me. My back fell on the bed. Mabilis naman niyang natukod ang braso niya sa magkabilang side ko to support his weight.

“You don't.” He raised his body upward to kiss my forehead. “I'm sorry, Sugar. I don't want to hurt you, I just needed to do that.”
Hinila ko muli siya papalapit sa akin upang halikan ngunit naramdaman ko na parang may gustong lumabas mula sa aking lalamunan. He was about to say something when I throw up against his face. Nanghina ang katawan ko at pumikit ng ilang saglit ngunit hindi ko na nagawang magmulat muli.
I feel like I want to cry because of so much embarrassment. I bit my lower lip and bawled remembering what had happened last night.
“Uy, anong nangyayari sa ‘yo? Masakit ba ang ulo mo?” Nag-aalalang tanong ni ate Susan at hinaplos ang ulo ko ng mapansin niya ang pamumutla ko.
Ano pa bang mukhang maihaharap ko sa Dominic na iyon!? Oh, Geez! Sana lamunin na lang ako ng soil sa sobrang kahihiyan.
