It was the day Renjun, Chenle, Jisung and Heejin went to Lotte World.
Chenle's emotions were similiair to a rollercoaster.
Everytime Jisung gave him attention they were up high.
But when Jisung's attention belonged to Heejin they were drastically falling.
Chenle knew this was wrong.
Jisung, his best friend, was allowed to have other friends.
But Chenle couldn't help himself.
Heejin never treated him bad, but he just couldn't bring himself to like her.
The whole day he sat next to Jisung or next to Renjun in the rollercoasters.
But when they were in line for another rollercoaster, something unexpected happened.
"Do you want to sit next to me, Chenle-Oppa?", Heejin asked with her cute smile.
Chenle maybe wasn't really fond of her but not offering her to call him 'Oppa' would have been just weird.
"I-I- are you sure?", Chenle asked nervously.
"Of course I am. I think it would be fun.", Heejin still smiled sweetly and Chenle couldn't help himself.
"Okay. Then, yes", he was just a too nice person.
So this time, Chenle sat next to Heejin.
And....
And it wasn't too bad.
It was actually fun sitting next to Heejin.
She made Chenle laugh, even though this rollercoaster was rather scary.
Maybe. Just maybe, Chenle could try to like her.
Just for Jisung.
After some more rides the group wanted to eat.
Soon they found a place, where everyone was happy with the offered food.
Renjun and Heejin had to go to the toilet, so Chenle and Jisung already went in line to order without them.
Jisung seemed a little bit pale in the face and since they were alone, Chenle finally dared to ask.
"Are you really fine with riding all these rollercoaster? I know you are not the biggest fan of them.", Chenle softly said.
"Y-yes, I am fine", Jisung tried to look confident.
But Chenle didn't believe him.
He sighed deeply and looked at Jisung.
"Are you trying to impress Heejin?"
Jisung's eyes widened and he looked so quickly at Chenle that Chenle was afraid that Jisung got whiplashed.
"N-no", Jisung answered with a red face, only confirming Chenle in his suspicion.
If only the older would know that Jisung wasn't trying to impress Heejin but the older himself.
But Chenle didn't know this. So he rolled his eyes and sighed a "sure", ending this conversation.
Back in time than Renjun was returning and a few minutes later also Heejin came back.
They ate the food, while telling jokes and making each other laugh.
They were so hungry that the food was gone in seconds. Or that was what it felt like.
Time always runs, when you have fun and good people around you.
Now Chenle and Jisung got the need to go to the toilet, so they did.
Leaving Renjun and Heejin behind.
"So", Renjun finally tried to ask the question, he had in his mind all day long. "None of your friends had time this weekend for you?"
Heejin carefully looked up. "No", she shook her head slowly.
"Why not?", Renjun asked softly but with a raised brow.
"They were busy.... with stuff.", Heejin shrugged.
"With stuff?", Renjun scoffed.
"I don't know, okay?", Heejin admitted. "They all just told me that they haven't time for me but they didn't give me a reason."
"Sounds like nice friends.", Renjun scoffed.
"Not really", Heejin mumbled.
"Mhh?", Renjun asked confused.
"They aren't really nice friends", Heejin looked to the ground.
"Then why are you friends with them?", Renjun asked carefully. Soft voice to let Heejin know that she could trust him.
"To survive in society.", Heejin only answered.
"I don't really understand.", Renjun whispered.
Heejin looked up again. "Did you ever go to school? It is hell in general but when you have no friends?", Heejin scoffed. "It is even worse."
She sighed and looked away again. "So having shitty friends is better than having no friends at all."
Renjun nodded understanding. "Yeah, I kind of get that."
Heejin smiled sadly at him.
After a few seconds of silence, Renjun asked another question. "Is this why you tried to become Jisung's friend? Because you know how it is to be alone."
Heejin only nodded.
But after a few more silent seconds she said "And my shitty friends almost scared him away." She laughed fakely. "Aren't they great?"
Heejin sighed and Renjun only looked at her.
But in a moment of braveness he took her hand in his.
"At least you have a good friend now. Jisung maybe will be a little busy from time to time but I would bet he will always be there for you."
"Yes, I hope so.", Heejin smiled slightly.
"He really is a good friend."
"He is.", Renjun also smiled.
And for a second they got lost in each other's eyes.
But then Heejin quickly got back to her senses and gently slided her hand out of Renjun's.
"Maybe we should throw the food trash away."
"Yeah, let's do this", Renjun nodded and stood up.
Meanwhile
Chenle came out of the bathroom and saw that Jisung was waiting for him.
"Hi", he shyly said, when he neard Jisung. "You didn't have to wait."
"I wanted to", Jisung only shrugged.
"Alright. Should we go then?", Chenle wanted to walk back but Jisung placed himself right in front of Chenle's feet.
"No. We need to talk first."
Jisung grabbed Chenle's wrist and pulled him behind the bathroom.
"Are you alright?", Jisung asked with a raised brow and crossed arms.
Chenle was confused. "Yes? What should be wrong?"
"I don't know.", Jisung shrugged. "You should be enjoying this day but you are rarely smiling and everytime you do I feel like it is fake."
"God, Jisung. I am having fun. I even try to get along with Heejin. I am not sulking or complaining. So what is your problem right now, huh?", Chenle slightly raised his voice.
Jisung scoffed. "You know you didn't have to come. No one forced you. So why did you came, when you can't stand spending time with Heejin?"
"Maybe because I wanted to spend time with you", Chenle shouted back.
Jisung dropped his arms.
But then he raised them again, only to put them next to Chenle's head on the wall. Capturing Chenle between his body and the wall.
"What are you doing?", Chenle asked and blushed.
"I don't know", Jisung whispered back and slowly leaned closer.
Chenle saw how Jisung's eyes drifted to his lips.
He felt Jisung's breath on his lips.
He felt Jisung's body pressed to his.
He felt his own eyes closing.
This was all Chenle ever wanted.
But this was not right.
No.
No, he couldn't do that.
Before anything could happen Chenle turned his head and pressed his lips on Jisung's cheek.
Jisung closed his eyes and sighed.
"I lied. Heejin didn't ask for you to come along. I did. I wanted you to be here. But I lied because I wanted you to like Heejin and I thought this would help."
"Really?", Chenle looked up with glossy eyes.
"Yes", Jisung breathed. And his face was still so so close.
"I am giving my best to like Heejin. You know that, right?", Chenle started playing with the hem of Jisung's shirt.
"I know", Jisung nodded and pressed their foreheads together.
"Maybe we should go back", Jisung leaned back and took Chenle's hand in his.
"Yes, we should", Chenle answered and let himself being pulled by Jisung again.
As soon as they were visible again for all the curious eyes, they seperated their hands like they just got burned.
They went back to the others, like nothing happened.
They continued riding the rollercoasters. Chenle also sat more often next to Heejin and tried to smile more. All for Jisung.
When the sun started to set, they decided that they should slowly leave the park.
In the end they stayed a little longer, not wanting to miss the firework.
The boys were hungry again and decided to eat somewhere else.
Heejin said that it was already late and she needed to go home. But she wished the boys a lot of fun and delicious food and thanked them for the great and funny day.
They went to a Korean BBQ restaurant and ended the wonderful day as good as it begun.
When it was night, Chenle decided that it maybe was better to not sleep in the same bed as Jisung that night.
That was the reason, why he was laying in his bed all alone, surrounded by darkness.
His feelings were too messed up. His mind went to places, it shouldn't even think about.
He needed to stop this all, before it got worse.
But who was he fooling?
The days off would end the next day and all the stress and pressure would return.
He wouldn't even be able to close his eyes without Jisung.
Just as he was about to stand up and sneak in Jisung's bed, Jisung already picked up the duvet from Chenle and joined him under the warm surface.
Wordlessly he took Chenle in his arms and they fell asleep cuddling.
Just how it was supposed to be.
