It been almost two weeks since I started knitting
Carol has not been a very good teacher, she is always nagging about everything and asking me to start over again if I miss a step
but I want to learn so I have no choice
It's been two weeks since I have seen him.... And because my phone was faulty I couldn't even pick out his number.
I tried sending him a direct email from Joe's computer but the access was denied
I'm almost done with his sweater and I have no idea how to reach him
I have been staying in carol's yarn store for the last two weeks
she's in charge of all the woolen designs here at Eleanor and she's kind of secluded from the entire office
The door fling open and Stacy hurried in.... I ran into her open arms, it feels great to see someone other than grumpy Carol
And Stacy has also been gone for two weeks... She went on a business trip with Eleanor and they returned last night
"Ma... Tilda... It's so good to see you sweetie"
"Yeah... I missed you"

Carol interrupted
"We know Carol... Besides you work in a store not in a library... Come Matilda let's go find somewhere better to talk"
She held my hand and pulled me out of the store

She opened her bag and pulled out a ticket

I can't be seen with him in public

I finished Felix's sweater two days later..... I decided to close for the day.
I don't have much to do anyway
I stare at the multicolor sweater I have spent so much time on...
I can't just hang it on the wall and wait for him to come
besides I miss him so much
I can't wait to see him
So I decided to pay him a visit at his office.
It has been two weeks... I need to make sure everything is OK
it was still early I should be able to catch him at work
I took a cab and stopped at the familiar tall building...
The same routine of people in fancy suits moving non stop
I went straight to his floor and when I reached his secretary
"Hi... Am here to see Fe... Sorry Mr. Harper "
"Do You have an appointment"
"No I don't"
"Am sorry... You can't see him, without an appointment"
I glared at her, recalling how she gave me an after working hours appointment the last time
"He knows am coming... Can you just inform him that Matilda is here"
"Okay... But you will have to wait, coz he is busy now"
"Fine... I'll wait"
I sat down and stared at the digital clock on the secretary desk and after thirty minutes of just sitting and tapping my foot
I stood up....
"Claudia... "I read the letter plate on the table
"Yes"
"Did you inform Mr. Harper that am here?"
"Yes"

"Hmmm.. What did he say?"
"Look miss am too busy for your questions right now"
"I get it... Just the same way you gave me an appointment after work hours the last time... You are going to make me wait till I can't see him again"
"You need an appointment miss"
I nodded and then I turned quickly and rushed into Felix office as she ran after me
He was just sitting there behind his laptop... Working
He raised his head and watch us argue back and forth
"You told me he was busy"
"Can't you see... He is busy"
"You are just a pathetic bitch"
She gasped
"And You need to leave right now or am calling security"
"Claudia... Pls excuse us"
"Sir"
"You heard me... Leave "
He stood up
I gave her a scornful look before she left
"Oh Thank goodness... That bitch almost didn't let me see you.. Can you imagine"
"What are you doing here?"
"I couldn't reach you so... I thought I'd just come and tell you that if you have been trying to reach me on my phone.... It's bad so"
"So get another one"

"Look Matilda.... You can't be here right now.. Now is not a good time "

I looked down at my piece of handiwork... It had all been for nothing
I moved closer to his desk and dropped the bag on it
"Here... I made this for you"

I turned and walked out of the office
By Claudia's desk, someone was talking to her and I suppose she's Felix wife... From behind... Then I hurried out of the hallway
The ride down the elevator was a struggle..
Why did he talk to me like that
like I was nothing
When I got out of the elevator
someone called my name
"Matilda Suarez "
I turned and it was Desmond
"Desi... " I smiled as I gave him a big hug.. I really needed to hug someone I was this close to losing it
"Look at you...all grown and handsome"
"You look very beautiful too Matilda... "
"It's so good to see you "
"Same here.... Why did you run off like that the other day?"
I gave him a quick recap of that day's incident and as we talked the elevator behind us chimed open and Felix walked out with his wife..
Their hands tugged into each other... They literally commanded attention
Everyone was staring at them
Felix caught my eye briefly and looked away quickly
They looked so good together
That bitter truth made my heart thud hurt
I wished I had left earlier
Or that I didn't come at all
