Y/N POV
I walk inside and spot Eret sitting by the far en of a table, picking on his food. I take a few breath and give myself a pep talk before heading towards him.
I take a seat in front on him.
-...What are you doing here...? He asks. He sounds more hurt than mad.
-I... I came to apologize. What I did wasn't cool, and I should've told you before I did it, it was stupid, I say. Eret looks up at me.
-Damn right it was, I hear, but it sounds like he's smirking. He tilts his head up and I can see a smirk playing at his lips. I scoff and shake my head.
-Unbelievable.... I say and he laughs at me.
-You're right, it wasn't cool... I could've died, he then says.
-Oh please, the worst thing to happen to someone that has gotten their saddle unhitched was falling into the ocean, I say. Eret looks at me and makes a "not bad" face.
-But I'm sorry... really, I say. Eret smiles softly.
-It's cool... He says and picks a bit more at his food. I bite my under lip and walk over to his side of the table, sitting beside him. I reach out my right hand.
-Friends? I ask. Eret looks surprised at me.
-F-friends...? Eret asks. I nod.
-With me? He asks.
-Yep, I nod and smile.
-C'mon, what's the worst that could happen, I joke.
-Well, I think the worst has passed, Eret smirks. I punch his shoulder.
-Shut up, I say and we laugh.
-Friends? I ask again and hold out my hand to him again. Eret smiles and nods, taking my hand.
-Friends, he says and we shake hands.
As we hold onto each other's hands, I feel butterflies erupt in my whole body, and I feel my face heating up. This is a feeling I haven't really felt before... Not in this way, at least.
I can't already have caught feelings for the guy, can I?
........ I think I've made a terrible mistake.
I walk to Astrids house and knock stressed on the door. The door opens and there she stands.
-Y/N? What's up? She asks.
-Can we talk? I ask. She nods and walks out of the way, letting me in. I sit down on a bench by her fireplace.
-Is it only us here? I ask. She nods.
-Are you ok? Did something happen? She asks as she sits down in a chair in front of me. I sigh and stomp my foot on the floor.
-How do one know if you've caught feelings for someone? Or if you're just excited? I ask. Astrid looks shocked.
-You, if anyone should know? She laughs nervously. I stand up.
-Well, I don't, and I'm kinda freaking out! I say, now really stressing and pacing around the room.
-Woah, Y/N, what is happening? Astrid asks and sits me back down, sitting down next to me.
-I had flying lessons with Eret, showed him the saddle trick, he got mad at me. I apologized and said that we're friends... But I'm not so sure that's what I want... I say and look ashamed at Astrid.
-You're not sure if you want to be friends with Eret? She asks confused.
-No... I'm not sure that that's the ONLY thing I want... I say. Astrids face lights up in realization.
-Oh...... She says.
-Yeah, that's one way to say it, I say and put my face in my hands.
-I just don't know what to do... I don't know this feeling, I've never felt it before, I say.
-Y/N, everyone gets a crush, Astrid reassures.
-Well, I'm not sure that it's just a crush Astrid... What if I hate him? What if it's, just excitement for getting to know someone that's not five years younger? I ask. Astrid looks sheepishly at me. I sigh.
-You're right... oh god! I say and cover my face.
-Yeah... the almighty Y/N has a crush on a former Dragon hunter, Astrid says and pats my back.
-Oh, that just sounds so much worse! I say and look sadly up at Astrid who just smiles at me. Suddenly the door opens and Eret is standing there. He looks surprised at me.
-Y/N? What're you doing here? He asks.
-Oh! Uhm... Astrid stammers.
-Girl problems? I say, but it sounds more like a question.
-Oh! Eret says uncomfortably and his face turns red.
-Then I'll just leave you two to it, he says and laughs, veeeery awkwardly.
-Wait... did you need anything? Astrid asks.
-No, no, I'll just talk to you later about it, no worries! Bye! He says quickly and closes the door and we can hear his footsteps walking away. I put my face in my hands again.
-Oh my gooods.... I groan, dragging the 'o'.
-I don't know... I think you're compatible... Astrid teases and I nudge her in the shoulder.
Then she just gives me a look.... a weird look.
-What? I ask. Then she smiles secretly at me.
-What's so funny? I then ask.
-Oh, nothing, she says teasingly and stands up, starting up the fireplace. Then my face lit's up in realization.
-No... you wouldn't dare tell on me! I say and point angrily at her, as I feel my face redden like never before.
-No! What!? I wouldn't do that! Astrid exclaims as a bit of smoke rises from the firewood.
-I'm just gonna... hurry up the process a bit, she smirks and goes back to the fire. I huff and lean back into the couch, watching Astrids smirk carefully.
-I hate you sometimes, you know that, right? I ask annoyed.
-You know you love me, Astrid says amused.
-.....Yeah, right... I say and turn towards a window, watching Eret and Hiccup talk outside.
