"Can we get ice cream?"
"Baby, it's 9 degrees outside."
"So? We can buy some at the supermarket."
"Y/n, it's so cold. I don't want to go." Shawn said, pulling my body closer to his.
"But Shawn," I groaned. "I really really really want ice cream."
"Y/n-"
"Please?"
"Fine." he sat up, pulling his hoodie over his head.
"Thank you, bubby."
"Anything for you." he smiled.
I made sure to put on layers and wear a heavy coat.
"Shawn, it's freezing out. Put on your heavy coat."
"But it would be hot in the car."
"But we're going inside the supermarket. It'll probably be cold."
"Can you get it for me?"
"Sure. Is it in this closet." I ask, pointing to the closet next to the front door.
"No, it's upstairs."
"Okay, I'll go get it." I said, quickly running up the stairs and grabbing his coat.
"Thank you, cutie." he said as I handed him his coat.
"You're welcome."
"You ready?" he asked.
I nodded.
When he opened the door, a burst of cold air blasted at us.
"Quickly, go in the car."
I ran to the car and got in.
"I'm sorry." I frowned, looking at him.
"What?" he asked, starting up the car.
"I feel bad."
"Why?"
"Cause I'm making you come with me even though it's so cold out."
"Bub, it's fine. Don't worry."
"But-"
"Shush, we're going now. Plus I need to get something."
I nodded, turning on the radio as he began driving.
"Did you hear Keshi's new song?" I asked.
"No, is it good?"
"Ah, I love it so much. His voice is so angelic and I love him so-"
Shawn made a fake cough sound.
"What?"
"Um. Who's your favorite singer?"
I thought about it for a bit.
"Keshi."
"Really?" he looked offended.
"Nope, he's my second favorite." I laughed.
"So who's your first?"
"Can you guess?"
"Me?"
"Nope."
"Excuse me? I can turn this car back around and you won't get ice cream."
"Shush, I'm kidding. You're my favorite artist, baby."
"Mhm."
"Stop, I'm serious." I laughed.
"You're mean."
"Nope, I just like to tease you."
He made a face at me.
"Squishy." I smiled.
"Sure."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"Fine." he smiled, rolling his eyes.
Shawn pulled into the parking lot of the supermarket.
"Ready?" he asked, smiling.
"Mission ice cream."
We quickly opened the car doors and ran inside the supermarket.
"We made it." Shawn said.
"Mhm. Now, do we get mint or cookie dough."
"Cookie dough, duh."
"Okay, okay." I said, picking up a shopping basket.
"Can we get these?" Shawn asked, holding up a box of muffins and a box of cupcakes.
"Sure." I smiled.
We walked to the aisle with ice cream and I put a container of cookie dough ice cream in our basket.
"Do we need anything else?"
"Milk and a frozen pizza?"
"I'll get the pizza."
"Okay, I'll meet you there." he said walking away quickly.
I found the pizza and got a cheese and pepperoni pizza.
Because Shawn said he would meet me here, I stood there waiting for him.
Five minutes passed and Shawn still hasn't arrived, so I went to the aisle with the milk.
"Shawn?"
He turned around.
"Oh, y/n, this is Winter. Winter this is y/n."
"Hi." she said.
I smiled.
"Sorry, I ran into her and I haven't seen her in forever."
I nodded.
"Well, Shawn, if you're ever free, call me. I've missed you." she hugged him.
"Yeah, I'll see you later." he smiled.
Shawn turned to me and I folloqed behind him as we walked to checkout.
"Shawn, who was that?"
"Do you remember how I told you about my childhood crush?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, that's her." he nervously laughed.
"Oh. Cool."
"Um, yeah. Here, I can pay today."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. Anything for my girl." he winked.
I smiled, rolling my eyes.
When we got back into the car, Shawn's phone began beeping.
"Who is it?"
"I don't know. Can you check for me, baby?"
I grabbed his phone.
"You got a message from Winter."
"What'd she say?"
"Can you come over tonight? I feel lonely." I read slowly.
"You want to hangout with her too?"
"No, not really."
"Okay, then can you tell her that I'm busy tonight?"
"Shawn, she knows you have a girlfriend, right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Cause I don't know. This sounds kinda weird."
"Baby, don't worry about it. I love you and only you."
"I love you too."
"Don't frown, y/n." he looked at me quickly before looking at the road.
"I don't know. Something about Winter just weirds me out, you know?"
"I get it. Don't worry, babe." he said, holding my hand.
