Max's POV
"Remind me not to tell you anything ever again." I laughed, rolling my eyes at my friend who walked beside me, going on about how I was dating the devil. At first, I assumed she was just implying that Theo was far from a good guy, but I soon realized that she meant it literally. Theo had come back from Hell, so that made him the devil. I regretted telling her this.
"You didn't tell me, your brother did." We both stopped at our lockers before transferring our books in.
"I'm gonna kill Stiles." I muttered under my breath. I quickly excused myself, then went on my way to find my infamous demon boyfriend. "See you in chemistry!"
I made my way through the crowded hallway, eyes darting around in search for Theo. I hoped to see him before lunch ended. Finally, I spotted him at his locker with Liam and Mason. They seemed to be caught up in a rather interesting conversation.
I stopped in front of the three teenage boys, and their conversation came to a sudden stop. I raised an eyebrow at them, "sorry, am I interrupting something?" They all shook their heads like guilty children, but I didn't believe them. "What're you guys talking about?" I crossed my arms over my chest, now made of curiosity.
"Lacrosse," Liam said quickly, and at the same time Mason blurted out,
"Cars."
Theo shot a disappointing glare at each of them before averting his attention to me, "just guy stuff." He shrugged. I wasn't convinced. I didn't have time to ask any further questions, because the bell rang. Liam and Mason hurried off to their next class, clearly not wanting to be a part of the awkward situation anymore.
Theo pressed a light kiss to my forehead - a sweet gesture that always made my heart flutter. He was gone within seconds after that. Releasing a heavy sigh, I walked towards my next class - chemistry.
*
Chemistry had dragged on longer than expected. I was relieved to walk out of that classroom. I was about to close my locker, when I noticed Theo nearby, talking to somebody else. A girl. I hid behind the locker door, not wanting him to see me, afraid that he'd end the conversation like he did earlier with Liam and Mason when he saw me coming. It was quite loud in the corridor, but they were close enough for me to hear their conversation:
"No, he's a total idiot. You're like the prettiest girl in AP Biology." Theo smirked at her and my jaw immediately dropped. I carried on listening for a while until it got too much. Was he flirting with her? That son of a bitc-
I slammed the locker door shut as soon as I saw Liam coming down the hallway. I grabbed his arm, making him yelp, and dragged him into the nearest empty classroom. "What was that for?" He moaned, rubbing his arm where my hand gripped a few seconds ago.
"What the hell were you guys talking about this morning?" I asked again, hoping that I would get the truth this time. I knew for damn fact that they weren't talking about lacrosse or stupid cars! Liam shrugged his shoulders and I took a hold of his arm again - holding tighter this time. "Tell me, Dunbar!"
"I did tell you!" He protested, trying to get his arm out of my strong grip.
"Bullshit, Liam!" I groaned, letting go of him. I tossed my head back in annoyance, releasing a heavy sigh. I had no choice left but to play this card. "Please just be honest with me... Come on, you're my best friend. I thought I could trust you." My voice went soft and Liam's face softened.
"Fine." Liam breathed, giving up. On the inside, I was smiling triumphantly, but on the outside, I kept my cool, waiting for him to tell me. "Theo, he... I don't know- He's trying to make you jealous. But I swear I don't know why!" He raised his hands in defense.
I was made of confusion. Why on earth was Theo trying to make me jealous? And why did he choose Jenny from AP Biology to do it? I pushed the thoughts aside momentarily, pulling Liam in for a hug before thanking him. I had a mastermind plan brewing in my mind.
"W-What are you gonna do now?" Liam asked, looking rather anxious.
"Two can play at that game, Liam." I simply answered, winking at my best friend before leaving him alone in the empty classroom. I made my way to the girls locker room to get ready for gym class.
*
The air inside the gym was always crisp, hence why I always chose to wear my tights - That was the reason I chose to tell my teacher and friends, at least. It wasn't long ago that Theo told me he preferred that I wear my tights during the class, because the volleyball shorts drew too much unwanted attention from hormonal teenage peers.
That's why today was the perfect day to leave my tights in the locker and put my favorite volleyball shorts on. I took some time looking in the mirror. Was I sure about doing this?
Some girl stopped behind me, I could see her in the mirror. "Holy shit," her lips formed an O shape, "your ass looks great in that!" And that was it: the only confirmation I needed. I was now 100% sure about this. I loosened my hair so that my long, blond curls could cascade down my back. I was ready.
As soon as I entered the gym, I had undoubtedly caught the attention of half the class. But I only cared about two boys: Theo and Josh.
Josh had flirted with me since he came to Beacon Hills High School at the beginning of the semester, but I had always kept my distance, afraid that if I entertained him even slightly, Theo would break his face - to say the least.
But today was going to be different. I walked straight past Theo, whose stare was burning holes into my skin, and went to stand next to Josh.
Josh wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was checking me out, and it was crystal clear that Theo was on the verge of tackling him to the floor.
"Well, well, well Max. Where you been hiding all of this?" Josh leaned back, looking directly at my ass.
"Like what you see?" I played along. I glanced over at Theo and could tell that he was listening in on the conversation. His breathing was heavy and a crease formed between his eyebrows.
"Alright, everyone! Let's warm up! Get a few stretches done!" The gym teacher called out as she walked into the room.
Theo was already furious that I was standing next to Josh and allowing him to flirt with me, but that wasn't enough. I needed to go the extra mile to really piss my boyfriend off, and I knew exactly how to really push him over the edge.
I made sure the teacher's attention was fixated elsewhere before I hopped in front of Josh, bending down to get a good stretch, and allowing my ass to rub up against his crotch. Josh was taken aback by my sudden action, but didn't hesitate to place his hands on my hips. I could no longer see Theo, but I didn't have to. I could just imagine the smoke coming out of his ears as he watched the scene in front of him.
I yelped as I was picked up and thrown over somebody's shoulder. It was Theo. "I'll deal with you later." He seethed at Josh - who now looked petrified. Theo's grip around me was tight and he ignored my fists hitting against his back demanding him to put me down. We left the gym and the next thing I knew is that I was being put down in the boys locker room.
"What the hell?" I groaned, adjusting my t-shirt and looking down to avoid his gaze. Wow, my shorts really were short.
"You're asking me." Theo scoffed, "what the hell were you doing??" His sudden yelling caused me to flinch and look up. I took a step back at the sight of his eyes glowing a bright yellow. I knew that my actions would upset him, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Especially since I was just doing the same thing as him.
I furrowed my eyebrows at him, now standing my ground. "I was doing exactly what you were doing with that girl earlier! I was trying to make you jealous." I crossed my arms over my chest, my voice also getting louder with each spoken word.
Theo kept quiet for a few moments before shaking his head, letting out a low chuckle. "I should've known you wouldn't let me get away with that."
I stared at him, a blank expression on my face. "Theo, why on earth were you trying to make me jealous?" My mind was trying to think of any possible reason, but there was absolutely none.
He didn't say anything, and I just stood there like an idiot waiting for an answer that probably wasn't going to come. But then he finally mumbled something, though I couldn't quite hear what he said.
"What?" I took a step towards him.
"We haven't had sex in a long time!" He said loud enough for me to hear. He almost looked embarrassed of his own reasoning for his actions.
"Uh, I'm on my period?"
"I know, that's what you always say."
My eyes slightly widened as an unexpected giggle fell from my lips. Theo rolled his eyes at me. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I didn't know you felt this way." He just shrugged his shoulders. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pressing my body against his before kissing him deeply. His lips were red and swollen when I pulled away. "Y'know, just because I'm on my period, doesn't mean I can't still pleasure you." I whispered, winking, and Theo's lips slightly parted, surprised by my words and sudden seductive demeanor.
"Come over tonight at eight?" I asked him as the locker room started filling up with the rest of the boys. I took that as my cue to leave. Theo never took his eyes off of me until I was completely out of sight.
