Chapter Twenty-Three, a surprise
~Momoko's P.O.V~
my eye lids fluttered open. i blinked trying to gain focus. i realized we were still at mahito's place. the place was empty. only a few people were still here. mahito, jude, and jen were drinking coffee sitting on the couch. miyako and boomer was asleep on the love seat together. kaoru and butch were asleep on the floor. Surprisingly she was cuddled up to butch. dai and nami were asleep on the other side of the room. brick and i were laying in the middle of the floor. we were laying in a spooning position. brick's arm was holding me tight. i propped myself up on my elbow. "well good morning", jude said. "morning", i said as i smiled. i suddenly felt a wave of sickness hit me. great... a hangover. i slowly started to push myself away from brick. "shmm no baby where you going?", brick murmured as he pulled me back into his arms. "bricky", i said as i laughed. i rolled over so i could face him. i leaned forward and kissed his cheek as i hugged him. i went to pull my arm away when i felt something wet. like a greasy feel. i pulled my hand away and looked at it. it had a coat of some kind of ointment or some thing. "brick what the hell is on your shoulder?", i asked. "i dont know...", brick murmered. i quickly sat up. "brick baby get up", i said. "hmm?"brick murmered as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. "brick i think some one spilled some thing on you or some thing", i said. "my back hurts", brick said as he looked up at me. "did you get hurt last night?", i asked. "i cant remember?", brick said. "i dont remember any thing either. here take off your shirt and i'll look", i said. brick quickly took off his tank top and turned around. i gasped and covered my mouth. "oh fuck!", i yelled in shock. "what!? what!?", brick asked. "brick you got a tattoo!", i yelled. "what!?", brick yelled. on brick's back/shoulder was a tattoo of a black crow. Under the crow In beautiful hand writing it said "It Can't Rain All The Time". "what the hell are you yelling about?", butch complained as he sat up. kaoru sat up to. miyako and boomer had also gotten up. along with dai and nami. "what is it of?", brick asked. "its a big ass bird! And it says it can't rain all the time.", i said. "oh thank god. i was afraid it would of been some thing dumb", brick said. "you know what. it actually does look pretty bad ass", i said. "it does?", brick asked. "wait brick got a tattoo?", butch asked as he crawled over to us. "yeah", i said. "whoa she is right it does look bad ass", butch said. "i think im going to get sick", brick said as he quickly pushed himself off the ground and ran to the hallway. "brick", i called as i quickly stood up and ran after him. i ran into the bath room just as brick started throwing up into the tiolet. "oh baby", i said softly as i gently rubbed my hand on brick's back trying to sooth him. i grabbed a hand towel and handed it to brick after he was done. brick quickly wiped off his face. he then walked over to the sink and turned on the water. he put his face under the facet to catch the water in his mouth. he swished the water around then spit it out. he did that a few times then he used some mouth wash that was on the counter. "feel better?", i asked. "a little bit", brick said as he wiped his mouth off. "look", i said as i grabbed brick's hand and pulled him over to the full length mirror. brick turned his head and looked into the mirror so he could see his tattoo. "your right. it does look good", brick said. "Why do you think you decided to get a crow?", I asked. "When I was younger my brothers and I used to love watching this movie called the crow", brick said. "Really?", I asked. "It's about a couple that is murdered the night before their wedding. So a year later a crow brings eric the man back to life and he goes and gets revenge on every one who killed him and his fiancé. And one of the lines in the movie was 'it cant rain all the time'. it was a really good movie", brick said. "We will have to watch it together some time", i said as i rubbed my hand on his back as we both walked back out into the living room with every one else. "feel better?", boomer asked. "a little bit", brick said as he grabbed his tanktop off the floor and put it on. i sat down on the floor next to kaoru and butch. brick laid down on the floor and put his head in my lap. i smiled softly down at brick as i ran my fingers through his soft hair. "wow this place is a mess", kaoru said as she looked around. "yeah that kinda thing happens after a party", mahito said as he smiled. "what time is it?", nami asked. "uh its going on three", jude said. "we slept till three in the after noon?", dai asked. "yeah", mahito said. "i really have to go. im going to be late for work.", nami said as she stood up. "hey uhh ill walk you to your car", dai said as he stood up. "thanks. mahito thanks for inviting me to your party. it was fun", nami said. "no problem", mahito said as he smiled. "it was good meeting all of you", nami said as she smiled and waved good bye. nami and dai walked out of the apartment. "i cant remember any thing. did they get together last night?", brick asked. "yeah there dating now", kaoru said. "aw they are?", i said as i smiled. "yep", kaoru said. "they make a great couple", i said as i smiled
~Kuriko's P.O.V~
i was sitting on the couch trying to figure out how to work my new phone since the punks lost my old one. "ugh i hate this", i muttered to myself. i was home alome for once. ever since berserk tried to use me to get to momoko my parents have hardly ever left my side because they was afraid for me. this is actually the first time they have left me alone since then. a knock at the door startled me and snapped me out of my thoughts. "huh? who could that be?", i murmured to myself. i quickly got up and walked over to the door. i opened the door to see ken. ken was holding beautiful red roses. he smiled as he seen me. "ken?", i said as i smiled. "uh can i uh come in? id like to talk", ken said shyly. "of course", i said as i stepped out of the way so he could come in. ken stepped into my house and i closed the door behind him. "uh these are for you", ken said as he handed me the roses. "oh well thank you! there beautiful", i said as i smiled. "i thought you might like them", ken said as he smiled. "would you like to go sit down?", i asked. "sure", ken said. we both walked to the living room. i set the roses down on the coffee table then sat down next to ken on the couch. "so uh im really sorry we haven't talked. i really hope your not mad at me", ken said. "no no. im not mad", i said as i smiled softly. "ever since uh our kiss i've been thinking alot about you. i've been trying so hard to get up the courage to come over and talk to you. but im just so shy it makes it hard. but then i seen what happened to you when the punks took you and i realized that some thing could of happened to you that day and i would of never gotten to talk to you. i care alot about you kuriko. truth is i've had a crush on you ever since we met", ken said. "really?", i said as i smiled. ken nodded his head. "so uh what im asking is uh well would you like to uhh well only if you wanted to go and umm--", ken stammered. "Ken?", i asked as i smiled. "yeah?", ken asked. "yes ill be your girlfriend", i said as i smiled. "really!?", ken said as he smiled happily. "yes", i said as i smiled. "thank you", ken said as he smiled. "you dont have to thank me ken", i said softly as i leaned forward and gave ken a soft kiss on the lips. ken blushed as i pulled away. i could feel my cheeks heat up as well. "so uh what's it like living as the only child in the house?", ken asked. "well its actually boring. i miss momoko", i said. "now you know how i feel. being an only child can get lonely. but at least i have peach", ken said. "oh yeah peach is your robot dog right?", i asked. "yeah. he is my best friend. he has all ways been there for me", ken said. "well ill always be here fo you now", i said as i smiled. ken smiled back at me. "so what's it like living in the same building as my sister?", i asked. "well its ok. we dont talk much unless its about business", ken said. "can i tell you some thing that i know?", i said. "sure?", ken said. "i know momoko is blossom. berserk told me", i said. i figured I'd tell him berserk told me instead of telling how i caught momoko as blossom. "berserk told you that?", ken asked. "yeah", i said. "do you believe her?", ken asked. "yeah i do. and i know about kaoru and miyako and i know about the boys", i said. "you haven't told any one have you?", ken asked. "no way. ill take that secret to my grave", i said. "good. does momoko know that you know?", ken asked. "yeah.", i said. "well why dont you come over and we can hang out at my place. i can show you some cool thing me and the professor has built", ken said. "sure that sounds fun", i said as i smiled. "really?", ken said as he smiled. "yep. its a date", i said.
~Momoko's P.O.V~
brick opened the front door to the lab and let every one walk in. once we were inside we walked into the main living room area. "momoko", a familiar voice said. i quickly turned my head to see her. "kuriko!", i said excitedly. kuriko quickly ran over to me engulfing me in a tight hug. i quickly hugged her back. "i've missed you so much", kuriko said. "i've missed you to", i said as i let her go. kuriko smiled at me. "so uh what are you doing here?", i asked. "uh ken is showing me around. he stopped by the house today", kuriko said. "really?", i asked. "yepp. your going to be seeing alot of her now", ken said as he walked over to kuriko taking her hand in his. my eyes went wide when i realized what he ment. "you finially asked her out?!", i gasped. ken blushed and nodded his head. "uh ken do you really think it will be a good idea to have her here allot with you know all the work we do?", kaoru asked. "uhh...", ken said. "i think she will be fine", i said. "but there are some secrets in this place that only workers should know", kaoru said. "yeah maybe you guys should hang out at kuriko's place?", butch said to ken. i looked at brick and gave him the "should i tell them" look. brick shrugged his shoulder as he understood me. do you think it would be best?, i mouthed. i dont know maybe?, brick mouthed back. "what are you to silently talking about?", kaoru asked noticing us. "uh well i guess you guys should know...", i said. "what is it?", kaoru asked. "well uh funny story actually. uhh do you remember me telling you when i moved out of my parents place i had to go in through my bed room window?", i asked. "yeah?", kaoru asked as she crossed her arms. "well we couldnt get in so we flew up and into my room and unknowingly kuriko was in the room and saw us transform back into our normal selves. and when she realized who we were she kinda put two and two together and realized who all of you were.", i said. "so you know who we are?", kaoru asked. kuriko nodded her head. "have you told any one?!", kaoru angrily demanded. "no", kuriko said quickly. "hey watch your tone with her! it's not her fault!", i said defending kuriko. "your right it isnt her fault... it's yours!", kaoru said as she crossed her arms. "so what? it was my fault! but seriously why would kuriko tell some one? im her sister. she knows if she told id be in danger. my family would be in danger so why the hell would she tell?", i said. "this doesnt just effect you! it effects all of us! it effects me, butch, dai, shou, my mom, my dad, boomer, brick, miyako, and her grandma!", kaoru said angrily. "dont you think i know that! i didnt want kuriko to know! this puts her in danger to! if any one knew that she knew a secret about the powerpuff girls z then every fucking villian would be after her!", i said. "you need to be more carefull!", kaoru said. "i am!", i said. "if you are then why does kuriko know? huh?", kaoru asked. "look kaoru our secret is safe with her. i trust her with it!", i said. "yeah i trust her to!", brick said. "i trust her", miyako said quietly. "yea i do to", boomer said. "i dont under stand you guys. how can you be okay with her knowing?", kaoru asked. "why would she tell?", miyako asked. " i dont know...", kaoru said as she crossed her arms. "what if dai found out about you? would he run off and tell all of his college buddies? nami? mahito? jude?", i asked. "he would never do that", kaoru said. "neither would kuriko!", i said. "kaoru baby calm down", butch said as he put a hand on her shoulder. kaoru shrugged it off. "whats wrong with her knowing?", butch asked. "i dont know its just its a person we dont work with and she knows", kaoru said. "kaoru kuriko is smart. she might just end up working along side ken", i said. "hey whats all the bickering about in here?", professor asked. "kuriko knows our secret", kaoru said. the professer nodded his head. "and she is also my girlfriend", ken said shyly. "well then welcome to the family", professer said. "aren't you pissed that she knows?", kaoru asked. "no. im glad its just her that knows and its not a starnger", professer said. kaoru crossed her arms. "is now a bad time to show you my new invention?", the professer asked. "its fine. lets see it", i said. we all quickly followed the professer into his main lab area. in the middle of the room was a table with a laser gun looking thing pointing down to it. "take off your belt momoko and set it on the table", professer said. "uh okay?", i said as i took off my belt and laid it down on the table. "brick yours to", proffesser said. brick quickly took off his belt and laid it down next to mine. "now step back", professer said. we all stepped back as the professer turned on the laser and shot our belt. within a few seconds the laser stopped. "put them on and transform", the proffesor said. brick and i quickly put the belts on then transformed. "whoa.... i feel stronger", i said. "damn you look so hot in that outfit momoko", brick said. "aw brick not in front of my sister!", i said as i blushed. "what are you talking about?", brick asked. "you just said i looked hot", i said. "no he didn't", kaoru said. "then what the hell did i hear?", i asked. "i dont know?. i said it in my head though", brick said. "let me explain. when your transformed now. if you say some thing and add the persons name to the end of the sentence in your head. the person you say can hear it in there head as well. its like mind reading but alittle more private. it only works when the other person is transformed as well", the professer said. "so we can read each others mind now?", i asked. ken nodded his head. "every one get to another side of the room.", the professer said. every one walked away except for brick and i. "now hold out you hands and say fire", professer said. brick and i held our hands out and said, "fire". as soon as the word came out of my mouth i could feel energy flow through my arm. a flame burned out of my hand. "what the hell?", i asked. "whoa", brick said as he seen the fire in his hand. "throw it at the test dolls", ken said. brick and i threw it at the test dummies. they both went up in flames. the professer quickly put them out with a fire extinguisher. "do it again but say lava and shoot it at the dummies", ken said. brick and i held out our hands and said, "lava". once again i felt the energy go through me and lava can out of my hands. i held my arm out and the lava shot out in a stream and hit the dummies. i closed my hand and the lava stopped. "oh shit", i said as i looked at my hand. "pretty cool huh?", the professor said as he extinguished the flames from the lava. "do you know how much damage i can do to berserk with this!", i said happily. every one laughed. "alright kaoru, butch its your turn. take off your belts and lets get them ready", the professor said. "cool what do we get?", kaoru asked. "you will see", ken said as he smiled. kaoru and butch quickly took off there belts and set them down on the table. after the professor entered something on his computer the laser started. within a few seconds it stopped. kaoru and butch grabbed there belts and put them on. every one else went back to the other side of the room leaving kaoru and butch standing alone. "alright hold out your hand and say wind", the professor said. kaoru and butch quickly transformed and held out there hands. "wind", kaoru and butch said. just as fast as they said it the wind started blowing hard. papers started flying around the room. the wind stopped when they put there hands down. "alright now aim for the dummie and say lightning", ken said. butch and kaoru raised there hand to the dummie and said, "lightning". a bolt of lightning shot out of each of there hands and hit the dummie causing it to burst into flames. "ohhh yeah!", kaoru said as she smirked. butch looked at kaoru and smiled. kaoru's face quickly turned red. "shut up! shut up! shut up! i dont want to hear those thoughts you perv!", kaoru said as she started slapping butch on the arm. butch laughed as he walked away from her. "come on at least it was private between us", butch said as he chuckled. kaoru rolled her eyes. after the professor finished putting out the flames he told miyako and boomer to put there belts on the table. miyako and boomer quickly took off there belts and set them down on the table. once again the professor entered some thing on his computer again then the laser started. When it was finished miyako and boomer quickly put on there belts and transformed and walked to the other side of the room. "now hold out your hands and say water", ken said. miyako and boomer both held out there hands and said, "water". a blast of streaming water went spiraling out of there hands and hit the dummies. when they put there hands down the water stopped. "whoa?", miyako said as she looked down at her hands. "now hold out your hands and say ice", professor said. miyako and boomer held out there hands and said,"ice". shards of ice quickly came flying out of there hands. once they put there hands down the ice stopped. "whoa", boomer said as he smiled. "so we get to use these powers every time we fight?", miyako asked. "well no not every time.. these powers can cause some serious damage. i only recommend you using them in real emergencies", proffesor said. "then why give them to us if we can't use them?", kaoru asked. "you can use them but just not allot", ken said. "and you need to learn how to fight with them first", the professor said. "so we have set up a arena for you guys to fight in", ken says as he smiles. "wait so we get to fight each other?", kaoru asked. "well only for practice but we can simulate the city so you can fight all the villians", ken said. "good we will need it", i said. "now theres one big thing you need to know. your powers cant hurt each other put they can weaken you", the professor said. "so if i shock momoko she wont feel it?", kaoru asked. "well no but she will be weakened from it and she will feel the pain from her strength being taken away but it's not going to hurt her like it would a normal person or one of the villians", ken said. kaoru looked over and smirked at me. i rolled my eyes and smiled back at her. "so when can we fight?", i asked. "well ken kind of jumped the gun telling you about the arena... we haven't tested it yet", professor said. "so what lets test it now", kaoru said. "we dont exactly know what its going to do", professor said. "so lets find out", ken said. "it could be dangerous!", professor said. "we're puffs we can handle it", kaoru said. "momoko, brick what do you think?", professor asked. "well as leader of the puffs i think we should give it a try", i said. "we will go in to", brick said. the professor pierced his lips and looked down. "i really dont think its ready...", the professor said.
