Y/N POV
I was sitting in my room when my older sister Sarah walked into my room.
"I need you to go out and find David and Les" She said
"Okay" I answered her
I got up and changed into a dress with a pair of boots.

I walked outside and down the streets of Manhattan, the strike has been over for a month now but David still hangs out with the newises. They are really nice to me so I don't mind. David is my older brother and Les is my younger brother. I was walking till I got to the lodging house, I walked inside to see Specs reading on the chair.
"Hey Specs, hows the book?" I asked
"Its good, its nice to have something to do when I ain't workin" Specs said
"Oh is David and Les here?" I asked
"Upstairs" Specs said
I nodded my head before walking up the stairs, I walked into the bunk room to see all the newsies sitting around a table.
"You better not be teaching my little brother poker" I said
"Y/N"Les yelled while running over to me
"Hi Les, did you enjoy your night with the boys?" I asked
"Yes" Les said
"Where's David" I asked
"Somewhere with Jack" Les answered me "Can we stay a little longer please?"
"Sure thing kiddo" I said
Les ran over to the boys and I walked over to them and took a seat next to Race. I watched as they played poker and after a few minutes David came walking in with Jack. David walked over to me and he puled me into a hug, I hugged David back before pulling away and grabbing Les. We started to walk home when I heard a cry from something, I told David to head home with Les and I went to see what was crying. I went into an alley to see a tiny puppy all alone and it was hurt.
"Oh you poor thing, come here" I said
I fixed my dress and sat down next to the puppy before it climbed onto my lap, as I was sitting there I heard footsteps coming closer to me. I looked up as the puppy started to growl, I was face to face with Oscar Delancy.
"Hey princess" He said
"Don't call me princess Oscar, I gotta get home" I said
I picked up the puppy and started to walk out, as I walked passed Oscar he grabbed my wrist and turned me around. I looked him in the eyes and pulled my wrist away. I walked out yet I knew Oscar was following me, as I walked I saw Jack. I walked to Jack who saw Oscar behind me, so Jack walked up to me and he placed his arm around me wast. Oscar walked away for us and Jack looked at me.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you" Jack asked
"I'm okay Jack. I have to head home" I said
"Let me walk you Y/N" Jack said
I nodded my head as we started to walk to my house I grabbed Jacks hand as we walked, the little puppy followed close behind me. We still had a bit till we got to my house when it started to rain, my hair started to fall out when Jack pulled my hair down. I smiled as the rain fell down my face, we kept walking till we reached my house. I climbed up the fire escape and opened my window.
"Bye Y/N" Jack said
"Bye Jack" I said
I climbed inside my room to see David, I share a room with David and Sarah shared with Les. David looked at me as I pulled the puppy out from under my dress.
"I found a dog" I said
David chuckled as he pet the puppy, he sat down on the floor near me.
"I haven't names it yet. Its a boy by the way" I said
"Name him Lucky" David said
"Lucky I like it" I said
I puppy let out a small bark which caused me and David to hush him, I smiled before letting out a yawn.
~TIME SKIP~
I woke up before Davey so I got changed into my dress for work, it's an old dress that is a light blue. I have work today, I work at a small yet popular restaurant. I pulled my hair into a ponytail before putting my boots on and heading off to work. When I got to work I smiled at my boss before grabbing my notepad and pencil. I went to my first table and took their order. I went back to the kitchen and handed the chef their order.
~TIME SKIP~
After who know how many hours of working my boss finally let me leave. I rubbed my eyes as I walked outside. As I walked home I ended up bumping into someone. I looked up to see Jack.
"Sorry Jack" I mumbled
I went to walk past him but he grabbed my hand.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked me
"I'm fine, just really tired" I answered Jack
"Here, let me walk you home" Jack said
"Actually I was planning on clearing my mind before going home." I told Jack
I grabbed his hand and pulled him along with me. As we walked I noticed the sky was starting to get darker.
"I should get you home, it's gonna rain" Jack said
"Live a little" I giggled
I pulled Jack down the empty streets till we reached the Brooklyn Bridge. I stood by the edge and looked into the water. I felt Jack grab my waist and he picked me up and span me around. I smiled and as I looked at Jack. Rain poured down on us as our lips touched. I know this is wrong because Sarah likes Jack but here we are kissing in the rain. Almost every girls dream getting their first kiss in the rain. I pushed Jack away and blushed.
"This is wrong, I can't do this. Sarah likes you, I can't do this to her" I ranted
Jack placed his hand on my waist making me quit up. Jack didn't say a work he just pressed his lip on mine again. When we pulled away Jack looked down at me and smirked.
"Now may Is' walk yous home?" Jack asked
"You may" I said
Jack took my hand a walked me home, when I walked through the front door my mother gasp because I was dripping wet.I walked passed her and into my room, when I got inside I saw Davey sitting by the window with Lucky laying beside him. they are so cute.
Jacks POV
I walked Y/N home and before she left she gave me a peck on the cheek, I started to walk back to the lodging house. As I walked I got a thinkin what if she doesn't want to go to Santa Fe with me. That won't be till I have enough money, I took off my hat and pushed my hair out of my face. When I got into the lodging house I saw all the boys half asllep.
"All righty boys, head to bed. you'll look dead" I said
The boys nodded and headed off to bed, I climbed on to the roof. I laid down to look at the stars, it seems werid but this is my only escape from reality. I was snapped out of my thoughs by a shadow appearing next to me, I looked over to see Y/N.
"What are you doing here, you stuipd gorl" I asked
"I couldn't sleep" She answered me
I stood up and looked at her, I pulled her into a hug and soon pulled her down next to me. I was petting her head to I knew she was fast asleep. I kissed her forehead as I watched her sleep, she looked so peaceful and not scared that the world will kill her if she does the wrong thing. I blushed slightly as she wrapped her my waist, she's gonna be the end of me. I know Sarah likes me but if she is really a nice sister she will be happy for us. I hope this realationship will last.
