I broke out of my past recalling moment when I felt someone shake my shoulders. I noticed it was none other than my dear mate. I felt Vlaxin trying to break out and take control of my body. He yearned for a warm hug from his mate. He desired to hold her against him. I knew, how much he regretted what he did in his past to Amanda.
"Xanthos! Are you okay? I have been trying to wake you up from whatever trance you were in." Her worried eyes made me dart my eyes away from hers; I felt really horrible.
"I am fine, you needn't worry about me. How are you feeling? Better?" I didn't meet her eyes once instead kept my head lowered. Though that incident happened many years ago, I felt like it happened today. I didn't know where she had so much strength to bear the abuse she went through. "How're you getting treated at your home?"
"Well, thanks to you, they puke blood if they try something on me," she said scrunching her nose.
I pinched her cheeks causing them to go red. I love the fact that I can make her blush.
"Did you make mac and cheese?" Bella asked sitting criss-cross on the bed whilst pointing out the plate which was set up on the nightstand. I nodded my head slowly. She looked at the plate and then back at me.
I chuckled at her cute expression. "I prepared it for you, Mio Amore."
"Really?" She whispered. I pointed at the plate with my index finger and signalled her to eat. She picked it up and took a small bite. "You made it?" She asked while chewing, her voice was muffled. Oh, goddess, she's so cute. I grinned whilst shaking my head. "Woah!" She exclaimed. I was glad she liked it. "Want a bite?" she offered. I shook my head.
"It's for you too," She said and frowned and lifted her fork up to feed me.
I leaned my head near the fork but instead swivelled and sucked her thumb. Her face lit up a bright red. I took the fork from her hands and pushed it towards her mouth. She kept her lips sealed shut. I placed the fork in between her lips. This time she got up from the bed and ran to the other side of it causing me to chuckle.
'Mate wants a chase.' Luciano said excitedly. I shook my head and tittered internally.
"Come on Bella! Eat the food," I demanded her while playfully glaring at her.
"I don't want to! Not when you do whatever you did right now!" She blushed brightly and placed a hand on her chest, heaving heavily.
"Aren't you hungry?" She shook her head. I jumped to the other side of the bed.
She gaped at me. "H-How--" she stuttered. Me and my wolf let her run as she started sprinting in the direction of the hallway.
She whirled behind and shook her head, disappointedly, "See! I'm faster than you!" She hollered. She reached the back door which leads to the forest. She twisted the knob but before she could step out, I snaked my arms around her waist and pulled her flush against me and sniffed her scent as silently as possible.
"Yeah, you are my mate after all." I smirked. She attempted to escape from my grip. However, I didn't let her go. "Relaxat" I commanded softly, she relaxed under my grip. "Now, come on let us get you filled with mac and cheese." She shook her head.
"I want to go out in the forest." She pleaded with her eyes.
'I would do anything for you, Bella.' Vlaxin whispered in my head. He was continuously muttering sentences like "I'm sorry", "I shouldn't have done it", to himself from last ten minutes.
'You need to stop rambling Vlaxin, The mistake was done and you realized it. That means you needn't blame yourself for it anymore.' Luciano said I agreed with him.
I blocked them both and gave my attention to Bella.
"Why?"
Bella looked around before answering, "It was my momma's and my benign habitat. She used to take me to insect adventure. Forest actually has so many good memories."
"So, will you at least eat while walking in the forest?" She had to eat the food I have made. I was sure she needed glucose in her body.
"Okay!" She feigned excitement.
I opened the back door and assured Bella out to the forest. "I feel like it has been years ago lastly I came to the forest."
"Yeah, Even I do feel it has been a long time. I used to run every day but now I suddenly became a lazy ass," I confessed causing Bella to giggle.
'Surely you are.' Luciano huffed.
"Now open your mouth." I lifted the fork up and fed her as she absent-mindedly opened her mouth. She was lost in her own thoughts as she was touching each and every tree leaf softly with a small smile on her face.
We walked silently for around five minutes with me enjoying her presence near me. I wanted her to stay with me and leave her so called family. But I knew, she would be scared out of her mind if she was asked to live with a stranger, that was why I gave her ten days to prepare herself but I couldn't control the urge of keeping her close.
'You dumb person, we should have asked her to move in with us yesterday itself,' Luciano chastised me.
'You too wanted to give her some time."
'But not anymore, Okay! Now ask!'
"Let's share my home from tomorrow." I breathed out heavily as I rushed my words.
"What, why?" She looked at me confusedly. "I wanted to see them puke more blood and loose my appetite everyday." She added sarcastically.
"I know but let's speed up the process to end them!" I exclaimed excitedly. I wanted to stay near me.
"We sound like some psychopaths, you know?" She laughed lightly.
"We're dealing with psychopaths so of course," I said knowing well enough that I'm planning psychopathic ways to end them. They had no rights to harm my queen.
"Hold on, you're not gonna kill them right?" She asked with squinted eyes. "You'll be caught by some upper official and will be on news once they find about you."
I stoped walking and looked at her as if she was an alien. "You know I'm not a human right?" I tucked her hair behind her ear. "If they catch me, I can make them forget about me. Plus, my world is nothing related to yours. You're purely human but your abusers are not. We've our laws."
"You are seriously not planning to kill them right? My god."
"If they do something to you, I'll seriously kill them."
"Make this clear for me, Xanthos." She gulped. "What am I to you that you do so much for me?"
I smiled and asked, "what do you think?"
"I don't wanna embarrass myself by saying what I think, that's why I'm asking you, to clarify our relationship."
"I- Way to ruin my confession," I said completely annoyed.
"What?"
'A Vampire had to come just in time!' Luciano exclaimed annoyed as well. 'He must be single.'
She slowly averted her eyes towards the Vampire. I saw them slowly widening. She rubbed her eyes as if she wanted to convince herself that what she was gazing at wasn't real.
"What the hell? Vampires exist as well?" She whispered gulping audibly.
She then started to take slow steps towards the vampire as soon as she made eye contact with him. Vlaxin and Luciano stirred to come out.
'We have to stop her!' I heard Luciano's panicked voice. 'I can sense this vampire to be one of the ancient ones. He is gifted with hypnotising ability.'
A roar erupted from the bottom of my chest making Bella stop for a split second before she continued strolling towards the vampire who now had an evil smirk plastered on his dirt-covered ugly ass face.
I can't shift in front of Bella so, I tried using my powers as a warlock but I felt something stopping me. My sorcery weakness. I looked around for my magic spells weakness, I spotted Black orchids, I sighed. The witch's curse was actually working on me even after two hundred years. Just because I destroyed her orchid garden I was cursed.
Bella was robotically moving in the direction of the vampire. She was only three feet away from that leach. The thought of that creature sucking my Bella's blood had my blood boiling.
In a flash, I was in front of the vampire. For a moment his eyes widened before the evil smirk masked his astonishment.
"I'm impressed. Move from my way so that I could have my beverage."
"What if I don't want to move and instead want to suck your life?" I asked and stared straight in his eyes. He was surprised when his hypnosis didn't work on me.
"Xanthos." A voice whimpered. I peered behind from my right shoulder.
My body started trembling as soon as I saw Bella being held by four other bloodsucking asses. One of them had his lips on the crook of Bella's neck. My breathing became laboured. Vlaxin serenity was becoming thin.
"She looks like a fucking material, mehlekazi," one of them mumbled.

This broke Luciano's serenity. He let out a loud growl and took control of my body.
I was no longer Xanthos.
In a fraction of second, he snapped a branch from the tree beside us. Our eyes were blazing a vibrant gold. His lips twisted upwards into a smirk. I felt claws maturing from my fingers and toes and Fur sprouting throughout my body. We were satisfied when we completed our half transition.
He didn't mind that mate was watching us. He knew she had so many questions. Hell, I was sure she was now surprised.
He pushed the tree branch through 'mehlekazi's' chest. Straight through his heart, it came out covered with blood. He swirled around and in less than a second, he slaughtered the other three vampires. He couldn't kill the fourth one who was busy savouring our mate's neck, preparing himself for piercing his canines in her delicate neck.
He gestured our mate with his eyes to kick his family jewels. Her face had a look of confusion before it twisted into a look of understanding, so she nodded her head. She turned around and kicked his precious area, hard.
He ran right behind him. So, he caught him before he could touch the ground.
He growled. Using his claws, he split him into two pieces and cleansed his heart out of his body. Blood splashed on my face. However, we didn't give a fuck about it. He turned around to meet my mate's eyes.
She just looked bewildered and stood frozen. Our heart started to thump rapidly.
