"You what??"
Taehyung sighs, placing down the new set of knives.
"You heard me hyung, I'm not going to say that again."
"Oh my god Taehyung-ah! How was it?" He whispered the last part, eyes shining with excitement and curiosity.
Taehyung's lips turned up as his eyes looked distant, like he was recalling something. "It was for real the best feeling ever."
"Aahh, you little thing." Seokjin smirked, nudging him with his shoulder. "You fell in love didn't you?"
Taehyung blinked at that, almost losing his balance as he came back from his daydream. "W-what? No. What are you talking about?" He blushed. "It was j-just.. a heat of the moment or something."
"Yeah yeah whatever you say." Seokjin rolled his eyes as he examined a large pan, flipping it in the air swiftly as if saving the younger from his embarrassment. "So how did she put up with that?"
Taehyung sighed for like, the tenth time this day. "It was nothing she had expected- well neither did I but... she kissed me back."
Seokjin almost dropped the pan with shock. "She did?? Yaah, you're really living it." But he stopped the moment he saw the younger's sad features. "Hey what's with the frown, isn't that what you two wanted?"
Taehyung looked away. "At least it was to me." Me mumbled to himself but Seokjin heard that.
"What was that?"
"Nothing. "
"Yaah! What are you hiding? Just spill it already." He said impatiently.
Taehyung retrieved his hand away from the plate and locked his jaw tightly, finally meeting his gaze.
"Hyung.." he wetted his lips and swallowed the lump forming in his dry throat. "I think.. I think J-Jimin is in love with someone else."
"WHAT?" Seokjin practically screamed, capturing a few stares but it was the least of his worries at that moment. "H-how??"
"I've heard that hyung, I've heard her talking to someone and he was literally confessing to her." Taehyung fought the pang on his chest with a soft broken smile.
"How fucking dare he? Isn't he aware that she's a married woman?? And who's that lil dumbass in the first place I swear to god I'mma-"
"Hyung." Seokjin stopped at the younger's tone. "You see this is why I shouldn't have told you and I'm definitely not gonna tell you who is it."
"Why? You're afraid imma beat his desperate ass? And wait- hold on, is he someone that I know?"
"Yes... and yes." The older's eyes widened and Taehyung had to speak again. "And don't bother asking. I'm really not telling you anymore."
"I'm.." Jin rubbed his face in frustration.
"I know.."
"So what did you do about that?"
"Nothing." Taehyung shrugged thoughtlessly.
"Excuse me?" Seokjin shrieked dramatically.
"There's nothing I can do about it hyung. We promised that we'd respect if any of us fell in love outside the wedding circle and you know that right?" Taehyung sounded so defeated.
"B-but.. but she kissed back right? She should've just reject you know?" Something tugged at Taehyung's heart as he heard the hopeful tone of his hyung. If he only knew...
"Yeah but she had a mini breakdown afterwards, which made me helplessly remind her of our promise.." was it the twentieth time Taehyung had sighed today?
"And?"
"And.. nothing. She said nothing she just kept crying."
"Well maybe she's just confused with her own mixed feelings." Seokjin stepped closer to the younger, placing his hand on his shoulder in a comforting manner. "Just give her some time Tae. From what I see, I think she at least likes you, if not something more. Don't rush things and let her decide, yeah?"
"Yeah"
Taehyung groans, breaking free from his daydream as he felt something jump on his laps, or someone, to be more precise.
"What is it Minnie?" He makes a face as he stares at the pouting little facing him.
They're currently still in the living room, watching some cartoons marathon when Taehyung found himself recalling this morning's events and solely his conversation with Seokjin at the mall.
It just seems like him spacing out isn't pleasing for the little's sake.
"Tae don' watch wit Minnie don' pway wit Minnie." The pout deepens and Taehyung's heart aches. "Minnie is sad. T-Tae not miss Minnie?"
Just at that moment, Taehyung wishes the floor would split in two and swallow him whole. Anything would be mercier than making her regret being little again after a while.
"What? No, baby." He emphasizes with his honey like voice. "We just ate and played and watched a lot already didn't we? Of course I'm missing you so much. I'm so sorry, but Tae was just thinking of some stuff about work."
The little hums, "wan cuddles" she looks so vulnerable at the moment, like she's on the verge of crying.
"Of course baby." Taehyung cooes. "Come here." He says hugging her closer and engulfing her in his embrace tightly and rather protectively.
He hates how he just made her feel. He almost cursed himself because she doesn't deserve this. Minnie has nothing to do with all of this mess. He kept chanting silently to himself.
Like she always do, Minnie nestles her petite figure into his warm arms and makes herself comfortable. On cue, Tae circles his hand on her back, holding her close with the other while humming a soft tune out of nowhere. Though he's caressing her carefully because he knows how ticklish she is around her sides. And he needs to calm her nerves for now.
Taehyung misses this. He likes how they're never foreign to skinship. They're almost never seen around the house without holding each other one way or another.
He smiles after a while as he feels her relax in his hold. He doesn't need to check but he knows that her eyes are closed at the moment as she enjoys this soft moment. He can tell by how quiet she is at the moment.
He can't help but think, why is she back right now?
It's not like he's complaining but Minnie coming out in such a fragile state in their relationship is giving him tons of questions.
If she's being needy for affection despite everything they're going through right now, then why's she running to him? Why not going to him? To the one who offered her care and attention?
His heart clenches at the thought, and he finds himself hugging her tighter at the thought, holding her closer as if she might slip away from his embrace at any giving second.
A content noise escapes the littles lips at that moment, warming up Taehyung's insides in no time as he felt her snuggle her face deeper into the crook of his neck, taking in the scent that she indeed has missed so much.
Taehyung couldn't hide his smile anymore.
"At least you still chose me." He thought to himself.
