Getting Cami to Lily Gardens was one of the hardest tasks of my life.

She asked so much questions that I was so close to telling her just so she could shut up but I remembered my brother and how much he begged me not to spill.

He had called me so much that I began to ignore his calls because of the annoyance I was developing towards him.

So here I was, so much crying(thanks to the pregnancy hormones), a beautiful speech and a YES later, hanging around the park because my brother and my best friend were literally eating each other's faces off.

The garden was beautifully decorated but it didn't need much because like the name, it had lilies all around.

Dray had managed to make preparations for food and drinks so it was more like a picnic after the proposal.

I was stuffing my plate with food when I heard my name.

"Kaybear!" The man-child I happen to know called from behind me which caused me to scowl at him as I turned.

"You really have to stop calling me that in public."

"And where's the fun in that?" He said with a broad smile and I couldn't help but smile back as he hugged me.

"How are you?" I asked him as I pulled away.

"Great actually." He said again still smiling which made me give him a suspicious look until I noticed there was someone behind him and not just anyone but a lady.

"Hello." I said to her with a polite smile.

"Hi." She answered shyly which caused me to give him a look to know who she was.

"This is Lisa." He said and my eyes widened in realization as my smile grew bigger.

"Oh my gosh! I finally get to meet you. I've heard so much about you." I gushed as I pulled her into a bear hug and I felt her relax a bit as she returned my smile.

"It's so nice to meet you Lisa. I'm Kayla." I said after I pulled away not wanting to pull the last name because I didn't even know which one was mine.

"It's nice to meet you too Kayla. I've also heard much about you but he failed to tell me how beautiful you are." She said now warming up to me.

"Oh please, that's what I'm supposed to say to you because you're more beautiful than I thought." I said to her and I was right.

She was a brunette about the same height as me with blue eyes as clear as the sea, her heart shaped face complemented her face perfectly and the shape of her body was just like a model's, just not as skinny if you know what I mean.

Her blue eyes complimented her blue dress and black flats and even with minimal makeup, she managed to look stunning.

Brandon was so lucky to find someone as beautiful as this.

"Thank you." She said blushing profusely.

"You're welcome." I said and turned to give Brandon an approving wink which caused him to blush too.

Awwn! Too cute.

"I hope Brandy here isn't being a mean boss because if he is just let me know, I'll gladly kick his ass for you." I asked her which caused Brandon to scowl at me because of the nickname I'd given him and I brushed him off with a laugh.

"No he isn't. Not everytime though." She said with a small smile.

"Just let me know when he misbehaves." I said smiling back at her.

"So how long will you be gone for?" Brandon asked trying to take away the attention from him and I gladly let him.

"Two weeks tops. Teddy planned to kill me if I stayed longer." I said getting exciting at the thought of my trip.

"Well I hope you have all the fun in the world and you better come back with souvenirs or else I'll castrate you at the airport." He said with scowl.

"I'm going to miss you too Brandon." I said with a small laugh as I rolled my eyes.

"Well I'm not because I'm going to call you every day and night."

"It's a vacation to get away Brandy, not to get closer to you on the phone." I said in a duh tone.

"You better pick up anytime I call." He said totally ignoring what I said.

"Man child." I said with a tired sigh and heard Lisa laugh from beside him.

"How do you deal with him?" I asked her with a look of fake horror.

"He's usually not like this." She said with an amused smile.

"I guess it's just me he reserves this for just to torture me." I said with an angry look in his direction.

"No Kayla, it's just because I love you." He said as he forcefully pulled me in for another hug.

"Get off and get a life Brandy." I said shoving him.

"I have one and I love it."

"That's sad because you need a new one." I said shaking my head at him.

He was about to reply when Cami's voice interrupted us.

"I guess I'll see you guys around? Have fun! See you later Lisa." I called quickly as I turned to walk towards my best friend and her future husband who also happened to be my big brother.

What did I say about my life being a movie again?

Yeah, that.

"Well I'm glad you've stopped eating each other's faces. Like the jelly bean in you isn't enough for you to learn. I'm so glad I'm leaving on Monday." I said rolling my eyes with a small smile.

"Do you really have to go?" Cami asked with a childish pout.

"For the fifty seventh time Cami, yes I do. And I won't be gone for long I promise." I said smiling at her.

"But I'm really going to miss you and Jelly Bean will too."

"It's two weeks Cami, not two decades and I know the only reason you're complaining is because I'm not going to be able to cook for you anymore."

"Come on May, that's just part of it." She said with an amused smile.

"Well in that case I'm glad I'm leaving."

"But I'll miss you."

"And I'm not leaving till Monday, you still have two more days to see me."

"Come on babe, I already promised I'll be home early from now on and we all know she needs this." Drayton finally spoke up from beside her.

"I know but-"

"No buts. She's leaving but on the bright side, we get to leave her too after the wedding." Dray said with a small smile which she was quick to return.

That traitor.

"Hey family!" We were suddenly interrupted by my sister's voice.

"Hey Ella." I greeted her with a smile as I hugged her.

I hadn't really seen her after the night we slept together and I'd been pretty busy for the rest of the week.

"How are you baby girl?" She asked with a bright smile which resembled mine.

"I'm very well. I'm set to leave on Monday, I just need to pack a few more things and I'll be gone by morning."

"Well I'll be there to go with you all to the airport."

"That's great."

She finally turned to Cami and congratulated her on her engagement and also welcomed her to the family but I was quick to zone out.

I had been doing that lately, just zoning out of conversations and thinking of nothing in particular.

Before long, I'd finished the food on my plate and I looked around to see Brandon and Lisa talking and laughing and I couldn't help the smile that crept up on my face. I was so happy to see him so happy and then something tugged at my heart.

I was so happy for everyone around me but I wasn't happy myself and it was ironical.

I guess when things were working out for everyone. I wasn't included.

I quickly zoned back into the conversation before they noticed and at that moment they were talking about wedding.

Great! We're going to be here for a long time.

Cue the signature eye roll.

************************************

One week in Hawaii was the best one week of my life.

I'd successfully gotten a tan thanks to being on the beach for so long and also added a bit of flesh and I wasn't complaining.

The point was to spoil myself and I could just put in a bit of work at the gym.

Here's the downside though, I hate exercise.

I pushed my possible fatness aside and continued my tan under the sun, my Ray bans covering my eyes, my pink and white polka dot bikini on my body and my ring a thousand miles away from me back at my
brother's house which I was starting to regret because of the amount of guys I've had to brush away.

It was really tiring.

I was closing my eyes and enjoying the warmth if the sun on my skin when everywhere suddenly became darker.

I snapped my eyes open to meet a similar pair of blue eyes staring down at me with a smile.

Well this isn't creepy at all.

"Can I help you?" I asked taking off my shades to give him a questioning stare because unlike the other guys that tried to hit on me, he looked like he knew me.

"Kayla right?" He asked.

"Do I know you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm not sure but I know you." He said still smiling.

"How?"

"We met at the club a few months back. You were pretty wasted and you were with your friend, I think her name was Cami or something. You said your name was Kayla Andrews or Anderson and you weren't sure because you didn't see a ring on your finger and I still can't see one right now." He said all at once while staring at my hand and I mentally gave myself a serious beating.

What the hell Kayla? A freaking stranger knows so much about you!

"Well I'm sorry but I don't know you." I said as politely as I could.

"I'm James." He said.

"Okay James." I said in a tone that signaled the end of our conversation but I guess he didn't get the hint because he proceeded to sit in front of me.

"So why are you here?" He asked with peaked interest but I wasn't interested.

"I honestly don't see how that has anything to do with you." I said putting my shades back on.

"Oh come on, I'm just trying to be friendly here."

"Well I'm not here to make friends." I said with a careless shrug.

"It's Hawaii Kayla, live a little." He said and I gave him a bored look but he couldn't see my eyes.

"I'm trying to do just that but you're here stopping me."

"Actually I'm trying to help you because you've been here for a week and you haven't really done anything." He said like it was the most random thing in the world.

"Should I be worried that you've been stalking me?" I said raising my eyebrows at him and finally taking off my shades to look at him.

"I'm not stalking you Kayla, I just happen to see you everyday. Plus you're not a very hard woman to miss, you're too beautiful to not be noticed." He said and I couldn't help but blush at his comment.

"Thank you but that doesn't mean I still don't find you creepy."

"Well we can change it. Have dinner with me." He said more like a demand than a question.

"I'm married." I quickly blurted out.

"I don't see a ring on your finger but don't worry, I'm not trying to snatch you from your imaginary husband."

He said with a mischievous smile.

"He's not imaginary." I said with a scowl.

"Of course." He drawled and I was about to talk back when I suddenly stopped.

There was really no point because I wasn't even sure I'd remain married after my trip.

"So what do you say?" He asked again.
I paused for a while and realized I had nothing to lose. I'd been here for a week doing nothing so changing things wouldn't hurt me.

"Fine." I said before I could over think it.

"Great. I'll pick you up by eight." He said, his wide smile back on his face as he stood up and turned to leave when I suddenly remembered something.

"Wait!" I called out to him when he had gone a bit far and he turned back immediately.

"How am I supposed to dress?"

"Just be comfortable." He said with a smile and turned to walk away.

I sat there for a while and suddenly got bored so I packed my stuffs and moved back to my room since it was already two in the afternoon, I decided to to grab a light lunch on my way up.

As soon as I got to my room, I dumped my stuffs on the chair and moved to get my phone when I realized I had twenty missed calls from my best friend.

I rolled my eyes and dialled her back and she was quick to pick on the third ring.

"Where the hell have you been?" She all but screamed at me.

"At the beach like I always am so calm your shit woman!" I snapped back at her.

"But I was worried when you didn't pick up."

"What normal person calls someone twenty times even after knowing the person isn't available?" I said with a tired sigh.

"Your best friend in the whole world that's who!" She screamed again and I just laughed at her.

"I seriously pity your kids." I said shaking my head with a smile.

"At least if they run away from me I know they'll come to you." She said and I could tell she was smiling.

"And the award for mother of the year goes to Annabel Camilla Winters." I said with my voice dripping sarcasm.

"Oh please. My children will love me."

"Of course they will." I said and rolled my eyes. "Speaking of children, how's Jelly Bean?"

"Doing well. I have another checkup tomorrow." She said and I could imagine her puppy dog eyes.

"Drop the look Cami, you know I can't be there so I'll just call you to know how everything went."

"I hate that you know me so well."

"It's called love you dummy." I said with a small smile.

"Whatever. So what did you do today?"

"I met someone actually." I said sitting up a little.

"Nicki Minaj?" She asked with a huge gasp.

"You're an idiot." I deadpanned.

"Oh come on May it's very possible." She said laughing.

"Yeah right. When pigs fly."

"Hater. Now tell me who you met." She pressed.

"I'm not sure you remember him because I don't but his name is James. He said he met us the night we went to the club, apparently I was so wasted I told him the story of my life."

There was a short paused on her end before she finally responded.

"Oh I think I remember him. He was the dude that try to hit on you at the club before we left."

"Well at least I'm glad he isn't a stalker."

"Why?"

"Because he asked me to have dinner with him."

"And what did you say?"

"I said yes." I answered in a bored tone.

This time around there was a long pause and I had to move the phone away from my ear to see if it was still connected.

"Cami are you still there?" I asked.

"Um-yeah."

"Where did you go?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Nowhere. I just didn't realize you were moving on so fast. I mean you're not even divorced yet. Are you really going to leave Jason?" She said all at once.

"Relax Cami. It's dinner not a freaking marriage. It's just that I haven't done anything since I got here and it just feels really nice to have someone to talk to in person and not over the phone. No offence to you guys."

"But you don't even know this guy, how can you even trust him?"

"Well we have to start from somewhere don't we?"

"But-"

"Relax Cami, I'll be fine." I assured her.

"I'm not worried about you." She said with a tired sigh.

"Then who are you worried about?" I asked, confused.

"Jason." She said and there was a long pause from me.

"Cami-"

"Look May I know you don't want to hear this but he's miserable without you and when he saw the ring you left behind, I thought he was going to go crazy."

"You gave him the ring?!" I screamed at her.

"No I didn't. He saw it when he came over to look for you. You left it on the side stool in your room and he went in there and saw it. He actually cried." She said with a sad tone.

"But-I didn't mean I was leaving him. I just wanted to think about it without him constantly being around and the ring was a sign."

"Will you call him?" She asked in a pleading tone.

"I can't do that. The whole point of this vacation was to get away from him and rethink my life. My calling him will just mean it was all useless and I'm not sure I want to go back."

"Do you not love him anymore?" She asked quietly.

"I do. I'm just scared of getting hurt by him again. A girl can only take so much."

"I know but ever since you and Jason sorted out your shit, you've been happier than I've ever seen you. Even more happy than when you were with Tony and that's all I ever want for you, to be happy because you deserve every bit of it and I know he's the cause of it. But there's one thing I'm sure of."

"What's that?"

"That man is crazy about you. Whatever you do May, make sure you're doing what's best for you because you deserve all the happiness in the world." She said and I could feel myself tearing up.

"Oh Cami-"

"I know, I'm already crying." She said and I could her her sniffle over the phone.

"Your pregnancy hormones are crazy but you know I love you right?" I asked with a small smile.

"I love you too May." She said and I could imagine her smile was as big as mine.

"Now go get ready for your date but be sure to warn the man not to get too handsy or I'll fly down there and kill him myself."

"I'll relay your message mother." I said with a small smile.

"Well good. I have to go now, I have work to do but make sure you call me with all the details. Have fun!"

"I will. Bye!" I called back and hung up.

I stared at my phone for a while and before I knew it, I was going through my gallery until I stumbled upon a familiar video.

It was the one I took of Jason and I the day we went to my parents house.

I was dancing and he was singing and there was a time where I was dancing so hard and he was looking at me like I was the most amusing person in the whole world and the smile on his face displayed one emotion.

Love.

That was the day I told him I loved him.

I paused the video at that exact moment and just stared at his face and before I knew it, I was crying.

I didn't know why but I just kept crying.

I cried because I missed him, I cried because I was scared of him hurting me again but at the same time I so badly wanted to go back to him to hug him, to kiss him and to tell him I much I loved him.

I missed sleeping with his arms around me and my neck buried in the crook of his neck, I missed his scent.

I missed Jason.

I scrolled past and looked at the other pictures of us, when we were on our way to work, when we were just lazying around in bed.

Now that I thought about it, we had so many pictures of us together but I didn't have one of our wedding day.

But then again we weren't really the best couple.

I finally dropped my phone after resisting the urge to dial his number and moved to the bathroom to have a long thoughtful shower about my life and when I was done, it was half past seven.

I quickly dried my body and settled to leave my hair in their wavy state due to the water. I applied a bit of mascara and eyeliner and complimented it with lip gloss since it was just dinner and I silently prayed it was nothing fancy.

I settled for my blue dress paired with my not so high silver heels since I wanted to be comfortable and fancy at the same time.

Just as I was about to fix my other earring, there was a knock on the door.

I wore my earring and picked up my purse and phone as I took a last look in the mirror.

Pleased with the way I looked, I adjusted my hair for the last time and opened the door.

Who missed me?🙋‍♀🙋‍♀
