"You called me over here to just...channel someone?" I asked.
"Yes. No one else could and I know you have the most power of most Feys." Miriam Fey spoke, grabbing something out of a wooden box.
Miriam Fey was new here, but she was already worshipped. She's really suspicious and not good at hiding, so I have my eye on her.
She grabbed a knife out of the box.
"This is a Satsujin. It requires much training to use this, but I think you'll be fine." She handed it to me.
"Whats it...for?" I looked down at the glossy, shiny knife with cravings on handle.
"You'll....see...now please, do your channeling for dear Dollie." Miriam smiled, then walked out of the chamber.
I was all alone. Due to channel someone I didn't even know.
Her name was apparently Dahlia Hawthorne.
This MAY contain spoilers for Dahlias backstory.
Now, most Feys could only channel people they had ties with.
If I could channel her...that means I had to have known her.
Even if it was a small tie.
I dropped the knife, crossed my fingers and put them together, focusing on the channeling.
This channeling was weird, because I usually lose consciousness. But I didn't.
Matter of fact, it wasn't even like tje spirit was trying to take control of me.
I felt the aura. The spirits aura, to be specific.
I opened my eyes and inhaled.
I wasn't the spirit. But there was a spirit infront of me.
"About time you see me." She flicked her hair back with a smile.
She seemed so humane. I felt bad that she died almost immediately.
But there was something about her aura...it screamed "danger!"
"Are you....Dahlia?" I asked, tilting my head.
"Darling, we don't have time for talk." She smiled, bending down to pick something up.
The Satsujin....was that meant for her? Wait, no! When channeling, you aren't allowed to carry weapons ever since that incident with Maya. I'm so stupid! Why would I even take the knife?!
I'm not a true Fey. I disobeyed the law.
"Please put that down." I put a foot back.
"Oh, the Satsujin? Oh, sweetheart, I'm afraid I can't. It's so beautiful. But won't you agree? It will look nice in to skull." She smiled.
Was that a threat?!
I stepped back.
"Put the Satsujin down!" I demanded.
She raised the knife. "Sweet dreams."
No! I can't die! Not so easily..
I rushed to the side, hitting my arm on the wall.
"Damn you!" She growled.
She threw the knife at the wall, letting it hit the fabric of my clothes. So close to my shoulder.
"Perfect. I have you where I want you!" She smirked.
I apologized for my future sin, and escaped, letting the fabric rip and expose my shoulder skin.
She grabbed the knife, and growled. "You pathetic weakling! You can't take a little death?!"
Matter of fact, I can't! And apparently, you couldn't either!
I screamed as loud as I can.
"Ohhoho...you really wanna die?" She growled.
Miles's pov (yup, but it's only for like- a minute)
The channeling has been taking up quite some time.
"How long would a channeling take, Maya?" I turned to Maya, concerned.
"Not this long...something has to be going on." She looked at the the hallway.
That's when we all heard the blood curtling scream.
Maya immediately grew suspicious, and Phoenix was ready to get up and run.
"Who is she channeling?" Franziska asked, taking out her whip.
"I...don't know...they wouldn't let us." Maya responded, still staring at the hallway.
"If we hear it again, we take action. It could just be the spirit." I looked down.
Maya sighed, unsure. "I guess.."
Ayas POV (only for a few)
I was on the ground, about to be murdered.
And no one came to my rescue.
"What are your last words?" Dahlia smiled, about to stab the knife into my chest.
What's the phrase?! What's the phrase?!
Akuma....akruma...aku....I GOT IT!
I inhaled.
"Akumabarai de korosu!" I screeched, hoping someone would hear me.
Miles pov
Someone screamed in a foreign language, and Maya immediately rushed up.
"Come on, guys!" Maya teared up.
We all ran behind her, though it took a while for me because running with one arm was tough.
Maya was running, but she tripped.
Everyone stopped to help her, but she demanded that specifically Phoenix run towards the chamber.
He was unsure about it, but he went along with it.
Pearl Fey followed Phoenix, and we helped Maya get up.
Ayas POV (we're done switching)
"What a stran....wait.." Dahlia noticed what I said.
I grabbed the knife and stabbed Dahlias arm.
She groaned. "You....little.....bitch!"
I kicked her off of me and got up.
Then the chamber doors tried to open.
I took my chance to unlock them with the key.
"No!" Dahlia yelled.
The doors opened, and there stood Phoenix and Pearly.
"P-Pheenie!" Dahlia groaned, suddenly acting all sweet.
Pearl growled. "Were you trying to hurt Mystic Aya?!"
Dahlia ignored Pearl, and managed to get up.
"S-she hurt me, P-Pheenie!" Dahlia acted innocent.
"No she didn't! Why would she scream 'akumabarai de korosu' if she hurt you?!" Pearl got defensive.
Phoenix was shocked.
"S-she wanted to play the victim card! But there's no scratch on her! See?!" Dahlia looked at me, rubbing Phoenix's arm, causing blood to get on his arm.
I pointed at my shoulder and at the wall.
The wall had an indent and my shoulder, of course, had ripped fabric.
She growled. "T-that was her trying to hurt me! Pheenie, please!"
"Is that the Satsujin..?" Pearl looked at the knife I was holding.
I nodded.
"Stab Dahlia. You'll see what happens." Pearl said, being suspiciously scary.
But I went along with it.
"N-no! You can't stab me! Help!" Dahlia screeched.
Miriam bursted through the doors, pushing Phoenix.
I ran to Phoenix, hugging him before Dahlia could.
He returned the hug unexpectedly.
"Aya...are you trying to kill our darling Dollie?" Miriam hugged Dollie.
"She tried killing me! Even Pearl knows!" I growled.
Maya bursted through. "I'm here! And so is everyone else."
Franziska and Miles was there.
Miles eyes contracted.
Dahlia stared at Miles. "You...."
"You...." He replied in a deep, growly voice.
Miles looked at me and Phoenix, and smiled, as if he was happy I was protected.
Maya grabbed the Satsujin. "Out of my way, Miriam!" She demanded.
"You're not killing her!" Miriam growled.
But Maya pushed her, and stabbed Dahlia right in the shoulder.
There was a loud, ear-ringing scream.
But then she disappeared.
"Aya, you need to leave. We need to go back." Maya huffed.
"No." Miriam grabbed a knife. "Our deal isn't finished."
What am I?! A target for murder?!
"If you're killing a human," Miles said. "Kill me."
Miles, no!
Phoenix growled. "No way! Kill me."
Maya smirked. "How about me?"
"Mystic Aya! I'll die for her!" Pearl hopped in front of Miriam.
I see...
Franziska smacked her whip at Miriam.
"Fool! I'm obviously a target!" She yelled.
Miriam growled. "I only want Aya."
"Miriam. I have a feeling that your aura isn't....human." I stepped in front of her, holding Pearls shoulders.
"Maya, Satsujin.." I reached my hand out, letting Maya give me the knife.
"F-fine! Stab me! You'll only be convicted for murder!" Miriam growled.
"Thank you for the sacrifice. Sweet dreams."
The moment the knife stabbed her chest, the same scream played.
And then she as well disappeared.
I huffed. "Quite a day."
"Spirit channeling is...unique.." Phoenix panted, as if he had been doing the dirty work.
"Yeah. Can we go home now?" I said.
Maya nodded, and we all walked out of the chamber.
So, my original plan was for Phoenix to save Aya and that was it. But I guess that didn't go as plan. Oops.
