Rin's P.O.V.
a bit more than a month had passed and the Chunin exams were finally almost finished, deidara and I had yet to find out what Orochimaru was planning, but we did hear a rumor from some genin from the sound village that the sand and sound were planning on attacking, but it didn't seem true.
we hadn't seen or heard anything after that so we decided that it wasn't true and chose to continue to dig around.
we were watching the finals and the fight was Temari against a leaf, shino I believe it was.
I could see Genko and Haru Cheering for Temari in the stands, they looked like fangirls sasuke and itachi had.
smiling as I watched them and looked around at my friends, my parents and the people I would go on missions with.
"whats up with you?" deidara asks
"huh.... oh ummm well you see my brother down there? I miss him so much and im happy to see him" I tell deidarra truthfully
"don't let anyone from the group hear you say that...." deidara warns me
"yea I know..." I tell him
the next fight starts but is soon interrupted by a genjutsu
I glance at deidara and he's already looking at everything that's going on.
"looks like its true" deidara says
"yea, lets get going... we have to watch him" I tell deidara
he nods and we race after Orochimaru and the hokage who are fighting.
I feel a surge of chakra before a large shield of some sort goes over the area where the fight between the two is taking place.
about 10 minutes pass when I feel shikamaru summon me.
"I"ll be back, im going to see if I can find anything" I tell deidara
"you mean see if your brothers ok" deidara says
"yea..." I answer honestly
"well go on" he says waving me away
I race of and leave headin towards shika.
seeing shika in battle i stop and insantly go in attacking the enemy
"ONEE_CHAN" shika shouts once he sees me
they come at me and I start to take them down.
(at this point im rewatching some episodes)
i count 8 enemy nin, each one seemingly fine, shikamaru looked beat up. i hated seeing him like that. i was sure most of it was from his battle before hand but still he looked so tired.
all of them come at me trying to kill me
"i know that cloak... your from Akatsui" one says
"hai i am..." i answer
"then why are you helping the leaf nin" the same guy asks me
"im not helping the leaf, i am only here to protect my brother!" i tell them
"that brats your brother!" someone else says surprised
"hn" i answer glaring
"you must be Rinmaru Nara than" the guy from before says
i nod and glance back at Shika, he looks as if he could pass out at any moment
the eight come at me, 4 each time they attack then right after the other 4.
i sigh bored of blocking the attacks ii finally capture them all in a shadow
"you should've left when you still could" i tell them with no emotion
taking out a kunai from my pouch i aim it at one
"but why..." someone asks not understanding
"lets say im more advanced than my weak clan." i tell them boredly
"come out" the guy that first spoke says
"and chop his head off" he says smirking
i gasp "Shika" turning only to see asuma there throwing a body into a tree
sighing in relieve
"One-chan... Naruto and sasuke they might need you" shika tells me staring at me
i look at the two leaf, shika tense but looking happy to see me, asuma tense and treating me as an enemy
nodding "I'll leave this to you Asuma-kun" i tell them
"don't use that when you speak to me traitor" asuma says
feeling a little hurt i sigh and release the shadow
"goodbye little brother" i say turning to leave
"one-chan wait..." he says
"shikamaru, shes a traitor..." asuma tells him
the enemy attack distracting asuma and shika, giving me the chance to escape and help the other 2.
once i get there i spot Sakura passed out against a tree, Naruto fighting and sasuke injured but watching as Naruto fought
i jump to sakura and break of the sand that has her crushed
sasuke whips around and sees me
"what are doing here" he asks narrowing his eyes
i see his arm bleeding
"come here" i tell him
he stares at me, not trusting me.
i sigh and place sakura down, looking for any serious injuries but seeing none.
sasuke glares at me and watches me carefully making sure i don't harm her.
he comes over and sits beside her still watching me
i get up grab his arm, and pull out a bandage. he tries to pull away but i hold it still and wrap it.
"why'd you do it" he asks quietly
"to test my powers..." i answer
"you're just like him..." sasuke spits out in hate
"hmmm maybe so, its better than seeing ones i love get hurt" i tell him as i finish wrapping
"are you joking, Naruto, Shikamaru, Kakashi-sensei, genko, haru, your parents. and... me we all were hurt..." sasuke tells me sternly ending softly
"i know... but someday you will understand i promise" i tell him
"no i really wont, it be best if you leave and never let me or Naruto see you again. hes been through enough heartache" sasuke tells me
i sigh before sensing something coming at us.
i grab sasuke and sakura and move out of the way, pakkun moving his self
Looking at the battle it looks as if Naruto is losing
placing the fainted sakura and squirming sasuke down i race into battle and block gaara's no the one tails attacks from hitting Naruto.
"ONEE_CHAN" Naruto shouts surprised
"like i said I'd be there if you ever needed me" i tell him as i slice sand in half
he smiles brightly
"cover for me" he tells me
i nod trusting he knew what he was doing
he sits on the ground and i go back to battle cutting down all attacks, stopping them from going past me or towards sasuke, sakura and pakkun.
"alright Onee-chan move out the way" Naruto shouts
i sigh and home he knows what hes doing.
jumping bnack i watch as he shouts "summoning jutsu"
a huge toad appears
i feel proud seeing how strong Naruto has become, being able to summon something so huge.
they battle and i decide Naruto can handle it.
"lets get you 3 out of here, no telling how wrecking this battle will be" i tell sasuke
he hns at me and tries to pivk up sakura but winces from the pain in his arm
"ill take her" i tell him as i try to take her from his arms, he jerks away and glares at me
It hurt... more than it did with asuma he didn't trust me.
"sasuke... im still the same person" i tell him as we slowly jog away
he doesn't answer, only glares ahead.
we come to a stop once we see Temari and Kanuro
"ne... Rin-chan?" temari says once she sees me
"hey little Temari" i answer
"what the hell is going on? kankuro asks
"the one tail and Naruto are fighting..." i tell them
"why aren't you helping!!!" temari asks alarmed
"im sure Naruto can handle it, he's grown" i tell her
"what happened to the weakling" kankuro asks
"she was crushed" sasuke answers
"oh" is all kankuro says not really caring for her
i sigh and sense a familiar chakra heading this way, not just one but 2
"I'll be taking my leave" i tell them
"wait... rin... genko he..." temari tries to tell me
"Temari" we hear Genko shout and appear with Kakashi
i freeze and stare at my ex teammate
he doesn't notice me but Kakashi does, and he nods
'the hokage did give him the letter' i think
genko stops talking once he sees me and his eyes widen before narrowing
i close off all emotion and stare back at him looking as if i don't care but really i was freaking out.
"Rinmaru..." he says watching me
"Hey there Genko" i say
"why are you here, were you apart of the attack?" he asks
i sigh and shake my head no
"i sensed my brothers were in need of my help" i tell him
"you have no right... not with what you've done... they are no longer your brothers" he tells me
"so i guess that what you told me all those years ago was a lie?" i ask
"and what was that?" he asks
"you said you'd have my back always... and i yours" i tell him
"you broke that when you tried to murder the hokage" genko argues
i feel my eyes water but a huge shadow passes over
knowing who it was, i use chakra and jump up landing on Deidara's clay bird
"good timing" i tell him
i watch as Kakashi holds Genko down from coming after me, he waves and gives me a smile which makes me happy that i have one friend i can count on.
"we'll be going back to the leaf to see if we can find anything" deidara tells me
"hai" i answer not really caring
we get back and go undercover.
"we have to retreat well we still can, i heard orochimaru killed the hokage, but he is heavily wounded" someone says from an alley
"yea we should get out, i don't wanna be captured" another says
i nod at deidara and we follow the 2 sound nin as the exit the village
about an hour later they stop and rest most likely tired from fighting and traveling
"orochimaru is going to need a new vessel now" one says
"yea... im just glad its not going to be either of us." the next says
'vessel? what are they talking about' i wonder
"i over heard Kabuto and Orochimaru talking about using the younger Uchiha" the first one speaks
"poor kid" the other says
"we should start going, orochimaru will want whoever survived back in the village"
i nod at deidara who smirks and says "kaboom" as he makes a hand sign causing the two small clay things explode killing the 2 sound nin.
"we have gathered enough, lets head back to base" i tell him
we leave going back to base to report to Konan
