The streets are darker than usual, she thinks, as her eyes scan Diagon Alley. The dark figure continues to head towards the only bright shop in the entire place: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. If the world only knew she is right here... press, family and friends would be demanding answers of her.
Skyler Foster has attended to her mother's funeral, in the beginning of the summer. She attended, but disappeared after, no one has been able to find her since, but no one gave people orders to look for her. Dumbledore understands, Odin understands, her father understands, the Avengers understand. That's all she asked for when she left: understanding.
Skyler hasn't talked to anyone over the summer, though. No one got replies on owls, and no one saw her. Skyler's appearance to her good friends, the Weasley twins, is top secret, and she'll have them swear on their humour that they aren't going to tell anyone.
With her hair dyed a light brown and some lowlights through it, no one would recognise her in there, and she knows that. It's why dying her hair seemed like the best option multiple weeks ago, when the Death Eaters started bugging her. Skyler is on their list too – the price on her head worth tons. She's in the top three people Voldemort wants dead most... together with Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore.
Skyler, though, has undertaken some action... when those idiots found her once, she killed two of them... they were reckless, to think that they were able to kill a demigoddess, who is angered and in full control of her powers. She hunted down many other Death Eaters and universal criminals over the summer, hoping to find peace or acceptance with her mother's death.
Skyler knows that she could crush Voldemort's power within months, but that isn't her destiny, it's Harry Potter's, not hers. Her destiny is to stop her mother's killer from killing her as soon as she is seventeen.
This summer too, she was invited to the Ministry of Magic, to explain why Lucius Malfoy accuses her of using Unforgivable Spells. Skyler knows that the man wants her dead, in a cell, and he would gladly spill every rumour, truth and lie he can remember for it.
Skyler has defended herself powerful, though, and is now known in the Wizarding World as the youngest Auror to ever exist. She is in charge to protect Hogwarts' students and teach them standard combat this coming year, whilst studying there herself too.
The dark figure enters the joke shop, her dark green Hogwarts' cloak blending in with other cloaks of students who are collecting their own dose of jokes to pull on their friends the coming year.
If only these students knew that the security will not allow such jokes this year, Skyler thinks, supressing a little grin, as her blue eyes search for the two familiar red heads that have pulled her through some rough times. Now she is looking for them, to do it again.
"Can we help you, young snake?" a mocking voice speaks up from behind her, and Skyler turns around, her hood covering the upper side of her face.
Fred and George Weasley are standing in front of her, proud and rich, both of them having a look of suspicion on their face. Skyler chuckles, lifting her hands, to take off her hood.
The twins look at her, gobsmacked, before starting to exclaim all kinds of scolding and cussing. They eventually agree with each other's words, finishing their yells with: "Where in the name of Merlin's third leg have you been?!"
"Sheesh," Skyler scoffs, "good to see you guys too."
"Answer our damn question, Sky," Fred grumbles.
"The Order has been looking for you, everywhere," George fills in.
"And if the Order had listened to my family and Dumbledore, you would have known that I wanted to be left alone. And if you had read the paper, you might've found out that I was busy taking down criminals all through the universe!" Skyler hisses at them, silencing the redheads immediately.
"Sorry," they apologise in unison, and Skyler's stern expression fades away, being replaced by a small, loving smile.
"Now, show me around, I want to know if this is a worthy place to take my uncle to, this Christmas," she smirks, going on her tip-toes and embracing both of them in a side-hug.
"Oh, sure as hell Loki will be proud of us, Skyler," Fred smirks, yet Skyler shakes her head.
"Only the God of Mischief can be the judge of that," she says with a grin. Gosh, this year was going to be great, not counting the threat of dead and war...
