Edward watched his brothers display of emotional distress and almost felt sorry for him, almost, because he knew that he done this, with no one to blame but himself. Turning his attention back to the Healer, and the paper in his hand, Edward was confused, he knew that his brothers magic was powerful, but he needed to know if it was strong enough to protect Kyra.
"What exactly does this magic do and how will the tower benefit Kyra?" Edward asked, anxiously waiting to know all the details.
"Michael has spent many sleepless nights working this magic to reach perfection. Once she places her name on this paper, the magic will create a protective shield around Kyra that will last until one moon after the wedding ceremony. Michael has carefully constructed this magic to keep his soulmate alive." The Healer said, watching Edward carefully to make sure that he understands what he was telling him.
"What exactly is written in the prophecies about her fate?" Edward asked, with a sinking heart.
"The prophecies write that Kyra is the chosen one, and the witches want to destroy her before she reaches the age of twenty two, because she will gain her magic powers on that day." The Healer said, and knew what his son's next question would be.
"Every Druidess gets her powers on her twenty second birthday, what makes Kyra so special?" Edward asked.
"Her mother comes from the last line of Druids of her kind. Kyra carries inside her different kind of magic, the blood that runs in her veins is that of a special race of Druids that carry powerful magic so strong that in a blink of an eye, Kyra will be able to destroy her enemy. The witches fear her, and want to eliminate her before she gains her strength." The Healer said. "Kyra does not know who she really is, her parents that raised her are not her biological ones. The truth has been kept from her, but I have studied the Emerald Tablets very carefully, and know that Kyra and Michael's magic together can destroy all evil in this world. That is why the witches want to kill her."
"What about her immortality?" Edward said, with a sense of desperation.
"Well she is immortal like you and I, but the witches have stolen the Magic Druid Sword, and on doomsday, they can eliminate two of us, and you know their number one target will be Kyra." With those words spoken, all three of the men looked at each other with fear in their eyes. They all knew that the magic sword, if pierced through the heart of a Druid, it can kill them, and the swords magic is able to be used twice per one hundred years, which means that Kyra is in a lot of trouble.
"What about the tower?" Edward asked, "how will we get Kyra to stay in there, and how secure is it?"
"The tower will,be sprinkled with powerful magic warding off all evil, and Kyra will not want to be placed there because she will want to be involved with balltling the dark forces on doomsday, but after Michael and Kyra say their vows, he will trick her, and lock her up there for her saftey." The Healer said, "it is the only way Edward, to ensure her saftey."
"Do they want her that bad?" Michael's twin asked, as pain twisted in his gut.
"Edward, any children that Michael and Kyra produce, will have super sonic powers, Kyra's bloodline is the strongest that ever existed in a Druid, and she is the last of their kind. Kyra's life is in imminent danger, her life will always be threatened, and especially any children she may have." The Healer sighed, "do you now realize the pressure Michael is under, to keep her safe? He is tormented with the thought of losing her, and works nonstop to find the safest way to protect her."
Edward swung his head and looked at his brother, never in his life did he believe that Michael was ever capable of loving a woman so much. Could it be possible that Kyra was the one woman to capture his conceited Brothers heart? He thought, secretly wishing that it weren't true so he could claim Kyra for himself.
The Healer watched his two sons carefully, and knew that trouble was brewing between them. He would have to figure out a way to bring peace among them, or Lidia will get very hurt that her sons are at war with each other.
"What if during battle, they somehow get to Kyra and her life is in danger?" Edward asked, still trying to understand exactly how Kyra will be one hundred percent safe.
Michael finally jumped up from his sitting position and marched over to his brother, and pushed him angrily.
"Why don't you worry about keeping our sisters safe on doomsday and leave Kyra welfare to me!" He growled.
"Because you are a fool and don't care for Kyra the way she deserves to be cared for, and I am going to take her from you if you don't start treating her with the respect that she deserves!" Edward roared.
The Healer quickly stepped in between them and said in a firm and unwavering tone of voice, "Stop fighting with each other, you are brothers, not enemies! Edward leave Michael's betrothed alone, you have no right to come between them!"
"Well he don't want her!" Edward yelled, "so I'm going to take her, and make sure she is given the love that she deserves."
Michael let out a war cry, and jumped on his brother and beat him senseless. All the anger that had been pent up inside him was released, as he angrily clobbered his brother.
The Healer whirled around and threw his fist on the wooden table and broke it, and got the attention of his two sons. They both lifted there bodies off the stone floor and looked at him, not certain what he was doing, as they watched him remove his hood, and pull off his black robe.
The wooden door flung open at that second, and Lidia stepped in, closing the door behind her.
"William what is going on here?" She asked, glancing from her disheveled sons, and William, to the broken wooden table.
"Our sons were acting like five year olds, and I stopped them!" He said in a soft tone of voice, and walked up to his soulmate and wrapped his arms around her.
Michael and Edward looked at each other confused. The Healer didn't have scars on his face, as was whispered throughout the palace, Instead he was a carbon copy of them! A handsome chiseled face, with eyes the same color of Michael's, and his muscled body looked strong and powerful, not at all what they expected to be underneath the black robe they have seen him wear forever.
Michael narrowed his eyes and asked in a deep voice, "What did you mean when you said "our sons"?" He asked.
The Healer took an inhalation of breath, and said, "Your mother and I knew each other before you were born, we are soulmate's, but have never said our sacred vows to connect. We fell in love and had a secret love affair, but your grandfather married your mother off to the man who raised you as your father."
"Are you saying that you are our biological father?" Edward asked, "was mother already pregnant with us when she married father?"
Lidia stepped in to finish the story, "Yes Edward, I was pregnant with the both of you, when I married my husband, but he guessed the truth a few days before the wedding, and decided to protect my name and claim the both of you as his. He was a good man, and will never be forgotten." Lidia said, as her tears rolled down her lovely face.
William looked down at Lidia quietly, loving her more than life itself.
"What does this mean now?" Edward asked, "are you going to claim mother as your wife? And what do we tell our brothers and sisters?"
"We tell them nothing yet. There are other more important things to deal with now. One day when things have settled down, after the battle, I will take your mother as my wife, and claim you publicly my children, but until then we ignore this conversation ever took place." William said.
The two brothers looked at each other, each having a million questions they wanted to ask their parents, but decided to wait.
"I do not want to ever see the two of you fight each other ever again! I know you love each other, and I don't understand why you are behaving this way." She told her sons, "Edward, leave Kyra alone, you know that she belongs to Michael! I know you to be a decent man, and not want to touch another mans betrothed, especially your brothers soulmate, stay away from her!"
"I have stayed away from her, but Michael doesn't believe me. There is nothing between her and I, but if he doesn't start treating her with the respect that she deserves, he will lose her, and I will most definitely step in and take his place!" Edward said passionately.
"You will do no such thing! Your mothers right, stay away from her!" William warned.
Lidia's extended her arm out and opened the palm of her hand, and revealed two ruby, gold rings. She had their attention, as they waited for her to explain about the rings.
"These rings belonged to my parents. They are not just any rings, they are magical." She said. "Michael I want to give them to you and to Kyra to wear. The rings are powerful and whoever wears them benefit greatly. You must wear one, and have Kyra wear the other, because during the battle, when you will be fighting the enemy, this ring will keep you connected with Kyra."
Placing the rings in Michael's palm, she turned her attention to William. Have you come up with a plan to save Kyra?" She asked with a hint of worry in her voice.
"Yes we have, come, let's go to your chambers and I'll fill you in. We'll finish this later boys." He told his sons, and escorted his soulmate out the door.
The brothers looked at each other, and they both took an inhalation of breath at the same time, "Did you see the way he touched mother as they walked out of here? Edward asked Michael.
"Yes I did, don't say anything to our siblings, not yet anyway, they might feel ill towards mother. We have to sit down and talk about this with father, and find out all the details, and then we can tell them." Michael said, "do I have your word that you will wait?"
Edward rolled his eyes, and said, "Of course you do, don't worry about me brother, I always keep my word!"
