Once he left the Empress's face darkened exponentially.
'How dare she embarrass me like this!' she had lost all signs of her previous amicable demeanor while glaring viscously at Meng. The emperor had started to treat her well because of this daughter, however now would he ever visit her again!
"Y-you ungrateful child! Go apologize to you father right now!" She stuttered out of rage and disbelief. Everyone was trying to get on the emperor's good side, but this child discarded it like it was nothing. And over some useless abandoned prince at that! Wasn't she too useless?
When she first heard that her daughter had gotten engaged to that country less prince, she had already felt aggravated. However, since the emperor seemed delighted about the engagement, she didn't punish Ru Gu Meng in fact she became equally delighted.

'Did she actually reach level 4!?' That was the only reason the 3rd Princess could come up with to how Meng resisted her aura. Without a second thought the 3rd Princess quickly retreated trying to blend in with the other royals before regaining some confidence.
With the empress here, Ru Gu Meng shouldn't do anything... However, it seemed like luck was not on her side.
"Ru Gu Xiao! Slap your 5th sister for me until she remembers the meaning of family!" The empress demanded through clenched teeth.
