-Y/N's POV-
"HEY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" Narumi furiously marched forward as Aoi began giving instructions to the people behind her,
I watched as a large box was loaded off one of the aircrafts before turning my attention back to the confrontation happening before me,
"What the fuck is that?" I heard Yuu say loudly behind me, no one took notice of him though,
Kureto raised an eyebrow as he looked down at Narumi, "Hm? Did I not tell you to disarm? Follow your orders."
"Huh? You're orders? You mean the orders that have gotten thousands of us killed and for what? Orders my ass- in fact fu-" his friends cut him off and tried to calm him down before he began fully cussing at Kureto, however he'd already said too much and I didn't have to look at Kureto to know he was going to get killed,
I heard a sword being unsheathed and quickly summoned my rifle the same time Shinya did,
Shinya stepped in front of him,
"Move, you can't protect him."
"Why don't you let us go? We've just been in a kill-or-be-killed situation." Shinya defended him,
"And overlook that disobedient and rebellious attitude?"
Shinya's eyes hardened, he seemed to plead him with his eyes before Kureto sighed,
"Oh alright, as this is going to be a glorious victory for humanity I'm in a rather good mood."
I knew it was too early to breath a sigh of relief, Kureto never spares the lives of others no matter his mood,
"Besides, he's going to die soon anyway."
"Shit." Shinya muttered,
"Go, Aoi."
Aoi signalled to the scientists behind her, and suddenly chain like spears came sprouting out in all directions.
My eyes widened in horror as I watched them impale the soldiers around me,
"Mito, what's going on?" I whispered as I saw some heading for Narumi, he managed to block off most of them luckily Shinoa's squad were also there to intercept any which he couldn't manage to get.
"Hey, Y/N. Are you ok? You look horrible." Mito looked at me in concern,
"I'll be fine, maybe it's just shock; don't worry." I dismissed,
She put the back of her palm on my forehead, "Hey you have a temperature, are you sure it's just shock?"
"I'll be fine, Mito." I ran up to help Shinoa who had just now joined the endless list of targets after disobeying Kureto and protecting the others,
"Keep an eye on Y/N, I don't think she's feeling well." I heard Mito tell Shinya,
I rolled my eyes, "I said I was fine," I called behind me,
Yuu was asking a fallen Shinoa if she was fine when I'd reached them, "Alright, lovebirds you need to escape so keep it moving,"
"Oi, Y/N. Cut it out." Shinoa yelled,
"Alright, just please run,"
"She's right Yuu-Chan, let's go." I heard a new voice say, I turned around to find a blonde-haired vampire,
"Hm? You know him, Yuu?" I said remembering his vampire, childhood friend,
"He's my friend." Yuu clarified,
"Alright take him with you," a bunch of chains came hurtling in our direction and I used the body of my gun to block them, the force of the impact caused me to jump back a bit but I was fine.
"Y/N, my dear. Why are you helping them?" Kureto stepped down from the platform and began heading in my direction,
"What you are doing now is evil, stop it right now!" I yelled at him as I backed away,
"If you marry me I will."
"Don't make me laugh, I know marriage won't even make you consider changing your mind."
"Why wouldn't I do it for the woman I love?" He seemed to be mocking me at this point,
"Is love constantly forcing yourself onto people without their consent? I'd be surprised if you saw me as a human with rights."
"Who do you think approved the position you are now? Is that not love?"
"Feel free to demote then." I turned around and irritatedly shot a vampire running towards me, I heard Kureto shouting orders as I walked away,
I looked around trying to find the rest of the squad but no one was in sight- suddenly I began to feel dizzy, I placed my hand on my forehead as I felt a headache coming along.
I had to keep alert, so I fought to keep my eyes open and keep my composure, but I felt myself lose my footing and heard a distant gun shot ring out as I lost my balance,
I caught site of a vampire disintegrate and sighed, grateful I wasn't the one who'd been shot, as I was caught,
"Hey, Y/N! Are you ok?" I heard Shinya ask,
I stood up quickly and blinked a couple of times, I felt as if nothing happened,
"Yeah, I'm ok." I said confused,
"We need to get you out of here," Shinya urged pushing me to run,
"Ugh, I'm fine Shinya. We should be helping the kids escape."
Shinya was about to retort when suddenly everything turned red, the sky, the ground; Shinya and I looked up to see what appeared to be a girl and behind her was a large monster.
"I'm not the only one seeing this am I?" I hesitated,
"No, I see it too." Shinya reassured calmly,
I turned to the left to just see Aoi throw what looked like syringes at the large beast, I stopped myself from snorting at the size difference, as it would be foolish to judge immediately.
The 'syringe-thingies' reacted with the beast and produced large blobs of it's own colour; red and black. They came hurtling at the watching crowd below, causing everyone to jump out the way as they bounced before them.
The situation was quite comical to me, it looked like it came straight from a cartoon so I couldn't help the laugh that forced it's way out my throat.
Shinya looked at me as I quietly sniggered and shook his head in disappointment. I looked him in the eyes as I continued to giggle causing him too look at the ground with his arms crossed as he too fought the urge to go into the laughing fit I was in.
Even when one of the giant blobs came descending upon my head, the laughter never seized as I ran to avoid it- well, that was until it morphed into a monster which resembled the horsemen of the apocalypse,
"It's giving birth!" Shinya's ounce of amusement vanished along with mine as the new threat revealed itself,
"What the hell has Kureto created?" My eyes widened,
Shinya whistled, "It's the new and improved horsemen of the apocalypse,"
I scoffed, "Improved my ass, these are much uglier, at least the horsemen of apocalypse 1.0 had a prettier colour selection; these ones truly came straight from the depths of hell." I jeered as I looked it up and down, observing it's black and maroon form,
"Did satan not design these uglies before sending them off to terrorise us?" Shinya joined in,
"Maybe satan wanted them to resemble him." I glanced at Kureto, Shinya caught this action and grinned,
"Obviously, look at that limited...horrendous, even, colour palette. With how immaculate he tries to present himself this truly is a disappointment. 'Victory for humanity' my foot, we're doomed."
The horsemen of the apocalypse 2.0 which landed besides us, opened what seemed to be it's mouth, revealing sharp teeth and let out a screech,
I pointed my rifle at it as it began making it's way towards us, "Whew, the unfinished copy also has bad breath, I need to know what went wrong, did the system crash?" I aimed still not taking this as seriously as I should,
"At least it's teeth aren't yellow, but God can it screech,"
I shot at it but it side stepped avoiding the demon, "Uh oh, it seems like it's looks don't compare to it's physical skill, we're in trouble."
Shinya raised his gun to also attempt to fire at it and we were forced to move backwards as it neared, "When they say looks are nothing, they're not lying."
Suddenly, the monster exploded into small blobs, we looked up to find Mito, "You two can even banter in this kind of situation? Get serious for Godsake."
"Seriously, the two of you are unbelievable." Goshi chuckled,
"Alright, we've had our fun. Where are the brats?" I got serious immediately, I looked to my right as I searched for them,
"Erm, guys-" Mito began,
"What is i-" Goshi gasped as he found what Mito was shocked by,
"G-Guren's back." Mito stuttered.
