I hear the doorbell ring and jump up off the couch immediately. Flowers rest upon the doorframe and fall to my feet when I open it. I smile and pick up the delicate things. For the past three days, some odd yet kind gentlemen has been leaving flowers on my step, but not putting his name. I wish I knew who it was.
I suck in the sweet scent and turn to close the door, but a hand stops it from shutting all the way. I turn back around quick with surprised eyes. "Hi," he says with a genuine smirk. "Hi?" I reply with a giddy smile. "Welcome to the neighborhood!" He tells me. "Thank you!"
He gestures to the flowers in my hands and says, "I hope I got the right kind!"
I blush and look down to them. "They're perfect! You didn't have to get me flowers to welcome me! I really appreciate it though!"
I watch as his face turns a little red itself. "I know, but I was hoping it would score me points. Would you like to go out sometime?"
