The next day everyone got ready for their matches.
The first match was at 11:30 in the morning. Emily was checking Naib's wounds replacing the bandages wrapped around the stitches.
"you ready? " Kreacher smiled, looked excited as he flips his flashlight
"ready as I'll every be" Naib said stretching his arm
"ready when you are~" Servais hummed as he places his hand on Kreacher's shoulder
"hey! No touching! "Kreacher quarreled
"you two never get along " Naib slightly chuckled
"True" Martha responded as she polishes her flare gun
"this time I won't miss" she added
[Naib's POV]
I smiled, I was determined, if we ever face Jack I will ask him face to face
It was almost time for the match
"good luck! " we heard our fellow survivors as they waved good luck to us
The then entered and was placed around the red church map
All of us were scattered. I was placed on the Rocky ruins. I don't know where the others are but I hope they'll be safe.
I started to decode at the cipher just behind me. The constant sounds it made while I was decoding deafened me I knew my heartbeat raced but the hunter wasn't anywhere near me. My trauma is just taking over. I was still at 50% progress and only the sound of the cipher machine I was decoding was heard. Anywhere else I couldn't hear. My focus and my trauma got the best of me.
My hands were shaking crazy as I typed. My fingers almost slipped through the keys but I manage to get it a bit steady. I didn't want to be a burden to my team mates because I insisted on playing a match while still recovering.
It was awfully quiet.
"Focus on Decoding! " I yelled but no one yelled back
I started to get worried. I got one cipher down and started to find the next cipher. I saw the cipher in the middle of the church and decided to decode it since it's position is dangerous.
Oh well I guess I'm asking danger to come to me. I heard humming. I was 100% sure it was Jack. I ran behind the table in front of the altar and crouched. I saw Jack walking around while humming. His clothes and claws were stained with blood.
Now I'm really worried. I went on the ruins beside the church and started decoding there because Jack was still walking around the church. Perhaps he's using tinnitus to because someone is around there other than me.
I relaxed a bit as I decoded. I was almost half way when I heard footsteps with the sound of humming coming towards my direction.
I quickly dashed glancing behind seeing Jack appeared with a smirk on his face.
Believe me it didn't look very good it was murderous, dark, filled with blood lust
Heavens know I prayed hard for my team mates to be okay.
Jack was still after me. I was going to the direction of the cipher machine near the exit behind the church when I heard Jack teleport to it.
"Going somewhere~?" he coldly stated swinging his claws on my body. I groaned in pain as I hold my injury and propelled on a random direction leaving trails of blood. Glancing at Jack again as he licked my blood on a claw before giving me a deadly smile.
Even though it was almost noon the atmosphere at the red church was almost night time.
Not long after I started limping my way through the other side of the church's ruins.
I try to bare the pain as much. I searched for a syringe on the chests I stumbled on but there was none. I entered the church and crouched beside the window near the altar as my heartbeat raced and saw the red light passed behind me. I glanced to the window to see Jack smiling at me.
'oh no' I mumbled and darted my way to the front of the church with Jack behind me
"hmm hmm hmm hmmm~" he hummed as he slashed at my direction releasing foggy blades that hit me.
Again the cold chill surged through my body as I limp away as far as I can from him
'I'm going to get killed'i laughed in my thoughts as I hid on a pallet near the exit gate in front of the church.
I was incapacitated. I started to get a grip on myself hoping he won't find me yet.
'what happened to you, why are you doing this' my thoughts repeated over and over. My vision started to get steady.
I stood up when I suddenly heard whispers indicating Jack is going to teleport. I forgot there was a cipher just behind me. Out of panic I entered the locker.
'this is bad' I mumbled as Jack teleported on the cipher in front of me
My heartbeat raced as my breaths became heavy. I groaned in pain from my injuries.
Jack turned invisible when I suddenly heard a slash just beside the locker I was in revealing Jack facing me
"look who it is" He said coldly standing in front of the locker
'I'm cornered' I said to myself
"come out of there before I pry it open with my claws, prying you open along with it" his voice filled with venom, it kills me to hear him like that
His eyes weren't the same, his sunset yellow colored eyes were crimson red in color
He chuckled as I slowly went out.
[Authors POV]
Naib didn't have a choice but to get out as he was told to.
Jack stepped back a little as he eyed the mercenary in front of him. The mercenary was filled with injuries and blood which made him smile. It was a delightful sight for the hunter.
Naib gripped his arm as blood flowed from his mouth which made Jack's smile even bigger.
Gathering up his courage he started to speak
"I know you're going to kill me" he said straight as he looks into Jack's murderous eyes
"I'm glad you're surrendering yourself to me" Jack answered coldly with the smile on his face not fading
"I just want to know why you're doing this! And where are my friends! " The mercenary shouted pulling his dagger out
"Oh dear oh dear" Jack chuckled as he tilted his head and looked at the graveyard
"n-no.... " the mercenary somewhat understood but couldn't bring himself to believe that the man he started loving turned into this.
"such a pretty face" Jack said placing a claw on the mercenaries cheek and slowly slicing it wounding Naib's face.
"Jack answer me! What happened to you! You're not the Jack I know! " he then said as he pointed his dagger at Jack
Jack smiled
"you're right I'm not the real Jack, I just want to have the pleasure to kill you as Jack watches helplessly from inside his own body" he chuckled
"Let Jack go! "the mercenary threatened
"and if I don't? " Jack answered
"then... " the mercenary smiled and pointed his dagger on his throat
"you won't be having the pleasure to kill me" Naib continued
[elsewhere]
"NAIB! NO!" Jack yelled as the sounds of the chains tied on him made noises as he tries to struggle
"NAIB! NAIB! " he yelled and struggled but it was futile and the mercenary couldn't hear him
[Back]
Jack smiled
"I dare you do it, I'd like to watch the misery your friends are gonna be in once all of this is over" he stated as he lifts Naib's chin up making him stare at his eyes
There was no hope left, either he was going to get killed by Jack or kill himself.
He didn't want to feel the pain anymore. The pain of someone just discarding him after making use of him.
The pain of someone ignoring him after he had opened up.
It was hard for him to trust anyone with his story. Only Jack could understand him. And now the Jack in front of him couldn't care less about him.
He was going to give him his final wish.
To see him take his own life in front of him.
He smiled as the dagger went closer to his throat as Jack watches while smiling at the sight
'I've been through a lot... I've become a burden, I couldn't save anyone so how can even save myself ' the mercenary thought
He pulled the dagger back before Impaling it towards his throat as he closed his eyes.
It'll be over soon.....
He opened his eyes seeing Jacks hand stopping his hand. The dagger grazed his throat but it wasn't that deep.
He looked at Jack who was standing still while gripping his wrist hardly he let's go of the dagger.
As Naib looked at the dagger he saw water falling from Jacks chin
Before he can even react he was pulled into a tight hug with Jack sobbing on his shoulder
"Naib.....naib....naib..... " he continued to repeat his name
Naib hesitated but soon he slowly returned the hug
"I thought I was going to lose you.... Please forgive me... " Jack said softly while his face didn't leave Naib's shoulder as Naib's clothes started to soak on Jack's tears
"I'm... Glad.. You're back... "Naib breathed as his body collapsed only to be caught by Jack as he carries him bridal style
"please don't leave me again.. Ever" Naib said and smiled as Jack nodded
Their facing closing in on each other as both of them felt each other 's breaths
Slowly slowly their lips came in contact. Naib wrapped his arms around Jack's neck. As the kiss ended.
Naib then suddenly realized about his team
"My team mates! " he shouted
When they heard shuffling behind the tree.
"we're fine... " Martha said gripping her shoulder
"we're a bit sliced here and there... Ugh... But we're good" Kreacher chuckled
"seems you two are okay now? " Servais said brushing the dirt off his clothes
"I can't believe he left us in that state" Martha grunted remembering the Jack before catching all three of them, placing them in the basement of the church leaving them to bleed. Luckily she could recover fast enough to tend to the other two...
"apologies... " Jack said looking at the three with wounds all over
"Would you be so kind and surrender now Mr. Jack" Servais said as the three could barely stand
"I surrender! " Jack shouted as the exit gates opened while Jack places his forehead on Naib's
"Would you be so kind as to go first, I'd like to have a moment with my love one" he smiled as the three understood and exited the map.
Jack carried Naib to the hunters' gate as he walked towards their side of the manor and entered his room placing Naib on the bed.
"I'll treat your wounds, it's the least I can do" Jack said and started treating Naib taking his hoodie jacket off then his torn clothes leaving him with only his pants and boots on.
Jack wiped the blood and tied bandages on Naib's wounds.
"I'm sorry... "Jack said
"it's okay... It wasn't you... " Naib replied
"but it was my fault in the first place, but I just can't bring myself to harm you "
"you have to do it one way or another, I don't want to see THAT Jack again" Naib pertaining to the bloodthirsty Jack
"will you forgive me always then? "
"of course I will"
"will you forgive me when I do this then? " Jack smiled as he pins Naib on the bed and leaned closer kissing Naib deeply
[At the survivors manor]
" thank God we've been spared! " Kreacher chuckled
When bells suddenly rang and Michiko appeared and hugged Helena
"WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! " Everyone at the manor panicked, ran and hid
"M-Ms. Michiko? " Helena spoke softly as she trembles a bit
"Helena I missed you so much" Michiko said as she nuzzles Helena
"Oh apologies I just couldn't hold back anymore " Michiko apologized
"DON'T, DO, THAT! " Everyone warned as Helena smiles knowing the Michiko hugging her was the Michiko she knows.
Everyone sorta had a goodnight sleep after everything that happened.
"where's Naib by the way? " Vera asked Martha
"Let's just say he's having the time of his life? "Martha answered as Vera looked at her confused
The game continued as it normally goes, but some hunters gave their own twists on the game. Let's say sparing a one in their match occasionally.
