Tomorrow was the birthday of my beloved boyfriend and popular utaite Shima.
As I was wondering what to do for his birthday, I decided to pay him a visit and simply ask him.
"Nee, Mashii... Do you have any wishes for your birthday? What do you wanna do?"
"Hmmm~ Let's go ice skating."
"Really? Do you even know how to ice skate?"
"Ehhhh~? Of course I doooo~"
"Okay, then... Let's go ice skating tomorrow!!"

Today was the day.
'I'm so excited!', I thought while waiting for him to arrive at the stadium.
We decided to meet up there, rather than him arriving at my place and ruining my surprise.
Of course I got him a present, what kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn't?
As I was waiting I pondered about his reaction to my present.
'Would he be surprised? Happy? Both? What if he doesn't like it? Hmmm...'
After a couple of minutes he finally decided to show up and thus stopped my train of thoughts.
"Hey Mashii!! Happy birthday to the best boyfriend I could have wished for!!"
I ran up to him and threw myself in his arms, hugging and holding onto him as if my life depended on this.
"Woah woah~! Thanks, princess...", he smiled as he hugged me back.
"Hehe... Do you want your gift now or later~?"
"Hmmm...", he hummed, "I'd say later, 'cus I also have something for you."
"Eeehh~? But it's your birthday!!"
"I know, but what would I be worth without you?"
I blushed hard upon hearing these words.
Everytime I'm around him, I can't help but smile and be happy.
I'm so glad I met him.
"So, wanna go in?"
"Y-Yes, of course!"

"Which shoe size do you need?", the receptionist asked.
"Uh, Shima? I'll go in first, alright?"
"Yeah, sure, I'll be there in a few."
"Yup!"
As I made my way inside, I noticed two male figures looking in my direction for quite a while.
I decided to ignore them at first, but a only a moment later I noticed them approaching me with a slight smirk featured on their face.
"Hey, little lady~ What are you doing here all alone? Got nobody?"
"Uh..."
I was at a loss for words.
I wish I could just run away from them, meet up with Shima again and have an wonderful day spent with my boyfriend.
But I knew that wouldn't be possible.
"Say... Rather than being alone, wouldn't you rather spend your time with us~?"
"Come on~"
Both of them took ahold of my arms and tried to push me into a corner on the other side of the stadium.
"S-Stop it, dammit! SH-SHIMA!!"
"(Y/N)! What are the fuck are you doing to her!? Let her go you jerks!"
"Uh-oh... Boyfriend alert... Better get going bro."
"Yeah, let's better leave fast."
"Yeah, you better fuck off, bastards."
"Sh-Shima..."
"Sshhh, it's okay... Nothing happened... I'm here for you..."
He softly embraced me patted my head in an attempt to calm me.
And it worked - his touch was very soothing.
"Shima, I'm sorry..."
"What for?"
"For ruining the day..."
"Oh, shut up. You didn't ruin anything! Come on, these guys left, so let's enjoy our time here, alright?"
I couldn't help but smile again at his kind words.
"Alright!"

After a few hours of ice skating, falling, laughing, standing up again and continuing this circle, we finally made our way home again.
"Soooo, where do we go now?"
"My place. I told you I have a present for you, right?"
"You didn't have to do that, it's still your birthday..."
"Remember what I told you?"
I blushed as I remembered his words.
'I know, but what would I be worth without you?'
"Come on, let's go."
"Aaaallriiiight..."

"Okay, close your eyes and don't open them until I tell you to do so! Alright?"
"Yes, but shouldn't I be the first one to give you your present? I mean, it's your-"
"Could you please stop that? It's just a birthday, nothing special."
"What are you talking about? It's your birthday! The very day you were born! I have to celebrate that day! I don't even want to imagine my life if you weren't born... I can't live without you anymore, Shima... So you can't just tell me that it's 'nothing special'!"
"Woah, sorry, I didn't know it was this important to you... Alright, my princess. Then you go first."
"Thank you!"
I happily reached for my handbag and pulled out a small box, decorated with purple and (favorite color) hearts.
"It's nothing big, but, uhm... Here!"
I gave him the little box and he opened it ever so cautiously as to not break anything.
"Purple and (favorite color), huh? Cute.", he smirked teasingly.
"Oh, sh-shut up..."
"Oh, are these chocolates? Did you make them yourself?"
"Of course I did! I honestly had no clue what to get you for your birthday, so that's the only thing I came up with..."
"I'm very grateful, thanks.", he smiled as he gave me a little peck on the cheek.
"Now it's my turn, right? So, close your eyes and-"
"Don't open then until I tell you to do so, I get it!"
I let out a small chuckle at his irritated expression.
"Alright, here we go..."
I heard him inhale deeply and something rustling, soon after I felt him taking my hand.
"You can open your eyes now."
His voice was only a soft whisper.
"Okay, so... I thought really hard about this, but I think it's time to tell you, so... Okay - I really love you (Y/N), from the bottom of my heart until somewhere we can't even reach. Since the day I met you, I couldn't take my eyes off you. You're the most beautiful person on earth to me, inside and out. I couldn't possibly imagine someone else by my side for the entirety of my life. So, tell me, (Y/N) - Are you willing to stay by my side forever? Do you want to marry me?"
Midway his long talk, I couldn't hold it back any longer and broke out in tears.
I cried and cried, my tears coming to no end, seemingly infinite.
And then, as he asked me the question I longed to hear for so long, I was done for.
I could have sworn that I was the happiest human being on earth right now.
"Sh-Shima, I- O-Of course I-I- Oh my god... I can't even talk right now, I'm so sorry...!", I cried but all the way laughing.
"I'll take that as a yes.", he smiled and I noticed that he also began to cry a little.
He again took my hand and slipped the ring onto my finger.
"I love you, (Y/N). And I'll never leave your side again, I promise."
"Me too Shima, me too..."
