-Y/N's POV-
I observed the last participant slice the training bot in half and nodded in satisfaction as I made notes on their profile.
"Perfect, everyone passed as expected. You'll all be expected to attend training everyday between 6am to 3pm in preparation for the war."
Everyone groaned,
"Why do I need training, I'm goo-"
"If you don't silence yourself this moment, Yuichiro everyone will have to train from 4am to 7pm."
Yuu instantly closed his mouth as he was elbowed in the ribcage by Shinoa.
"Perfect, apart from that you are all dismissed."
The rookies piled out of the room and I turned around to find Sayuri conversing with the technician. As I approached them he nodded, and turned to walk away tugging the remains of the grey bots along with him.
"I have all the information, Sayuri."
"Ah, thank you, Y/N. Great work for today!"
"Thanks, you too. Are you down for some coffee?"
"Yeah, sure. I think I have some free time."
"Great!"

Sayuri and I sat on a table for 2 in the army's cafeteria.
"So how are you and Guren." She smiled before taking a sip,
"Oh we're good. Erm, Sayuri," I began, "I heard that you liked Guren...is that true?" I asked shyly,
"Yeah, it's true but Shigure and I are really just Master Guren's servants we definitely shouldn't let our feelings dictate our attitude to him or his love interest." She looked down with a sad smile,
"Wait, Shigure likes him too?"
She nodded and looked slightly amused by my shock,
"Sayuri, when you put it like that I feel horrible, oh gosh should I have jumped into it wit-" I began to ramble on,
"Hey, Y/N." Sayuri placed both her hands on mine, "Don't worry about Shigure and I, we're used to it anyway. Besides I think it'll do us some good if we manage to get rid of the feelings." She beamed at me, although I still felt guilty and as if this was an attempt to make me feel better,
She sensed that I was skeptical, "Hey, I'm serious. I'm sure Shigure would agree with me but I'd be damned if I'm the reason something happened between the 2 of you; that'd hurt more than it does having an unrequited crush. So please stop worrying about us."
"I'm sorry Sayuri."
"Don't be silly, Y/N. Just make sure he's happy."
"O-ok." I reluctantly,
"Anyway, do you like your coffee?"
"Yeah, actually it was very much...ah shit." I cussed as I remembered I had training with Shinya in less than 5 minutes,
"Is something wrong, Y/N?"
"I have to go or I'll be late for training with Shinya." I stood up quickly, "Thank you for being so understanding Sayuri, see you later!" I smiled at her before running out of the building."

"Y/N, You are late." Shinya gave me a serious look,
"Well you see, Shinya, you should be happy with the mere fact I'm here not what time I got here." I mocked him,
"That's different. This is your training we're talking about." He rolled his eyes as he clocked I quoted him,
"Oh in that case it really isn't that important, think about it I beat you in my first training session," I began, "If anything I should be training you! So well done for being early Shinya." I smirked at him, he had a very scary smile on his face and had summoned his rifle as I spoke,
"You have 5 seconds."
"Yes..." I chuckled nervously backing away quickly,
Today we were in the training dojo, how it we would train with guns easily here was beyond me, but that didn't seem to stop Shinya; especially now I had wound him up he was definitely ready to beat my ass.
"There's no point in giving me 5 seconds if there's no where to hide, is there?" I stuttered nervously,
"Should've thought about that before you opened your mouth." He began running towards me,
"Ok! I'm sorry!" I said dramatically sliding down the wall and summoning my gun with my eyes squeezed shut,
Shinya sighed, "Get up, we're not even practicing shooting today."
"Huh?" I opened one eye only for my gaze to be met with Shinya's legs, "Hmph." My confidence came flooding back and I stood up with arms crossed and a large smirk plastered on my face,
"Of course you'd never hit me, not someone as adorable as me!"
"Bet." Shinya raised his leg and attempted to kick me but I squealed diving out the way,
"Guren will actually kill you." I pointed at him and got up,
"Bold of you to assume I'm scared of Guren," he smirked at me,
"Oh really? Keep that same energy then." I got into a fighting stance and waited for him to attack, he stayed put so I ran in for the first attack I lifted my fist ready to lay one square on his face, however he just caught my wrist and pinned it against my back, I wasn't too surprised considering his height also would've made it more difficult,
"Oww!" I whined
Shinya sighed, "Oh dear, Y/N that was too easy! We have a lot of work to do."
"Actually, that would've been more successful if you weren't built like the empire state building." I snapped wincing at the hold he had me in,
"Not my fault you're so tiny." He retorted,
"I'll have you know I'm average height."
"I never knew 50cm is considered average." He exaggerated, I could feel him roll his eyes,
"Stop pissing around and let me go." I angrily stomped my foot,
"You currently resemble a toddler who's lego just got eaten by the dog,"
"SHINYA!"
"Geez, alright." He let go of my wrist and crossed his arms while looking at me in slight disbelief, the amused glint in his eye still remained,
"REMATCH!" I got into a fighting stance again and he snorted,
"There is no rematch."
"Shinya, please..." I drawled,
"You're being awfully childish today, are you drunk?"
"I am 100% sober. Now can we please have a rematch!"
"I'm not so sure, I think I should get the breathalyser first." Shinya smirked and teasingly began walking to the exit,
"Fine." I ran to him and he turned around ready to intercept my attack although I was ahead of him,
I ducked below his raised arm and quickly jumped up to roundhouse kick him. He turned around, keeping up well and I stopped my leg just as my foot touched his cheek, his eyes fixated on my foot as a frown was planted on his face.
I cheered, "...and you're through!" I gloated triumphantly,
"If you weren't built like an ant maybe I would've won again." Shinya mocked me,
I stuck my tongue out at him, "Anyways your tall lanky ass lost." I beamed at him,
Shinya sighed, "No fair, I was totally not expecting that."
I cleared my throat and lowered my voice to resemble Guren's, "Are you going to stand in the middle of the battlefield and cry it's not fair?"
"Damn, Guren hits you with that one too?"
Before I could respond the door to the dojo opened, "Damn, Shinya bitching about me to my girlfriend?" Guren entered with Goshi and Mito,
I slightly blushed but nevertheless acted clueless about the previous conversation,
"Y/N started it." He attempted to bait me out,
"I did nothing of the sort, I didn't even utter his name." I innocently approached Guren and he smiled at me in amusement,
"You little snake..."
"Are you just upset that I kicked your ass?" I fake pouted at him,
"Oh snap, Shinya that's embarrassing." Goshi called from behind whatever erotic magazine he was reading,
"We'll start training in 10 minutes." Guren stated, before putting his hand on the small of my back,
"You ok?" He said by my ear,
"Couldn't be better." I smiled, I noticed his hair was messier than usual, "What have you been up to?" I frowned, running my hands through his messy locks in an attempt to fix it,
"Nothing really, I fell asleep." He replied nonchalantly, I observed his face and indeed he did look tired but even in his sleepy demeanour, he managed to make my heart race when his lazy eyes met mine,
"When was the last time you properly slept?"
"3 days ago."
"Guren!" I exasperated, "Why?"
He chuckled, "It's just some project from the Hiragi's but it's done now."
"Cancel training, you need to sleep."
"Nice try, I'll be fine." He smirked at me,
"I'm serious, we're probably going to war soon."
He frowned, "We literally get 0 sleep during the war."
"Exactly, which is why you should get some now."
"3 days is nothing, I've gone more than a week before." He brushed it off,
I fake laughed, "Yeah, not on my watch. Do you want me to tuck you in?"
Guren rolled his eyes,
"I won't leave your room at all to make sure you get the sleep you need."
"Oh please, sweetheart, if anything that won't make me sleep at all."
I looked at him confused and was about to ask him what he meant but then I realised what he was implying and when he saw my face change he laughed out loud.
I turned around flustered and grabbed his wrist to pull him along with me, "Anyway, bedtime!" I tried to drag him out and honestly I don't think I would've been able to if he wasn't being lazy and just allowing me to.
"Training is cancelled, have a nice day!" I called behind me,
Goshi called from behind us, "Don't tell me you're cancelling training just so you two can ha- OW!" I giggled at the loud thud that echoed out and knew Mito had come through to shut him up, Shinya's laughter could be heard as Guren yelled at them to shut up.

"Stop being stubborn and get in bed." I huffed crossing my arms,
"That's hot." He said expressionless, yet he still approached me in a manner that could still be deemed as seductive,
I scoffed and grabbed the arm he held out and pulled him to his bed, "What are you? Two?" I tugged on his arm as he still refused to budge,
He rolled his eyes,
"Why are you giving me such a hard time, Guren?"
"I'm not tired."
"Your eyes are literally shutting."
He opened his eyes wide "No they're not."
"Come on...!" I drawled in annoyance,
"Fine." He finally caved in, but it seemed as if he was still trying to be difficult still, he swooped me up in his arms and I squealed in surprise as he slipped into bed,
His arm was around my shoulders as we lay down, I frowned and looked up at him, "Hey, I'm not the one going to sleep." I complained,
"But you got what you wanted didn't you?" Guren shut his eyes,
"I guess." I turned onto my side and wrapped my arm around his waist,
I observed his relaxed features, "You're like a baby." I blurted out,
"A baby?" His husky voice questioned, "That's a new one."
I hummed and began playing with his hair,
"You like playing with my hair a lot, huh?"
"Yeah. Do you not like it?" I muttered,
"Never said that, did I?" I smiled at his response,
It was not long before he slipped into a comatose state and quiet snores left his mouth. It was only then I let sleep take over me.
