I could literally feel him staring at me. Again. I turned around to look at him, but when I did he looked away and picked at his food, pretending to listen to what his friends are saying, but I didn't miss the way how a pink tint dusted his prominent cheeks, making me blush as well.
I turned around to keep conversing with my friend. I honestly didn't understand why he kept staring at me. It wasn't a first time thing either, for the past weeks all he did was stare at me whenever he thought I wasn't looking. At first I thought I looked weird or something, like there was some leaf in my hair, but everytime I check I'd find that I'm totally okay.
"(Y/N)! Hyunjin is looking at you again is he? Gosh, you're so lucky!" my friend, Paula, gushed and began shaking my shoulders excitedly, "Gosh, he's so cute looking all flustered like that! You should go talk to him! You're so lucky that he pays so much attention to you!"
That was another thing that I didn't understand about Hwang Hyunjin. He was quite possibly one of the most sought after guys in the campus; why would he pay that much attention to me when he could talk to anyone he wanted?
"No way!" I say, looking away from her while blushing profusely.
I was always the shy type, and most of my friends were people who started talking to me first. And just the idea of me talking to him alone practically racks my brain. Besides, even if I was a social butterfly, he is still one of the most popular people in school, and it wasn't normal for someone like me to just come up to him and strike a conversation with him.
"But why?!" Paula exclaimed, exasperated, "He obviously has a crush on you. He wouldn't be staring constantly at you if he didn't! And don't deny that you don't like him back."
It was true, I sort of have a crush on Hyunjin. Not only he was cute, but he was actually sweet to others, and can be pretty playful to those he's close with. I remembered how one time he gave me a sandwhich and a carton of strawberry-flavored milk when I clumsily dropped my lunch. And at that moment, I started to like him.
"I do...I-I just..." I trailed off, making Paula sigh in disappointment. It was obvious that she wants me to get rid of my shyness and just work up the courage to talk to Hyunjin. However, there was no point in trying since I was too shy for my own good.
The bell rang at that moment and school began for the remaining half of the day.

School was finally over, and I was more than happy to know that I could finally go home and watch my favorite drama series.
I rounded the corner and is a few blocks away from home when I remembered that I needed my Math textbook for my homework. Panic instantly rushed through me and I quickly searched through my bag to see if I had brought it with me, but saw to my horror that it wasn't there.
"Oh no. I left it in my locker. I have to go back," I facepalmed and turned back around, starting my way back to school.
I noticed someone speeding toward me, on a skateboard. It was Hyunjin, the same guy who kept staring at me during class, recess and lunch. And when he saw me, he started to stare, not giving a care in the world.
"Watch out!" I yelled, snapping him out of his trance. He lost his balance and fell off the skateboard, rolling on the pavement until his back had hit a wall.
I ran over to him and checked to make sure he was okay. "Are you alright?" I ask, looking at him. My textbook was completely forgotten—all I could think about was Hyunjin and the accident that had happened.
I ignored his blushing face and scrutinized him, gasping afterwards when I saw a huge scrape on his arm.
"I'm alright, (Y/N). It's just a scratch," he said and attempted to get up but I pushed him back down by his shoulders.
"You're not fine. You have a scrape," I firmly said and took out a first-aid kit from my bag. Hyunjin looked at me weirdly, raising an eyebrow at my actions.
I giggled nervously, "I tend to get extremely clumsy, so this is kind of necessary for me. By the way, this might sting a little," I say, surprised at how I easily talked to him, as if we're very close already.
I took out an alcohol, a band-aid, some cotton balls and a wet tissue. I dabbed the tissue around the wound, before sprinkling some alcohol on it. Hyunjin flinched a little but made no sound. I dried the skin around the scratch with the cotton balls before putting the band-aid on his wound, kissing it afterwards.
"There! All better!" I say, smiling.
Hyunjin looked at me with his head tilted to the side, "Did you just kiss my arm?"
I blinked at him for a moment, blushing like mad after realizing what I did.
"It's kind of a habit. Ever since I was young, my mom would kiss my boo-boos away, it got stuck. Sorry," I said.
He stared at me for a moment before a smirk crept upon his face. He pointed at his face, specifically where his lips were located.
"I got injured here as well. Could you kiss it better?"
Before I could respond, he leaned forward and kissed me on the lips. My eyes widened as I squeaked like a mouse in surprise, my heart pounding dangerously fast I thought it was gonna pop out of my chest. I had no clue what to do, so I just kind of sat there doing nothing since it was my first kiss and all. I blushed and attempted to kiss back, but I wasn't too confident that I was actually doing it right.
He wasn't complaining as he broke the kiss and he broke out in a wide smile, so I thought I must've done something right. I looked down, feeling shy, embarrassed, but most of all, happy.
"H-Hyunjin..."
"Hm?"
"What was that about?"
He chuckled heartily, "Isn't it obvious, (Y/N)? It was a kiss."
"N-No...I mean...why?"
"Because I like you," he said bluntly, as if it was the most normal thing to say.
I looked at him with wide eyes, utterly surprised with the fact that Hyunjin—no, the Hwang Hyunjin actually liked me back. Sure Paula has told me countless times that my feelings would be reciprocated but I never really believed her, because I thought he would be much happier with someone else.
I was happy though, no, more than happy—I was elated knowing that he likes me back.
My silence must've bothered him though, because a look of uneasiness and insecurity grew.
"Don't you like me as well? If not...I'm sorry for kissing you...I'll leave now if you want," he said and proceeded to stand up, but I held his wrist and looked at him in a desperate manner.
"N-No! That's not it, Hyunjin! I like you too! I was just...confused...I never thought you would return my feelings!" I say, looking up at him. "Don't leave. Please."
He blinked before grinning mischievously. He helped me stand up and cupped my cheeks afterwards, his warm brown eyes boring into mine.
"So...does that mean you'll be my girlfriend?"
I shivered at the feeling of his warm breath on my lips, and I nodded to his question. His smile widened even more and pulled away from me before holding my hand.
"Great! Now let's go get some snacks before heading to your house." he said and pulled me in convenience store.
"Let's take these," he said and picked up three boxes of chocolate Pocky. I smiled at his choice and bent down to take some packs of gummy bears.
We went to the cashier to pay for our stuff when he spoke up.
"By the way, love, have you heard of the Pocky game?"
