-Y/N's POV-
Guren had called the squad to have a quick meeting, so we were all currently inside a vacant meeting room waiting for Shinya to arrive.
Guren sat at the end of the table with his legs crossed and a frown plastered on his face, Sayuri and Shigure sat on either side of him, backs straight; Sayuri's kind smile opposed Shigure's expressionless face. I sat by Mito who was busy tapping away on her phone, she seemed to be in a completely different world to the rest of us. Goshi was peacefully fast asleep, head upon the desk and for once not trying to flirt with any of the females in the room.
And me? I was busy observing all this, chin in palm, elbow on table and boredom predominant on my face.
The room was silent, minus Goshi's snores, but no one woke him up, nor said anything to stop him.
Suddenly the door swung open and Shinya entered yelling, "HELLO EVERYONE, SORRY I'M LATE!"
I jumped at the sudden bang but everyone was distracted by the even louder bang and yelp of pain that came from Goshi accidentally slamming his forehead against the table, followed by Mito snorting with amusement as she peered over her phone to see what the commotion was about.
"Shinya I swear to God..." Guren trailed off,
"You should be happy with the mere fact I'm here not what time I got here."
"Yeah, shut up and sit down." He dismissed,
Shinya pouted and sat on the opposite end of the table,
"Perfect everyone is here, does anyone have anything to say before we start?" Guren queried,
"I do!" Shinya piped up,
"Great, anyone else?" He said dryly, not letting him speak,
No one else had anything to say.
"Fantastic, since no one has anything to say, I'll ask something." Shinya attempted again,
"I'd rather you didn't." Guren muttered but Shinya ignored him this time,
"Are you and Y/N going out, yet?"
"For fuck sake, Shinya." I rolled my eyes at his attempt to tease us in front of everyone else,
"Yes, next question." Guren answered sounding unfazed by the question,
"Wow, Guren. Can you really not take it anymore that you're just going along with it? Smart." Shinya leaned forward in his seat,
"Yeah, sure."
"Wait, you're actually serious?"
Mito burst out laughing and everyone turned to look at her, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, ignore me." She said sniggering to herself covering her face with her hand,
Guren turned back to Shinya and leaned back in his seat, "Yes."
Goshi cat-whistled from his end of the room as Shinya stayed skeptical,
"I was joking but you're serious?"
My hands moved to my cheeks that were heating up which Shinya caught on, "Oh damn you are serious, Y/N never blushes when I tease her."
I felt Mito's body shake harder as she went deeper into a laughing fit,
"Don't tell anyone especially Kureto," I requested,
"Erm I guess you could say he ready knows?" Shinya visibly cringed as Guren and I gave him a look,
"How?" I asked,
"You 2 are a pair of dumbasses, you must've forgotten when Guren played hero that one time."
I did remember that one time when I got dragged into some alleyway and Guren had to save me.
"Anyways..." I said loudly, edging Guren to begin the meeting,
"Right," Guren got straight to the point, "As you all have probably realised the vampires are aware of what happened to Yuu-"
"You mean Yuu 2.0" Shinya interrupted,
Guren sighed, "Yes, Yuu 2.0." He rolled his eyes, "As I was saying, they're well aware of him and that means the next time they attack they're coming harder than ever."
There were several hums Of agreement from around the room before Guren continued, "That means things will most likely not go as smoothly as we hope. So, Shinya."
Shinya raised an eyebrow at Guren, "Hm?"
"If something happens to me, Shinya will be taking command,"
"Me?" Shinya echoed emotionless,
"Don't be ridiculous, nothing will happen to you." Mito muttered,
"Ok, but you are all to follow this, am I clear?"
"Yes, sir." Everyone chorused,
"Perfect, as of now there are no further orders, most of them will be coming from the Hiragi's anyway. Our next mission will be very spontaneous but I believe in us."
"So what do we do in the meantime?" I asked stretching,
"In the meantime? Just train as usual." He said relaxed, "Oh, speaking of which, Sayuri and Y/N, I'm going to need you to test the newbies and the trainees together, as soon as possible,"
I groaned the same time Sayuri obediently replied with a "Yes, sir."
"I thought I'd never have to step foot in that classroom ever again," I moaned,
"Oh, you won't. It's going to be in the training facility." Guren shrugged,
"You know what I meant!" I rolled my eyes, "Anyway, I'm free tomorrow."
"Me too, have they been notified, sir?"
"Not yet, Shigure, will you be able to let them all know by tonight."
"Yes, sir,"
"Nice. That's all from me. Does anyone want to input or ask anything else?"
"How and when did you and Y/N start dating." Shinya asked and Goshi hummed and nodded his head in approval of the question,
"You're all dismissed." Guren said ignoring them and standing up,
Shinya turned to me and opened his mouth to get an answer but I glared at him and crossed my arms before the words could leave, "Mind your own business."
"Hmph, this isn't the last from me." Shinya stood up dramatically,
"We know." I said cooly, Guren was long gone, not wanting to deal with Shinya.
Shinya exited just as dramatically as he stood up and I rolled my eyes at him,
Everyone else had left the room except Mito and I.
"That meeting was shorter than I'd expected." I commented stretching,
"It must be because the stuff from the last meeting apply now as well." Mito's elbow was on the table and she faced me with her chin in her palm,
"You're right."
"You were worried about telling everyone but it seemed to go easier than you thought, don't you think."
"Well, Shinya provided the opportunity and Guren took it." I sighed, "You're right, it was much easier than I expected it would be; I guess all that's left is to check up on Sayuri at some point."
"Yup, have fun with that."
I shook my head in amusement, "Thanks, I'm gonna go now." I said standing up,
"Then I guess I'm going too." Mito winked, walking with me to the door,
"You have a good day, Mito!" I hugged her tightly when we exited the meeting room,
"You to N/N, love ya!" She hugged back just as tight,
"Love you too." I waved at her as I walked the opposite direction,
I walked down the corridors of the building. What now? I thought to myself.
As I thought of possibly texting Mito to check if she was still free, I was suddenly pulled into a narrower corridor by the waist,
I was about to scream in shock before a familiar voice calmed me down, "Shh, it's me Y/N."
"Oh my God, Guren!" I said closing my eyes and breathing out a heavy breath as my hand flew to my chest,
"Did I scare you?" He cupped my flushed cheeks his eyes held an amused glint,
I gave him a look, "Yes!" I said in a duh tone,
"Aw, I'm sorry, baby~" He pecked my lips that were in a frown causing me to break into a smile,
"Guren, stop. We're at work." I whispered coyly, looking around nervously,
"Are you scared we'll get caught?" He smirked,
"Yeah..." I pouted embarrassed,
"You'll never get caught with me, but I guess if you're worried we can always go to my office," He grabbed my hand tugging me along, with our fingers interlocked,
"Hey, Guren!" I exclaimed, looking around in case someone were to see, luckily Guren's office was just round the corner and we quickly slipped in,
"Is that better?" He said not letting go of my hand as he closed the door,
"Yeah." I smiled,
"Good." He pulled me into a hug and I wrapped my arms around his neck, "I missed you." He muttered in to the crook of my neck,
I giggled, "We saw each other yesterday,"
"It's still too long." he complained,
"I know." I sighed, "I imagine it must be really stressful for you right now, how have you been recently?"
"I've been holding up alright. Are you worried about me?" He pulled away to look at my face,
"Yes, very." I said placing my palms on his cheeks; he raised an eyebrow,
"I'll be fine, Y/N"
"What was up with that order incase something were to happen to you?" I cocked my head to the side,
"Well it's pretty much what I said in the meeting, they know about Yuu 2.0 so they won't be treating that lightly. It's also very likely they know of my position so that also makes me a target."
"Why can't they just focus on taking out Kureto instead, he's way worse and can even be considered as a threat not only to the vampires but also to his own comrades." I ranted,
Guren laughed, "Well you see, I'm an easier target. It's also unlikely they'll be able to find him easily during the war."
"Oh well, in that case. Promise me you'll be ok," I lifted up my pinky,
He looked down at my raised finger and then back at me in amusement, "It's kind of hard of hard to guarantee that, Y/N"
I groaned and looked at my finger and back at him signalling him to do it anyway,
"Jeez, fine." he connected his pinky to mine and I smiled,
"Good, it's a promise!"
"Don't be upset if it gets broken." Guren warned,
"You're not allowed to say stuff like that," I playfully scowled,
He lowered his face closer to mine, smiling, "My apologies," he muttered before covering my lips, I responded to the kiss instantly,
My heart picked up a pace just from being close to him again,
"You know-" Guren broke of the kiss but his lips still remained close to mine, so close they were practically touching, "the same does apply to you,"
I laughed, "Me? I'll be fine. What interests could the vampires possibly have in me?"
"Menu interests..."
I sighed, "I said you can't say stuff like that."
"Did I li-" Guren gave me a look challenging me but I interrupted him before a debate could pursue,
"Shut up." I said in a low voice as I got on my toes to meet his lips again and all he did was hum in surrender, preferring not to argue any longer.

It had been a few minutes of me and Guren either teasing, going back and forth or just chatting in between cuddling and kissing.
As of now we had returned to the kissing part, however Guren slowly pulled back before whispering, "Shinya's coming."
I distanced myself slightly from him, as I began to hear Shinya's footsteps as he approached the door, "You can hear him from that far?" I only managed to hear him when he was just about in front of the door,
Guren answered just as the door opened, "That, and my ass itches when he's near." I scoffed in disbelief and whacked his arm while Shinya just guffawed,
"Stop pissing around." I giggled at his absurd response and he laughed at my exasperated reaction,
"Well then, what exactly were you doing that your ass itching warned you to stop?" Shinya said slyly,
"What exactly brought you to my office? Is the real question," Guren retorted,
"What exactly brought Y/N to your office?"
"She was invited unlike you."
"I'm your best friend, I get a free pass."
"Don't kid yourself."
"Oh yeah, let me change it then. I'm a-"
I interrupted the two's bickering before Shinya could bring up family status, I knew neither of them would get hurt by such but I still felt a need to intervene, "Ok, children that's enough, before feelings get hurt."
"You're the youngest here." Shinya reminded me,
"Oh, I nearly forgot considering how childish you two were getting," I rolled my eyes, "What did you come for, Shinya?"
"Ah~ Guren, Kureto is holding a meeting in 2 days, be there or be square~"
"Will there be any party bags?" Guren's voice dripped with sarcasm and sheer boredom, I on the other hand shot a look at Guren, seriously wondering if he had really taken it upon himself to act childish for the rest of the day,
"Unless documents and insults count, then no. Sorry."
"Guess I'll be square then."
"I forgot to mention that you have no choice and being square is the same as being dead."
I could only remain silent at the banter between the two best friends,
"Anyway, what about that required you to physically come into my office?" Guren questioned still mildly annoyed about being interrupted,
"I just wanted to see my darling Guren's face,"
"Yuck." Guren said, I remained bewildered at the exchange between the two,
"Jealous, Y/N?" Shinya attempted to provoke me,
"I didn't even say anything." I mumbled, too exhausted to give him much of a reaction,
"Anyways, I guess I should leave before Guren begins to develop hives on his ass. I wouldn't want Y/N coming for me when she has to see that."
"Would you give it a rest?" I sighed,
"What are you waiting for then?" Guren gestured to the door,
"What? Are you in a hurry to do something?"
"Yes, I am. Can you leave now?" His arm snaked around my shoulders cheekily and pulled me into him,
I was flustered but still tried to keep my calm, "W-what are you doing?" I asked as his pointer finger and thumb turned my head by the chin to his direction, I managed to catch Shinya's shit-eating grin from the corner of my eye,
"Guren, surely you don't think that will work on me...I don't know I just might stay for a while..." Shinya trailed off crossing his arms,
I saw Guren roll his eyes, "Get out, before I have to throw you out myself, pervert."
"So that wasn't an offer to put on a show for me?" Shinya kept pushing his limits,
"Wait a minute, Y/N." He said quietly to me before standing up and walking towards Shinya.
I laughed as Shinya backed up a bit, "Scary~." He turned and walked the opposite direction,
As the two bickered I couldn't help but wonder about the book, my eyes trailed from the commotion to the bookcase, the book itself had been moved from its old position and as I scanned the rest of the bookshelf to find it was no where to be found.
Of course I thought to myself,
I was torn away from my thoughts by the sound of the door slamming shut,
"Now where were we." Guren said strolling towards me,
I just smiled raising my eyebrows.
