I hate the feeling of waking up in the middle of the night where your sleep gets disrupted by a loud noise—and by loud noise I mean your boyfriend, screaming.
But what I hate more is the feeling of waking up in the middle of dawn where I get disturbed by a loud noise, and a hand slapping my face.
Which, happened to me.
Yay.
I woke up next to a panting Felix, who was sweating bullets with his red hair drenched in sweat. His chest heaved deeply with every breath, as if his supply of oxygen would be cut off any second.
I reached up and held his arm, my thumb drawing circles on his skin, a habit I have adapted to calm him down.
He looked at me and his eyes instantly softened. I reached up and caressed his cheek with my palm, and he purred at the touch.
"I'm fine, go back to sleep." he whispers after a short while, a hint of sleepiness evident in his voice. His one good eye twitched visibly, and I sighed.
I shake my head stubbornly, knowing that something that had happened in the past brought back painful memories that he couldn't forget.
"Nightmare?" I ask softly, now sitting up with my legs tucked to my chest.
"...yeah..."
I inched closer to him and snuggled to his side, putting my head on top of his shoulder. "Want to talk about it?"
"Not really."
I sighed and removed my head from his shoulder, looking at him in the eye. Reaching up, I ran a hand through his hair and gently placed his head on my chest, hugging him.
Felix instantly hugged me back, humming a random tune as his arms snake around my waist.
"You're not going to feel better unless you talk it out with someone." I insisted, and I heard his helpless sigh as a response. Knowing my boyfriend, I know that he knows I won't let go of the issue quickly without knowing the whole reason behind it.
"I...had a dream about our last mission...where we warred with the rival gang...and...Changbin hyung...noona..." he trailed off, his eyes slowly being filled with tears.
I quickly shushed him, kissed his forehead and rock the both of us back and forth in attempt to calm him down.
The last mission SK had done was devastating. Although I wasn't a part of the group, Felix had told me that he lost his favorite hyung and his older sister during the battle. Although they won the war, they lost many lives, including the lives of the people he love the most.
"People come and go, Felix...and maybe...their mission in this world is already done and the divine one above us needs them with him." I explain softly. He shook his head.
He opened his mouth to speak but I cupped his cheeks and gently made him look up at me.
"Felix, I'm still here. I love you, you know that right?"
A nod was what I received as a response.
I smiled and kissed him passionately.
"I know you love me too. So don't leave me, okay?"
"Never." he said, hugging me again.
I chuckled heartily and brought the both of us back down on the bed, once again, falling asleep peacefully.
