Destiny's POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~£~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were only two things on my mind this morning, my study session with Garrett tonight, and Liam. I couldn't sleep that well last night, wondering what would've happened if I would've stayed and not left when we were talking. I knew that I should've stayed, but I was so confused and overwhelmed at the time. Plus, even if I did stay, an apology wouldn't have been enough. Not for what he's done at least.
As I walked into my second period class, I sighed lightly. I saw Garrett as soon as I walked in, which reminded me about our study session after school. I took a deep breath, before making my way through the desks, and over to the seat. After I set my books and bag down, I sat in the seat. As soon as I did, Garrett turned around in his seat, giving me a smile. I gave him a small smile back. "Hey Garrett." I said, looking down at my books. "You didn't forget about tonight, did you?" He asked. I shook my head. "Nope." I replied.
As easy as it would be to make up an excuse as to why I couldn't go, I decided to go instead. As much as I didn't want to, I knew I had to. I didn't feel like losing anymore friends. "Great. Meet me out front after school." He said, turning around in his seat. I sighed again, and looked down at the desk. I couldn't believe that once things seemed to be going perfect, everything crashed down.
Fourth Period had just ended, and I was walking down the hall on my way to fifth. Today had been different with Liam. When we caught glances, he didn't glare. Instead, he just looked away. I could tell that I had hurt him, and I felt awful about it. Although, I had to do what I had to do. I didn't want to relive what happened in middle school after all.
As I was walking down the hall, I was stopped by my name being called. I turned around, and saw Scott walking toward me. I stood by the wall, waited for him to catch up to me. "Hey." He said once he got to me, a little out of breath from walking quickly to reach me. "Hey." I replied, looking up at him. "Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked, in a serious tone. His tone worried me a little, and I quickly nodded. "Yeah. Sure. Of course." I said. Scott nodded, and got a little closer so that he could whisper what he was saying. "Liam's really torn up about this Destiny." Scott started. I sighed, and he continued. "He really is upset. He feels awful about this whole thing. And yesterday, I finally got him to realize that him getting bitten, wasn't your fault." He said.
My expression changed to one of shock as he said this. "Are you serious?" I asked, not believing it. The whole reason for the fight was because of the bite. Him knowing that it wasn't my fault made a huge difference. Scott gave me a nod, smiling. "Yep." He replied. "Well, what am I supposed to do though?" I asked. I didn't know if I should go up to Liam, or wait for him to come up to me. I didn't want to end up starting another argument after all. "I'll talk to him about it. The next time he comes up to you, please just listen to what he has to say." Scott told me. I nodded, before he spoke again. "Okay. I'll let you get to class now." I nodded, and gave him a small smile. "Thanks Scott. I really appreciate you helping us out." I said. "No problem." He said, giving me one back. After he said that, I quickly walked away to make it to my next class on time. For the first time in a few days, things finally seemed like they were coming up.
It was the end of the day, and Liam and I hadn't even spoken yet. I was getting a little worried, and wondered if this argument was ever going to end. Although, even after what Scott had said, it would still take awhile for me to be able to fully forgive him. The things he said hurt, and I was tired of being walked all over.
The hall was pretty much empty, except for a few students at a section of lockers down the hall. I grabbed my last book from my locker, and put it in my backpack that was resting on my knee. "Destiny." A voice said, in a quiet, soft tone. I quickly looked over, and saw Liam. "Liam." I replied, just as I had yesterday, zipping my bag up as I spoke. I shut my locker, and put my bag over my shoulder. I then turned to look at him. He looked nervous, almost as if we had never spoken before. Finally, after a few seconds, he spoke.
"Destiny, I'm so sorry for what I said and did. There is no excuse for me to do what I did, as well as say all the hateful things I have said to you. It was stupid of me to blame you for the bite. Without you there, things might of been worse. You were the one who helped to calm me down after I got bit. You helped me to calm down during the full moon as well. Without you, I might actually be dead right now. And I'm sorry that this apology sucks, I'm just so nervous right now. I didn't mean to ruin the friendship we had. So, Destiny, if there is any way that you can, will you please forgive me?"
As I stared up at him, I could feel pain. The pleading look in his eyes killed me. I could tell that this whole fight hurt him just as much as it hurt me. I couldn't just forgive him easily though. Not after what he had done. I could forgive him a little, but not fully. "Well, I can't fully forgive you yet. I need some time. But, I can start giving you forgiveness now. I'm sorry too." I said, bitting my lip after I spoke. The corners of Liam's mouth folded into a smile after I spoke, which relaxed me a little, made me smile as well. "Thank you Destiny." He said. I nodded, before replying. "Thank you Liam."
Just as Liam was about to speak, my name was called again. This time, by someone different. Both our heads turned to look at Garrett, who was walking right towards us. Once he reached us, he looked at me. "I've been looking everywhere for you." Garrett said, before turning to Liam. "Liam." Garrett said, nodding to him. "Garrett." Liam replied, a little harshly. Garrett turned back to me before speaking again. "Ready for our study session?" Garrett asked. I gave him a nod. "Yep!" I replied, smiling a little. I looked over at Liam again. A look of both anger and pain was on his face. "I'll see you tomorrow Liam." I said, before walking off with Garrett. I wished that instead of going with Garrett, I could stay and talk with Liam instead.
"Okay, moving onto the Judicial Branch." I said, flipping through my notes. I had been at the library with Garrett for about thirty minutes now, and it had actually been going smoothly. Garrett was acting like he was when I first met him, funny and sweet. I missed this side of him more then anything, and I was glad to see it again. "So, what's going on with you and Liam?" Garrett asked suddenly, causing me to look up at him. "Nothing. Why?" I asked. Garrett shrugged. "Well, I remember you saying that you were fighting, and now you seem fine." He said. I nodded, before turning my head back down to look at my notes. "Yeah. We apologized." I said.
Garrett went silent after I spoke, which caused me to turn my attention back to him. "Garrett?" I asked quietly, but loud enough for him to hear. He looked up at me with an expression of hurt. "What's wrong?" I asked, looking over at him. Garrett shrugged. "Its stupid." He said quietly. I shook my head. "I'm sure its not." Garret looked over at me again, and took a deep breath before speaking.
"Its just that, I know that I haven't been the best friend for the past few weeks. I know that since Violet and I have started talking, and now dating, that I've ignored you. I feel really awful about it. What I did on Friday at the party was uncalled for, and I appreciate that you didn't tell Violet. Then, when you and Liam started talking, I got a little upset because I thought that I was sort of being replaced. I don't want us to lose the friendship we have." He looked back down at the table after he finished speaking.
I felt a little bad, like half of this was my fault. I should've tried to talk to him as well. I shouldn't of left it all up to him. I reached across the table, gently grabbing his hand. As soon as I did, he looked up at me. I gave him a small smile. "Garrett, its okay. I could never replace you. I'm sorry too. And, I'm not replacing you. We're still just as close as we were when we first met." After I spoke, Garrett smiled. "That's a relief." He said, laughing a little, which caused me to laugh as well. I let go of his hand, and looked down at my notebook. "So, the Judicial Branch."
Dear Diary,
Today went very well. Liam and I have sort of made up. He apologized, but I haven't completely forgiven him yet. Its going to take awhile for me to completely forgive him, but at least we're on speaking terms. The study session actually went well. Garrett was his sweet, normal self, and he said that he still wanted to be friends. So, I now have all my friends back. For the first time in days, I feel completely and utterly happy.
~Destiny
As I finished, and set my notebook back, I couldn't help but smile. I could finally sleep knowing that everything was okay. I felt perfect. I turned of the light, and laid down. As I feel asleep, the smile on my lips remained.
