A/N- I went to see Mamma Mia: Here we go again today, and I've only gone and reintroduced a bunch of Abba back into my life. This imagine was written as I listen to the entirety of the Abba Greatest Hits, Gold Anniversary Edition, album. I hope you all enjoy it.
You had always prided yourself on your level-headedness. Your ability to avoid letting the little thinks bother you, and to put all of your issues to the back of your mind. Your aunt had always told you that it was why you were unmarried, you were too logical, too masculine in the way you thought, though you had often told her that you had met more hysterical men than women. But you were not one to be caught up in whirlwind romances, and you had never planned to become someone who would be so easily swayed.
In all honestly, you weren't sure that Sandor had expected it of you. He had assumed you would remain your own, self-confident and independent, person. For a long time you had both kept your love lives separated from the rest of your life, avoiding ever having to be too committed, too involved, but you had been the first to change their mind on the matter.
You had been sitting between your father and your uncle Jaime, watching as the Starks put on their heirs and graces for your aunt and her husband, when you had first noticed your jealousy bubbling on the surface. The benefits of being Queen were not lost on you, but it always seemed so tedious as Cersei had to accept compliment after compliment from people she had no interest in spending time with.
"When can I retire to my chambers?" you asked your father quietly, your lips barely moving as you spoke and your eyes never faltering from their gaze towards the royal family. You felt your father shift slightly, he had been wondering the same thing since the feast started, and had only stuck around this long to avoid abandoning you in the middle of a group you were unfamiliar with.
"Soon," he answered you softly, glancing across you to Jaime, "how much longer does our sister intend on staying?" he asked, watching as he shrugged in response.
He let out a deep sigh, "for as long as the King wants to, so probably until the wine and food runs out."
"And some time after," you grumbled, finally shifting your gaze to your father, "can I please be excused?"
"Just a while longer," he told you and you released a light groan as you continued to glance around the room, your eyes landing quickly on Sandor, who raised an eyebrow at you when he felt your gaze.
Once you were sure that no one else was looking you poked your tongue out at him, scrunching your face up and causing him to stifle a laugh. It brought a smile to your lips, thinking about how sweet he could be with you, though he often came across as rather standoffish to others.
The smile quickly faded when you saw a woman approaching him, probably some girl from the kitchens, and she was quick to rest her hand on his arm, drawing his attention down to her and away from where you were now sitting, frowning. You felt your father's eyes on you again and he let out a deep sigh, "If you are truly that bored then you can go to bed," he muttered, and you turned to him in surprise.
"No, I'm fine," you answered him softly, glancing back to where the man you loved was being flirted with on the other side of the room. Your father seemed confused but dropped the topic without question, unwilling to cause an argument so far away from home.
You watched in horror as she continued to hold his attention, pausing for a moment before gesturing for him to follow her outside. You felt your stomach turn as he did as she had asked, walking for the exist close behind her. You felt a sob break from your chest, causing the men either side of you to turn their attention back to you as your hand flew up to cover your mouth, tears prickling at your eyes. "What on earth is the matter?" your father asked, surprise laced throughout his voice as he rested his hand over yours.
"It's nothing," you started, watching as Jaime leant in closer.
"In the twenty years since you were born I have never seen you cry," he started softly, "what's wrong?"
You shook your head as they both watched you expectantly, but you couldn't bring yourself to say anything with so many people around you. "I just want to go home," you yelped, quietly enough that no one else would hear you.
"It's only for a few more weeks," Jaime started watching as your shoulders began to shake as more sobs fought their way free. He was on his feet moments later, your father copying him as they pulled you to your feet and led you out of the Great Hall and towards your chambers.
Once the sound of the music and the roar of the crowd had died away you all came to a stop, pausing in the middle of the hallway and remaining silent.
"Are you going to explain yourself?" your father started, causing Jaime to glare at him slightly as you sniffled.
"Will you please tell us, honestly, why you are crying?" he asked, his voice much softer as he allowed his arm to wrap around your shoulders.
You paused for a moment, glancing between the two men. They were sure to be mad with you, but they wouldn't leave you alone until they had an honest answer, and you were never good at lying. "I've been seeing someone, and I think I'm in love with him," you answered quietly and your father let out a chuckle.
"Then why are you crying?" he started, stopping only when you shook your head.
"I think he's cheating on me," you added and both men fell completely silent.
"Who?" Jaime asked you, his voice dangerously low as he glanced down at the ground, unable to look at the hurt in your eyes.
"You have to promise me that you will not say anything," you started, only for him to interrupt you.
"Just tell me who it is, Y/N," he muttered quietly, pulling his arm away from around your shoulders.
"Sandor," you answered him, his name barely leaving your lips and causing both men to release deep sighs. "I didn't intend to care for him, but he was so kind to me," you started again, causing your father to scoff.
"Of all the men in King's Landing, you chose the Hound?" he murmured, causing you to sniffle again.
"He doesn't like being called that," you told him.
You jumped when he next spoke, his voice deep and booming. "Why do you give a shit what he likes?" he growled, causing you to take a step back.
"Tyrion, you need to calm down," Jaime started, only for your father to release another outburst.
"And I assume you let him bed you," he cried out, causing you to jump once more.
Your eyes filled once more, "I'm sorry," you whimpered, feeling Jaime pull you into a hug as you began to sob loudly.
"It's okay," he muttered softly in your ear, but you could still hear your father pacing back and forth, contemplating the new information he had gained.
"I thought he loved me," you cried quietly against him, your words muffled by his tunic. "I thought that eventually we would be married," you added, and you felt Jaime's arms tighten a little before he released you from his grip.
"Go to bed," your father growled, "We'll talk in the morning," he added, his voice softening as he watched you wrap yourself up in your own arms, your eyes and cheeks wet and red from crying.
You nodded, but paused for a moment, "Don't hurt him," you told them quietly, "I can't bare the idea of him in pain," you added, continuing to watch as they both nodded their agreement. "Thank you."
*Time Skip*
You had only been in bed for a short time when a knock arrived on your door, and you slowly dragged your body from your bed to pull it open, revealing Sandor to you. "What are you doing here?" you asked him quietly, looking up at him and watching as his smile fell from his lips.
"Have you been crying?" he spoke softly, pushing you lightly so that he could shut the door behind him.
"I asked first," you answered him, taking a deep breath and feeling it catch as you held back a fresh wash of tears.
"I just wanted to see you," he told you, reaching forward to take your hand in his, only for you to pull away from him. "What is the matter, Angel?"
You took a deep breath, the air hissing as it passed your teeth. "I saw you leave with her," you started, "if you were going to sleep with other women you could have at least tried to hide it from me."
His face was contorted in confusion as you took a few steps away from him, sitting at the foot of your bed and watching him. "I didn't sleep with anyone, I haven't since I started spending time with you."
"You're a liar," you yelped, your breath shaky as you attempted to force back more tears.
He took a few steps towards you, kneeling in front of you, "I promise you, I have only ever had eyes for you."
"Then who was that woman?" He still looked confused, and your face softened slightly. "Who was the woman who made you leave the feast?"
Realisation suddenly came to his eyes and his face softened to match yours. "She was one of the kitchen girls, one of the serving boys got drunk and none of them could lift him, they needed my help."
"Fuck," you muttered softly, a short burst of laughter escaping your lips.
"It doesn't matter, as long as you know that I would never hurt you like that," he started and you shook your head.
"I told my Father about us," you told him, pausing for a moment, "and my uncle Jaime."
"Gods woman, You don't half act quickly," he muttered, causing you to laugh again.
"I was upset, and they kept asking questions, I didn't know what else to say."
"It's fine, Darling," he told you quietly, leaning closer and taking your face in his hands to pull you in for a light kiss, "they were bound to find out soon enough, at least this way I don't have to be the one to tell them."
"They think you're cheating on me," you told him quietly, unable to force the relieved smile from your face, "they're going to hate you."
He let out a deep sigh, "We'll fix it." He pressed his lips to your forehead lightly, before pulling away and gazing into your eyes. "And then i'm going to marry you so we don't have to keep sneaking around."
