Meeting Blake

She sat in front of her laptop biting her nail, staring at the screen in front of her.

"Do you want to know or not?" Justine stood behind her, leaning in to look at the screen.

"I don't know, I'm scared. What if they were from Arkansas and are brother and sister, or some twisted crazy mess?" Blake asked.

Justine laughed behind her. "Seriously? They were probably high school sweethearts. Maybe they're married now and you have siblings." She said.

Blake clicked the buy now button and sighed. "I sure hope the hills don't have eyes, Justine. Did you see that movie?"

Justine just laughed. "Yeah, like a 5 ft. 8 in. drop dead gorgeous bombshell, and you come from incest!  Quit being silly."

Blake Russo was adopted just months after her birth, along with her adopted sister Justine only a year later.

"Okay, your turn." Blake stood up and coaxed Justine into the seat. Justine starts typing her information into the Ancestry account and sighs. "Yours is probably some huge love affair, and your parents are still young and lively. Mine was probably a crack whore and a John." She complained.

Blake smacks her shoulder. "Come on! What did you just say about mine? Cut it out!"

"What? You're a Harvard graduate, ex-model, and you finished your residency at Johns Hopkins. I'm a freaking sales clerk at Macey's." Justice said.

Blake shakes her head. "Shut up! You're the store manager with a degree in fashion. Be serious now."

Justine hits the buy now button and it's done.

Both girls grew up curious about their biological parents. The adoption occurred in New York, so they were unable to access the files. This DNA test through a genealogy site could give them the answers they need, but then again, it could show them almost nothing. They hesitated about doing this while their adoptive parents were living.  They both had fears it would have hurt the feelings of their wonderful parents.

Joan and Michael Russo were older parents. Both over fifty when they adopted their children. The couple had been too focused on their careers, that marrying late made the possibility of havng their own biological children difficult. Joan had a hysterectomy following a tubal pregnancy, and they found the other ovary also damaged causing her a great deal of pain.

The girls upbringing was great. They thrived under the care of their parents, and they were loved tremendously.

Blake is a tall brunette, newly divorced pediatrician, and recently moved back into her childhood home with her sister.

Justine, a single and free-spirited girl, who is also successful. She runs the local Macy's store as the manager, and also earns a handsome salary. Justine and Blake look nothing alike. Justine has long blonde hair and big blue eyes that compliment her shorter stature of only 5 feet 1 inch and 7 centimeters. She's very sensitive about those extra centimeters.

Luckily for both, they were able to graduate college without the extra pressure of hefty student loans. Amazing in Blake's case, since medical school is outrageous. Between scholarships and their parents hard earned money, they're able to live debt free.

For the first time in a very long time, Blake had some free time on her hands. She recently joined an established practice providing her with weekends off most of the time. Regular work hours are a blessing to the newly divorced doctor. Her marriage crumbled to ruins during her training, and her husband, who felt neglected and lonely, ran off with a younger model of course. Much younger and available to meet his needs better than his wife.

It's been months since the divorce and Blake is okay. She really is just okay. The sting is still there, but she knows the end of her marriage was her fault too. Yeah he cheated, but he also went months without holding his wife. Blake was too busy to notice and is now unable to hate the man, she loved him actually, but just like her parents, her career came first. She paid the price just like many of the doctors she worked with on a daily basis.

Justine had to work later hours tonight, so Blake curled up on the couch and had a glass of wine, sighing at the fact that she was very bored. Her life went from constantly working, to nights and weekends off. She wasn't sure what to do with herself. Little did she know, her life would be turned upside down and all the way around in so many different ways, that she may never recover.

Her story will take her to places she never dreamed.  To castles and titles she didn't earn.  Her life will hang on the line, and the only answer puts her at the mercy of an arrogant common man.  Only, he isn't really common, and he's her only hope.

Welcome to Blakes Twisted Fate!
