Yule Ball

It was a snowy day, Percy was getting ready to attend the Yule Ball on Barty Crouch's behalf. Grace was allowed to go as well, of course.

"Alright... and tell Fred and George that if they behave at the ball, they'll get something other than scarves for Christmas," Mrs Weasley said.

"Yes, mother," Percy said.

"Grace... you look absolutely magnificent..." Mrs Weasley smiled.

Grace smiled, "Thank you! Percy... my necklace."

Percy grabbed Grace's new necklace, quickly putting it on. Grace's dress was a blue silk, off the shoulder gown. It wasn't too poofy but it looked beautiful on her.

"Thank you," she kissed his cheek.

"That necklace's pretty," Charlie said, pointing at Grace as he walked into the kitchen.

"Well, no one cares," Percy said.

"Percy, you picked out the necklace..." Grace said.

"Oh um... well... Th... thank," Percy started coughing, dramatically. "Thank y..." Grace elbowed Percy's side. "Thank you..."

"Um... you're welcome?" Charlie laughed, grabbing some leftovers.

"Percy... look at the castle!" Grace started jumping around. "It's so beautiful!"

"Grace," Percy laughed.

Grace and Percy turned a corner and Fred and George were laughing at the other end of the corridor.

"GRACE!" They both saw her at the same time. They were pushing each other as they ran down the hall. They ran to her and picked her up together.

Percy stood, arms crossed, eye brows furrowed. Fred and George both wrapped their arms around Grace and began walking down the hallway, telling her about their latest pranks and updating her about the Quidditch season.

Grace laughed, "Where's Harry?"

"Oh, he's with Ron... Percy! Percy!" Fred laughed, really hard.

"Did you see the robes mum sent?" George laughed.

"No, what, what is it?" Percy asked.

Suddenly Ron and Harry walked down the stairs. Ron was frowning. Percy started laughing really hard. He leaned on Fred and the three of them were bursting with laughter.

"Is that Great-Aunt Tessie's?" Percy laughed.

Ron clenched his fists, "Yes."

Percy started laughing even harder, "You look like a WOMAN!"

"Shut up, Percy," Ron said, walking away.

Harry began to laugh as soon as Ron was out of view. He saw Grace and smiled.

"Harry..." Grace smiled, she hugged him quickly.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"I'm fine..." Grace smiled. "We're doing fine... So who did you ask to the ball?"

"Oh... um..." Harry started.

"Look who I found," an Indian girl, was dragging Ron by the arm. Another one grabbed Harry's arm.

"Who are you?" She asked, a bit disgusted.

"Grace..." Grace smiled.

"Oh," she said annoyed.

Professor McGonagall walked by.

"Good, you two are here," she said to Percy and Grace. "Oh and you two as well... Mr Weasley and Miss Potter will enter. Followed by the champions."

"Oh... Where's Hermione?" Grace asked.

Hermione walked down the stairs, she was wearing a stunning purple dress.

"Hermione," Grace smiled. She walked to Hermione and greeted her with a hug.

"You look so amazing!" Hermione said.

"You do as well," Grace said. "Who are you going with?"

"Um..." Hermione started. She gestured to a guy near her.

He put his arm out, she smiled at Grace and walked to him.

"Grace..." Percy hissed. He was waiting to enter into the ballroom. Grace darted over to him, grabbing his arm.

"... and welcoming our Yule Ball, Mr Crouch's personal assistant, Percy Weasley..."

"Loser," Fred Weasley coughed. Percy glared daggers at Fred.

"...And his fiancé, Grace Potter. Both graduates of last year," Dumbledore said.

Grace and Percy walked along the center. Percy with a very serious expression, and Grace trying to contain her smiles.

"She's so beautiful."

"He's so hot."

"That's Harry Potter's sister."

"That's Fred and George's brother."

"Wow we're like famous," Grace smiled, whispering to Percy.

"Shhh," Percy shushed.

All of the couples began to dance. Fred, George, Ron and Percy found Ginny and cornered Neville.

"That's our baby sister, you know that?" Fred asked.

"If you try anything..." George said.

"You are gone," Ron said.

"Do you understand, Neville?" Percy asked.

"Hey, you all have red hair!" He responded, walking to dance with Ginny.

"I don't think we have anything to worry about..." Ron said.

They all nodded.

"Would you care to dance?" Cedric Diggory asked.

Grace nodded, taking his hand, "Oh, you're Cedric!"

He nodded, "... and you're Grace."

She smiled, they began to dance. Percy stood, crossing his arms, next to Ron.

"If you hate it so much, why don't you step in?" Ron asked.

"Maybe I will!" Percy said, walking onto the dance floor.

"Hi Percy," Grace laughed.

"Do you mind if I-" Percy started.

"When the song's over," Cedric smiled.

Percy frowned, "Sure."

When Percy returned, Harry's date was gone. He only wanted to go to the ball with Cho. Ron's date got up and left as soon as Percy returned.

"Would you care to dance P-" Ron started.

"Nope," Percy sat down.

Grace walked over, pulling Percy up and going to the dance floor. Cedric sat down and looked around for Cho.

"Hey, Harry," Cedric said. "Tell me about your sister."

"Um... she's short... and she's engaged, she makes good soup," Harry listed.

"Wait, wait, back up, she's engaged? To him?" Cedric laughed.

"What's wrong with him?" Ron asked.

"He doesn't seem like her... she's fun, he's... boring, I bet you both 3 galleons that they break up by the end of the Summer," Cedric said. "I remember he once deducted 5 points from Hufflepuff because I was running in the halls."

Ron rolled his eyes, "He was just trying to be a good prefect."

"He was trying to be a snitch," Cedric said. "Harry... she's bloody hot."

Harry furrowed his eyebrows, "You're really going to say that? After you've asked Cho to the ball?"

"Cho is great. But, Grace, she's... special," Cedric smiled, a bit lovestruck. "I'm going to ask her to dance, again."

He got up and started walking towards Grace, Ron and Harry both got up, eyes widened.

"Mind if I cut in?" Dumbledore asked.

"I don't mind, professor," Percy said.

Cedric stepped back, he ran into Cho who smiled at him.

"Oh that's Cho?" Grace asked professor Dumbledore. "She is pretty, Harry was right."

He smiled, "Of course. How are you, Grace?"

"Great!" Grace smiled. "I'm great!"

"I'm glad," he said. "Cedric Diggory was over here for a while."

"Oh yes, he's a sweet boy," Grace said.

"His intentions are off," Dumbledore said. "He invited Cho, but he's more interested in you. Harry and Ron were actually about to stop him from coming over. But, I'm Dumbledore, I'm awesome, I stopped it."

Grace laughed, "Always looking out for me."

"Of course, my dear," he said.

"I know about the prophecy, when Bill and I were in Russia... I found my memories... of the night... Harry defeated him," Grace said. "What's going to happen to me when I'm 21?"

"Oh my," He said. "The prophecy was said a long time ago."

"Albus," she said, sternly. "I'm not a child, anymore."

"It says the one who shall defeat the dark lord... Harry. The woman who's protected him since birth shall pass when she is 21. From protecting him," Dumbledore said. "I'm paraphrasing of course."

Grace nodded, "My mother was 21, when she..."

"Yes... But... it goes on to say..." He gulped. "The second of which this will happen."

"You're saying... I'm going to share the same fate as my mother..." Grace said. "And how do you plan that this will be prevented?"

"It can't..." He said. "Unless someone is willing to protect themselves for you... I have volunteered myself to do such. I don't have much time left, my child. But, I will protect you until the day I die."

"Oh, professor," she choked. "Thank you."

She hugged him quickly, Percy walked over. Dumbledore broke away from her and walked to the other teachers.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah... um, Percy... I need to tell you something..." Grace started. "About this man... in Russia."

"Hey, Neville!" Percy exclaimed. "I'll be right back."

Him, George and Fred walked over to Neville, yelling at him about his hands falling too far down Ginny's back.

I'll tell him later. Grace thought.

Grace turned and saw Hermione shouting at Ron and Harry before she stormed up the stairs. Grace quickly walked away, Percy noticed this and walked after her.

"Hermione!" She shouted. She walked upstairs the Gryffindors dormitories. The staircases began to change. "Oh, Hell no."

She apparated to the common room, "Hermione!"

She ran up the stairs and into the girls dorm room.

"Oh, Hermione," Grace walked to her, crying on her bed.

Hermione sobbed into Grace's dress, "Boys are such idiots."

"I know, I know," Grace rubbed her back.

"Can't he see that I love him?" She cried.

Grace hugged her tightly, "You are talking to the right person... because this was me."

"Really?" She sniffed.

"Oh of course!" Grace said. "I thought Percy was bloody blind, I mean I've had a crush on him since the moment I met him. And he asked out Penny Clearwater! And guess what? We're getting married soon, so don't lose hope sweetie."

"He hates me," she cried. "He absolutely hates me."

"Don't you dare say that," Grace said. "How could anyone hate you? You're smart and beautiful and just a compassionate girl."

Hermione cried some more.

"Hermione..." Grace said. "You know boys are really stupid. I can think of at least 10 times Percy has forgotten the exact same thing. And same with Harry."

Hermione laughed, "Ron always forgets things."

"Exactly," Grace smiled. "And you don't need a man to make you happy. You did fine the first 14 years of your life without one."

"You're right," Hermione smiled.

"Are you alright, then?" Grace asked. "Percy will be looking for me."

"Yeah I'm alright," Hermione wiped a tear. "You can leave."

"Alright... You know the address if you ever need advice or help or anything," Grace said.

"Thank you," Hermione smiled, hugging Grace again.

Grace walked out of her room, closing the door. She sighed heavily and started walking.

"I didn't think I was that stupid," Percy said, sneaking up behind her.

Grace's eyes widened and she turned around. She began to hit Percy's chest.

"Don't scare me like that," she said.

"Fine," Percy rolled his eyes. "Is she alright?"

"Yeah, but I'm about to hit your brother upside the head," Grace crossed her arms.

"Can you do that later?" He yawned. "I'm tired."

"Hoes before broes, Percy," Grace said.

"But I'm tired," he whined. "Please, Grace."

Grace pondered that for a second, "It should only take a second."

Percy rolled his eyes, "I'm waiting outside."

Grace walked to the boys dormitories, "Ronald..."

Ron and Harry looked at the door, Grace was standing, arms crossed.

"Oh, you're going to get it," Harry said.

Ron gulped, "Yeah?"

Grace walked over and slapped the back of his head.

"See you all at Christmas," Grace smiled, walking out of the room.
